Three stars for Chinese is pretty much what you expect but I was so disappointed with the food here. They delivered within the time frame, closer to 50 minutes vs 30, not an issue because it was what was expected. The food was room temperature and lacking both flavor and texture beyond mushy. The wings were fine, smaller than most but no issues, and the white rice was good, moist. Servings were small, meaning a pint was not filled up, not even the rice, chicken was a small pile in a plastic container. Most importantly the food tasted bland, no crunch, soggy vegetables and general tso chicken was closer to steamed or microwave chicken pieces with sauce. So many better options for generic Chinese, not even looking for authentic, we won’t return.

Not the worst, but probably one of the most ghetto chinese food i ever ate. Its definitely catered to non-asians, Its not bad but goddamn depressing when you get the food. The taste isn’t bad but this is extremely american ghettofied chinese food. Im korean, i can’t eat most real/native chinese food, its a bit too much. So i eat mainly korean chinese or american chinese. This is Panda Express down graded by 10. Greasy good cheap eats, yes. But a bit depressing. The shrimp dumplings is little baby shrimp with shreds of plain lettuce. This is definitely catered to people that absolutely know nothing of asian food in general.

I don’t know about you, but I remember in highschool here in New York! Yes! I’m from New york! We used to get out of class, me and my friends used to stop by that Chinese spot for the typical Chicken wings with French fries, because basically there where few options we could afford, but didnt matter because the food was GREAT! This Chinese place is that type of place, got me? Good typical American Chinese, chicken wings, and marvelous sesame chicken; if you’re looking for something super traditional, and have many dietary restrictions this place is not for you. So please keep it in mind. Still love them, and been a customer for the past 3 years …

The food was pretty good and they delivered fast. I would purchase from them again when grubhub is down. I ordered the sweet and sour pork it was very good. I am only giving them 3 stars because I only tried one thing. The delivery guy was nice. I’ve been to the location before and wouldn’t go there for a pickup. The outside looks like your typical Chinese food spot in the hood.

Chinese food here is pretty good. Good prices and the lunch special portions are great too plus they make a wonderful low mein

Low expectations, but they exceeded them. I have ordered a couple of times and love the pork lo mein, the scallion pancake, and pan fried dumplings. The delivery guy is always fast and the order is always complete, including free coke(over a certain dollar amount). I will continue to order from them.

I’ll start off by saying this was the first time I ordered from here, and it was a mistake. First, it took an hour to get here, which was about 15 minutes later than what seamless said it would take. Second, when the food did come and I opened the bag up, there was sauce on literally everything. All the boxes, utensils, and food had dumpling sauce on it. They don’t give you napkins either, so I had to use mine to clean up their mess. Third, I don’t eat meat so I ordered a shrimp roll. Two bites in and I realized they gave me a regular pork egg roll, even though I paid more for a shrimp roll(again I don’t eat meat so I was horrified). Lastly the shrimp dumplings were under cooked and cold, and the crab rangoons were so tough I could eat about 1⁄3 of them. Over all bad experience, the only good thing was that the delivery driver was extremely nice so I tipped him decently. From now on I will order from my usual chinese restaurant, I guess this is what I get for wanting to try something new.

good grief, not sure how we didn’t bother checking Unilocal before ordering from here on seamless. terrible choice. greasy(well, greasier than greasy chinese food usually is), LATE(waited an entire hour and called twice. i mean, it was a MONDAY and it’s chinese food, com’on), and the«fried rice» was simply yellow, not fried and nothing in it. no free cokes or anything else(what chinese place doesn’t give free stuff?!). overall, food was pretty gross. will not order again.

More like a three. seven star review, but this is a solid Chinese take out spot. Yes, it’s American-ized Chinese(that also happens to serve Thai Paid Thai) so don’t expect what you’d be able to order from Chinatown or Chinese food from Flushing. I’ve had everything here from the Sweet & Sport Pork/Chicken, General Tso’s Chicken, Orange Flavor Chicken, BBQ Spare Rib Tips, Regular Fried Chicken, Shrimp w Lobster Sauce, Beef & Broccoli and a plethora of other items from their menu. And in addition to being a tiny bit cheaper than the dozens of take out Chinese spots in Astoria, the quality and serving size is worth what you pay for. On top of that, they prepare the food fairly quick. They’re practically open on every holiday and this also included when hurricane Sandy was hitting New York City pretty hard. It’s a small place that’s family owned/ran and they’re nice. So if you want Americanized-Chinese take out, this is your joint. Don’t listen to the naysayers probably asking for some fine cuisine.

I ordered off of GrubHub. The Wok 8 was a great choice as well as a great value. Crab rangoon pieces, shrimp over fried rice, & an eggroll for $ 7.50 — and great portion size! My order of apple sticks were the best part of my meal, though. AMAZING. However, in order to spend $ 10 for delivery I added on an order of 6 fortune cookies for $.50 — which the delivery guy forgot. Only 50 cents lost, but a frustration nonetheless.

Fast delivery. A little pricey for what it is. Also not very good, even if it was cheaper. Stay away from wonton soup. That is horrible. Pork fried rice is on the sweet side due to a lot of onion I think. Sesame chicken has great texture but also too sweet. Best thing out of the bag was the diet coke.

Bad bad bad, never order duck noodle, house pan fried rice. 2 out of 2 time the noodle is not even cooked, they just dump in the container and pour the soup inside, thinking it will be cook. Everything taste the same, try different place next time, give a pass for this place.

Ordered delivery from here for the first time. Delivery time was noted as 30 – 45 minutes and it came promptly after 30 minutes. Food was decent– nothing to write home about, but not bad. Probably would have given 3 stars if I hadn’t found a small, curly black hair intertwined in the noodles of my soup… Not sure if I’ll be ordering from here again.

Happy Gathering is my go-to for fast food. I’m not much of a fast food fan in general, but something about their sesame chicken and scallion pancakes has me craving it pretty much bimonthly. It’s embarrassing, I know. But for $ 8.00 and 2 – 3 meals worth of food it’s probably the most bang-for-your-buck you’ll get in this area. Order the right thing and you’ll be a happy customer.

Decent NYC Chinese, but best of all, they’re finally on Grub Hub. And even better — minimun order is only $ 6! They have the best crab rangoons in the ‘hood.

Ordered for delivery(I live about 10 minutes away). Pros — solid general tso’s chicken — huge order of crab rangoons for cheap! — total was $ 9.05 including tax(I gave a few more for tip) Con — took OVERANHOUR(1hr and 10 minutes) … chinese food is usually very fast, another place I order from comes in 15 minutes or less. I would consider ordering from here again but I’m hoping delivery won’t take forever.
