There are a lot of bad reviews on this page and maybe satisfied people never come here to post a review. This place is as clean and friendly as you’d expect from any other cheap national fast food chain. And they’re open later than some other fast food places.

I’m a huge Taco Bell fan. Let’s get that out of the way. I’ve been to many Taco Bells in my life. This one here on Steinway is the nicest, most professionally run Taco Bell I can think of. It’s a really clean, chill environment. They get your order right.

The best part about going to this branch was reading the hilarious Unilocal reviews on it. The worst part is pretty much everything else. This Taco Bell location may be a self-fulfilling prophecy — it’s a poor dining experience that leads to few people going(it was emptier on a Monday night than any other restaurant nearby), and since few people go there isn’t exactly any motivation to improve the experience. As a result you’re left with a disappointment to both the chain and fast-food restaurants overall. * There are literally only two employees working there, resulting in some very slow service. It took roughly five minutes for me to get to place my order even though there was only one person ahead of me.(If this were the Union Square location, you’d wait on a longer line and yet already have your food ready by this time.) * The menu is on the pricier side, and is closer to what you’d see in at the Penn Station or Union Square locations, both of which can justify their prices because unlike this spot they have actual foot traffic. * The manager charged 80 cents to add nacho cheese to a vegetarian burrito. 80 cents for«cheese»? Really? * My «crunchy» taco shell was stale, and the beef didn’t taste as good as other locations. * Shortly after my friend and I ate our food there was a period of time where our stomachs felt a little upset. * There are no free refills. The soda dispenser is located behind the counter, and your beverage selection isn’t even visible to the customer when you order. * The napkins, straws, and hot sauce are all located on the counter. A customer had to ask the manager to take out more napkins because he didn’t realize what was missing right in front of him. * Without going in detail, the bathroom toilet had some dirtiness issues.(The rest of the seems okay in terms of cleanliness.) I’ve had better Taco Bell experiences everywhere else I’ve been to in the city, whether it’s in Manhattan(Union Square and Penn Station) or Queens(Queens Center Mall and Northern Boulevard). So unless this Astoria location gets a major revamp, stay away from it.

Shells are stale AF! Really long wait for 2 items. I’m literally praying for no food poisoning as I write this. Avoid.

The food use to be good… the service is horrible… the new(indian) guy is rude(he rarely speaks English) and keep mixing up the orders,…now I’m going to throw to the garbage the whole order because that idiot didn’t know the different between cheese and chicken., And I can’t go back because it’s so far away, and it’s a 100 °F outside. The bearded guy is good, and(thank God he’s the one who’s actually making the orders!!!) polite, he’s very professional. From now, I’m going to check my orders. THEYSHOULDTURNOFFTHATSTUPIDRADIO!!! IT’S SOOOOLAUD!!!

I love me some Taco Bell as a guilty pleasure, but this location is the worst. Were it not for its proximity, i’d never venture inside, but the much better location on Northern is unfortunately a bit of a hike. The tables are always digustingly dirty, the menu is limited and considerably more expensive than the national average. Woefully understaffed, so plan to wait to place your order. There is a significant and insurmountable language barrier, so expect issues with your order, as well. Today, the trainee(I hope) left off half of my order, and the«manager» charged me $ 51.00 for a taco and a LG soda. Needless to say, my next stop is the bank. Just not sure this spot is worth the hassle.

Kinda perplexing when coming here. I think a lot of the associates have language barriers so if you wanna change an order be prepared to have a rough time communicating it to the associates. My brother wanted a vegetarian taco with beans instead of meat and the guys behind the counter just could not understand the change. It took about five minutes of back and forth. My brother even had to ask me if he had said no meat. On top of the vegan change fiasco, they made my food meatless as well which I had never asked for at all. Not a vegan here in any sense. Truth be known, there are better taco places in the neighborhood so don’t waste your time here and save yourself the headache.
