Called restaurant spoke to Jeffry. They say will honor the 10% off discount on website. When actually arrived they denied the the discount. I am just speechless with people who can lie you on your face. Food was Soso. Typical chinese take out food but double priced.

Worst experience ever I had at this buffet. Lunch buffet price was only 10 dollars. I wanted to try because price looked good. Nope. Actually while I was picking my foods one of guest start fighting with workers. It became really big fight. Dishes were broken, napkins and tables where everywhere:( Fight was about 5 mins. When they said call to 911 workers said no no, don’t call to 911. It was really mess. After all things happened my and my other 2 friends appetite was gone. Waitress just came with check. Did I ask you? Restroom was disgusting. I posted pics even. Food wasn’t good. I left hungry this place. They don’t deserve for tip after all but we tipped to be polite. Do NOT recommend anyone this place!!!

I put in some labor work the other day, so like Tyrese from Fast and Furious –We Hungry-. I know most of the Buffets in Queens. This is the only $ 9-$ 10 Lunch and $ 15-$ 16 Dinner price range AYCE(All You Can Eat) that I know of without searching or going too far from my area. It’s not so new and it’s not so grand but it’s not unacceptable. Some of the negative reviews are true. The entire restroom floor was wet with a puddle of water, luckily there was a non-slip pad to step on. The second issue is fruit flies around the fruits. Other than that I didn’t see anything else a problem except it’s atmosphere for dining. The place is just lackluster and needs a bit of an overhaul in décor or needs new fixtures. The staff is fine but not enthusiastic. I don’t think it’s meant to be that kind of restaurant. It seems to be a good left over dining style establishment from 10 years ago. And that’s fine by me, stay cheap. There’s not many AYCE, no thrills places for the price they offer any more. But truth is any higher in price and the standards offered would not be worth it. I thought the food was good and decent. Though basic, needing flavor and a bit bland, I fount nothing wrong. The food was clean, fresh and all very edible. The place was also packed last Sunday for lunch. And I mean 95% packed with barely any place to sit or maneuver. I had at least five plates and more than two cups of two different delicious soups. And three ice cream cones. Yah! Could barely move and needed a nap after. I started off with Lo-Mein, rice and an egg roll. The rice and Lo-Mein was basic. The egg roll was very starchy, heavy on the flour, not crispy, little on the stale, bad kinda soft and thick crusted, lacking a filling. I think that’s one of the points, they fill you up on the egg, I mean starch roll. There imitation Oysters Rockefeller is another carb filler, I’m not sure how they make it but it’s filled with a mix of bread crumb or bread like filling. And not too good either. Their soup is ‘da bomb, I had two cups of two different ones. One is a baby shrimp and vegetable and what seemed like tofu in it and was very good, flavorful and the other was a plain white, maybe made from rice or potatoes, I don’t recall but also very comforting in flavor. Some other mediocre tasty sides include shrimp wrapped in bacon(if you do anything wrapped in bacon incorrectly and not taste good, you should never step in the kitchen ever again!), clams, mystery meat covered in red sauce, pork sides, okay worthwhile sushi filled with variety but not high quality ingredients, not too bad pizza, french fries, fried balls, cooked salmon, dumplings, a poorly made Shu Mai(dim sum dish)(very starchy). I thought the pastries needed work, I make better out of the box kind at home. The ice cream comes close to ice water(needs some –more– cream or milk in the mix) but I am not complaining because you can’t get fancy with AYCE at that price. For fruits, pick one: cantaloupe, honey dew, pineapple, slices of orange. And J-E-L-L-O + a very good salad bar with greens, reds, beans, tuna fish, potato and other salads(with dressings and croutons) And there’s more…

Worst Asian Buffet I have ever had! They have a lot of variety and lot of seafood options for dinner but everything’s undercooked and under flavored. The sushis are moderate. Try everything in small portions otherwise you might waste a lot of food and also get charged 30% extra. In all, I am never going there again.

This is my second time dining here. For the price it can’t be beat. They have nice options with the classics like General Tsos and the Hibachi chicken is amazing. They also offer sushi which is very basic California rolls and such but it satisfies the craving. I also had the same issues with the staff. They were on top of refills and cleaned our plates away fast. But they just put the plates in a buss tub behind us that was overflowing. Take it to the back when it’s full! Also the server waiting for the bill at the table. It made it awkward to tip with her standing over us. I just had a few issues with cleanliness. The women’s bathroom was disgusting. There was a trash can in one of the stalls that looked like it hadn’t been emptied in days. There was a checklist for the bathroom cleaning but it wasn’t filled out. Also the entire waitstaff was sitting at a table snapping string beans. All of the beans were on a table that people eat on with no tablecloth or covering. They were not wearing gloves and were dropping the string beans into a bus tub. The same tubs used for dirty dishes. The staff would get up, get refills, take payments and sit back down with out washing their hands. Major health code violation! Also guests should never see food being prepped in the dining room! Let’s just say I didn’t grab the beans on the Buffett.

Yes when I first ate here I was hungry so I did not realize how unsanitary it is. The second time i noticed the forks and spoons are sticky and looked like it was not washed correctly. Same with the plates. I know it’s a Chinese buffet but I been to plenty out of state that actually has good food and clean. The food here is decent you’re better off buying Chinese food from the restaurant than eating here. The waiters are so busy talking to each other that they don’t even remember to deliver you’re drinks, not only that the guy delivered our drinks to the wrong table and when we asked him again he took the drinks from that table and gave it to us. The drinks were the fountain soda ones so you can imagine how unsanitary it was even if the guy did not drink it . The floors were dirty and the handles to pick the food are dirty. They cross contaminate the food also . Eat at your own risk everybody in family for food poisoning after that

It’s nice to have a buffet in a neighborhood where restaurants charge a premium for small portions. There is a lot of good going on here and it is pretty good as far as NYC buffets go. Pros –It’s a buffet! –Nice variety of food. –The price can’t be beat Cons –The men’s bathroom is absolutely disgusting. I was there on 7⁄5 and I was afraid to wash my hands. Please, please fix this. The bathroom needs to be spotless and checked every 30 minutes. –The staff is adequate but I agree with the rest of the reviews here, smile people! It goes a long way.

The food was ok! loved the coconut shrimp. The staff members need to show some customer appreciation though! Like at least smile a little! There was ice cream all over the floor in the desert section and my 2 year old almost slipped on it! I returned ten minutes later and it was still melted all over the floor!

It’s an ok place. The food isn’t OMG but it’s food so I can’t complain about it. This place is big but I would go back if I wanted to relax and eat alone because in my opinion there isn’t a big selection. I am a big fan of crab legs and their weren’t that good.

I arrived at 3:30 pm amd i was charged for the dinner special which is $ 15.99BUT prior to my journey there i called the restaurant, i was told if i was there before 4pm i would be charged the lunch special $ 8.99. Aside from that, there was a great selection of food from proteins to carbs to vegetales and for those who have a sweet tooth. I wasn’t impressed with the dessert though. It’s a clean and inexpensive place to go and eat and enjoy with friends/family. Also the rating is an «A» so that’s great!

I agree that some of the food doesn’t get high marks in the flavor department. It’s not that it tastes bad, but some salt and pepper shakers on the tables would definitely help bring out the flavor in certain dishes. Although the mac ‘n cheese tastes so watered down, that it can’t be helped. But, it is an inexpensive buffet and not all of the food is bland. The BBQ chicken is juicy and the skin has a nice crispiness to it. My major gripe with this place is the etiquette of some of the wait staff. I understand that people who work in the service industry can feel underappreciated and that sometimes customers who are being served fail to leave enough of, or even leave a gratuity at all. So I always try to tip accordingly(~15% — 20%) even if the service wasn’t that great. I can understand if there is a general feeling of unhappiness and the eagerness to make the customer happy isn’t always there. But for a waitress to just stand right at your table after paying your bill, practically breathing down your neck, eyeballing you as you count your money so you can leave her a tip is just ridiculous. Not only is that presumptuous, that’s just downright rude. A gratuity should be left as a token of appreciation not because your server pressures you by blatantly letting you know that she expects one. After a mediocre tasting meal, that just totally turned me off to this place. Some serving etiquette lessons to the wait staff is sorely needed. The fact that it is inexpensive coupled with its proximity to the other businesses make it a convenient place to eat for nearby shoppers. However, those are the only pluses to this place.

Don’t waste you money on this crappy buffet because I went to this place two times. The first time was with my dad and my siblings, and it was packed. The food from the buffet table are varied and I didn’t get a lot of food because all the food are stale, greasy, fatty, and some might be expired. For instance, shrimp wrapped with bacon, someone will get a heart attack by eating that shit. The second time was with my godparents, they picked it just for my late birthday. At the buffet, they picked few of the food from the buffet table and I get less because they still haves the greasiest food. During dessert, my godmother asked one of the waitress to sing a happy birthday song for me and they did by surrounding our table and one holding a small chocolate cake(that taste stale) with a candle on top, surrounding with slice of apples, and playing a happy birthday song in the background, that version is the most obnoxious thing that I ever heard since I went to this buffet two times because there’s a lot of people who celebrates their bday and playing that annoying happy birthday song a lot of times. Anyway, who wants to celebrate your birthday at this yucky buffet? You should save money and celebrate your bday at another buffet like Atlantic city or midtown, or someplace that has fresh food. In addition, this buffet is not clean because when I first went to this buffet with my dad, the table and the ceiling was unclean and the silverware such as the spoon are dirty. I asked the waiter to change this unsanitated spoon to a cleaner spoon and he did.

I ate here recently and I did not see any crab legs. Most of the food tasted the same i.e. bland and similar in flavor. Half an hour in to my lunch a staff member thought I was done so he gave me a bill without asking if i was finished and just walked away.

New Grand Buffet, I’ve eaten here twice now and I just don’t understand all the bad reviews. First off, it’s a buffet, a honest to goodness buffet, one of those rare unicorns in NYC where a buffet is actually all you can eat! Second, their prices are ridiculously low, lunch will set you back about $ 9.50. So, if you’re expecting that Vegas style experience… well you aren’t exactly going to get that at McDonald’s pricing. Finally, the weird thing about this place is it isn’t just Chinese food, they have all sorts of random stuff like crappy pizza, lasagna, and other mish mash of random stuff. Probably best to avoid that crap because it’s a CHINESE buffet. Now with your expectations appropriately lowered, this is like your typical corner take out joint, The building is dirty, that includes the water stained ceiling, the walls with all sorts of crud from the last 40 years, and the dark lighting. The bright side of this place is the immense variety of food, the large number of people visiting here which means the food is turned over consistently. And they have a large, well staffed kitchen rolling out huge platters to the buffet line. For $ 9.50, all I can eat for two hours and expecting absolutely crappy food, I can say I’m a happy camper as long as I don’t get food poisoning and the food is at least passable. I enjoyed being able to get my egg roll fix along with crappy lo mein and general tao’s chicken. The vegetables were incredibly fresh in the Chinese dishes along with the salad bar. They have a little bit of everything and nothing was completely terrible… well maybe the exception of the way overcooked salmon. But beyond that, I’m a fan all things considered. Every once and a blue moon I’ll crave McDonalds and every once and awhile, I’ll crave god awful Chinese food. Thanks for hitting the spot!

The place need a touch of paint. Looked kind of beat up. Then again the people in the neighborhood ain’t that shabby either. So how’s the foods? It’s not bad at all I must say. From raw clams to plantains, they are doing their best pleasing the customers. For under $ 20 a person all you can eat is a very good deal in NYC. Most waiters in Chinese restaurant only get paid a few bucks an hour, so your tips is important to them. Many of the customers there doesn’t speak English. So that give you a picture of the environment of the difficulty the server is having with their customers. Anyway, I had a great time eating there. We all loved it. Afterward, we went grocery shopping next door at Stop & Shop. We will come back.

Took a class of special education students for a luncheon. The workers treated us disrespectfully. They hovered around us and then approached us when the waitress didn’t like her tip. Wow!!! A tip at a buffet is up to the discretion of the customer. All the waitress did was give us water, which we had to ask for! Food was so so. The desserts were bland and the ice cream tasted fake. I believe the same utensils are used for all dishes as we had one person suffer an allergic reaction from an allergy to seafood. This can be potentially dangerous. As we were leaving, they clearly in their broken English told us we are not welcome to come back. That was a no brainer, as I would not patronize nor recommend this«restaurant» to anyone at all. I give it a negative star rating.

Just when you didn’t hate life enough, along comes New Grand Buffet. AYCE fans everywhere are likely to be disappointed with the spread here, despite the group friendly setting and more than recession friendly prices. The biggest problem is the quality, which is somewhat ironic since it is a buffet, but even that standard has reached a new low. Located along the the shopping mall strip where most businesses struggle to gain any love, New Grand is one of the only food options on that part of the street. Parking is located above the facility or on the street. Just to note, the roof top parking is free with validation from stores. People who are used to eating at less than desirable Chinese buffets, may find lots in common with their go-to and New Grand. For starters, the décor is as antiquated as one would expect: dead walls, virtually the same kind of chairs /tables(do they all come from one company or something?) along with a similar layout for food. The bathrooms are in a word, were neither grand nor new. They were just plain nasty. Finally, the food is the typical hodgepodge mix of mediocre items. Nothing most people would want to get caught dead eating, but sometimes the general allure is simply food itself, not the expectation that it’s all going to be downhill from there. The most reliable item might be their crab snow legs and the rest of the seafood(sushi, crabs, etc.) and random Chinese + American(mac and cheese? pizza? oh my) entrees are visually quite unappetizing. Lastly, the service like in any restaurant will have its ups and downs. Unfortunately, it’s been set to down every time I’ve been here. Slow to attend to our group, rarely filling in waters without asking, and the bill is better paid when walking straight up to the cash register. I guess that part makes sense, it is a a self-serve buffet after all.
