Petey’s Burger

It’s horrible food. Fries were greasy in a bad way, too dry and greasy, couldn’t even eat half of them. Cheeseburger was mm… could be ok, but the onion the put in it killed the taste (and I like onions, that’s why I asked for it). Had to take it out and still didn’t enjoy it at all. Definitely not coming back and hopefully they will be replaced soon with a more decent venue.

Love this place! Not something one should eat every day. The flavor is great, staff very helpful and they said 30 – 45 minutes and it was here in 25

Best burgers town! Patties are full flavored. Buns are soft and warm like a pair of a boo… boots.
Prices are low like a two dollar hook… hook. Like a two dollar hook on dollar day.
Go there. Get some. Better than your sister. Better than your daddy. Better than some $ 15 organic horseshi… horseshin. Horseshin burgers suck Especially the horseshin burgers down the street. Also, fuck shit shack.

Best burger in the area. Greasy and good if your into that kind of think. Milkshakes are solid too. A place to eat quick, for consistent food.

Ordered a burger the night of ¼/​2016. Every hour following I had vomiting and diarrhea. Diagnosed with food poisoning. Beware.

I particularly like the Cajun fries. They are quite spicy but also quite salty and have a heavy flavor. I still like them and they give you so many !
I’ve ordered delivery from them in the past; sometimes it takes long to get the delivery and they don’t seem all that busy to justify it. I tried picking up my order and aside from the fact I had to call twice to place the order, when I got there they hadn’t even started yet.
Overall I think it’s a good place. I like that they don’t have a million things on the menu. Its straight and to the point 5 – 6 burger choices.

When you are in the mood for a fresh tasty burger but don’t want to necessarily spend $ 10+ on a burger from nearby joints like Burger Club or Bareburger, this is a great option! I’d say the double cheeseburger is just the right amount of beef to fill you up. I’ve had the single before and it leaves you wanting more. Fries are fresh cut and good. They could be a bit more crispy but at least they are not overly greasy. Overall I’d say it is closer to 3.5 stars but I’ll round up on this one!

Burgers are very moist and juicy. In my opinion, there was too much sauce on the wings. Not a deal breaker, but it probably would have been so much better if there was some celery or carrots to clean your pallet. Food is really good.

I stopped in only because I was working in the area and I didn’t want Chinese food n I thought how could I go wrong wit a Burger? Well I did first of it’s nothing but a thin salty pattie and the freshest thing on the Burger was the darn onions, I could have gotten the same Burger from a corner deli store in my area. I thought because they had go reviews it couldn’t go wrong but that wasn’t ground beef that was cooked it was just a beef patties I was so unhappy with it but that just how I feel about the place. I get a better Hardy Burger from wendys tasty actually fulls me.

Not quite like in-​n-​out but pretty close. As a California native the double cheese burger and the Cajun fries were enough to fulfill my craving.

Being a regular at delivery, I recently paid a visit in person. It was like a dream had materialized.
Admittedly, after frequenting several breweries and a distillery one Saturday afternoon, Peteys was the best answer to the only question I cared about, «What can fill me up and also be delicious yet not over priced?»
Peteys is worth the cheat meal,
If you’re on a diet.
If you don’t believe me,
Just try it.
Delivery’s worth the wait,
The burgers will meet their fate
It’s better off they’re not like, «super-​size» it.

This is a no-​frills, solid cheeseburger joint. For about $ 10 you can get yourself a cheeseburger, fries, and soda, which certainly isn’t bad considering the quality. Fresh patty, melted American cheese, crisp veggies (i.e., tomato, lettuce, onion), lightly toasted bun, and a Big Mac-​esque special sauce make this cheeseburger a tasty delight, if not a particularly original one. (I probably should get the Petey Melt next time, as that burger seems a little more out-​of-​the-​box.)
Their fries, however, are really top-​notch. Thin, crispy, with the potato skins intact, these are the type of fries I want whenever I’m eating out. And generous portions are always a bonus.
I probably would have rated this 3.5 stars if I could, but I’ll certainly be back if/​when I have a cheeseburger craving in LIC.

I order a double cheese burger and cheese fries ! Very good the fries taste like freshly cut. And hamburger home made style. Very good !!

Best cajun fries ever. ‘Nuff said. I have a palate for spicy so if there’s an option for cajun fries, I always go for it. And Petey’s cajun fries are out of this world — tingling-​the-​back-​of-​your-​tongue kinda spicy AND come in the form of a legit mountain. I couldn’t finish mine and had to ask them to bag the rest up for me to take home.
So if you feel eh about burgers, at least come here for the cajun fries.
Speaking of burgers though, I got the cheeseburger and thought it was delicious. Size wise it looked about the same as In-​N-​Out or Shake Shack. As for quality? I can’t really say, since I don’t remember being impressed by In-​N-​Out, and Shake Shack’s burger quality varies with location imo.
Service: I went in on a weekday evening and there were probably 3 customers there, none in line before me, but there was still a bit of a wait on my food. Which is probably a good thing as that means they make it on the spot. They were pretty nice about me asking for a bag for the rest of my fries, and afterward offered to bus away my tray for me. Other than that, pretty standard of fast food joints: call by receipt number, self-​serve condiments and utensils, bus away your own tray, etc.
p. s. please don’t snatch the entire ketchup bottle and hog it at your table. Be a decent human being and use it at the self-​serve station first.

This place is great!!! The burger is nice and juicy. It is well seasoned. I ordered the cheeseburger. It was oh so good. I love burgers so this place hit the spot. I met the owner who is really nice. The staff is friendly and the décor is simple and nice. Definitely going to stop by the other location on Vernon Blvd since I am in the area. Havent tried the fries but definitely next time. Go to Peteys for a great burger.

I came here for a quick bit and I have to say I was pretty impressed with how great the food was. For someone who doesn’t eat meat I can actually say that I had options! There were three veggie style burgers, it was quite delicious. I got a burger with the size of sweet potato fries and it was nicely done. They meal in all was super flavorful. I hope to come by soon for more.

I have been here several times over the years and I think it’s a solid burger joint. The place is essentially a fast food place, the seating is very cafeteria like. The place is good for a quick meal, not really a place to wine and dine. They do a TON of deliveries. It’s also a tad pricey, the cheeseburger combo was close to $ 10 bucks. Also, they opened up a sister store in LIC a few years back but I have yet to try.
The food:
#2 Cheeseburger combo– the burger is cooked through, I do wish there was other options. There is a whole slice of onion but it’s not too strong but gives a great crunch and also adds a nice onion flavor to the burger. The burger is lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese and a sauce that is like thousand island or a mayo ketchup combo. The burger isn’t that big, but they give a shit ton of fresh cut fries. The fries are good, not greasy, good flavor, I just wish they were a tad crunchier.
Petey Melt– it’s pretty much a grilled cheese with a burger patty and sauteed onions inside. I thought their melt was solid. It was nice and gooey and the onions offered a nice sweetness. I am a fan.
Double Cheeseburger combo– I think the double is a solid choice, very beefy, very cheesy, very oniony. I like it but I think I like the single more. It throws the bread and beef ratio out of whack.

The establishment has a updated modern décor, with a open kitchen a definite plus. Watch your burger being prepared. The easy menu consisting of only a few items, great for a indecisive person like myself. To bad the burgers sucked, they were dry & salty stuffed in between some cheap low quality burger bun. There special sauce was not that special. They put my order into a brown paper bag *sealed it*, then tied it in a plastic bag. Which was a definite no no. It took me 10 minutes to get to my crib. By the time I opened my order the fries were already soggy! Dammit
At the end of the day, there is nothing special about this spot. I would of rather went to Sonics, Checkers or even Wendy’s for my fast food burger craving needs!
FYI: Reason why fries were so soggy, was due to sealing all that heat inside the bag in such a way! Creates moisture as it starts to cool …

I was looking for a burger joint in the Woodside/​Astoria neighborhood of Queens to eat at and found Petey’s had a large number of Unilocal reviews. Being that it was 3.5 stars, I expected it to be pretty good. I can totally see why customers love Petey’s, but I can also see why there are people who come away disappointed.
Considering how many good burger joints there are in NYC, it’s easy to overlook Petey’s. It’s a small, local burger spot in a neighborhood full of awesome restaurants. On the day I came here, I ordered the Combo Double Cheeseburger with California Fries. The burger looked delicious and quite photogenic when it was served to me. The California Fries were no different with a smothering of cheese and onions smattered all over the fries in a white box. Unfortunately, the taste didn’t live up to the way they both looked. The burger was decent, with the 2 patties being juicy, but a bit on the greasier side. I didn’t taste a whole lot of flavor on the patty, but the cheese in the burger definitely compensated.
Coincidentally, the fries and onions on top of the fries were also a bit tasteless. I had to add some salt and pepper into the California Fries box to give it a bit of a salty kick. Honestly, the fries could have done without the onions because the onions were stringy, tasteless and sort of in the way of eating the fries. I would have just been happy with cheese fries. The fries themselves were very soft, like the ones served at RanchOne, so I wasn’t a huge fan of the texture either. I had a chance to try the Sweet Potato Fries too and they were sliced much bigger, but nevertheless still soft and bland.
I think Petey’s has potential and is located in a great foodie neighborhood, but their food needs a bit more flavoring for sure!
