Jeremy and Bethany are amiable and attentive hosts. They greeted us sweetly as we came in and seated us at a cozy booth at a large window overlooking Youngs River. We were curious, though not very hungry, so we ordered the clam chowder, a side salad, and coffee. The chowder was really delicious, with a lovely velvetiness. The side salad was very fresh, generous, and nicely composed, and it went well with the chowder. The coffee they served us was just right. The following week, we returned to order the Ham & Tomato Quiche, which came with a substantial side salad. The quiche has a perfect balance of tomatoes and ham, and the crust tasted deliciously homemade. That was the most flavorful quiche I have ever ordered in a restaurant! Brilliant food, and great service! We will be visiting this bistro again very soon. Can’t wait to try their highly touted Hamburger … or the Roast Beef French Dip Sandwich, or the Chicken Pot Pie, or the Shepard’s Pie, and of course, their homemade Apple Pie. I happily, and highly, recommend Paradoxx Bistro.

This place is very good. The owners are passionate about good food and obviously care about their customers. I don’t understand the negative comments. They are all very nice people. Good food, good people, fantastic view of Youngs River! Go and support a new small business in Astoria!

These two young people have single-handedly done an amazing job of transforming a horrible restaurant formerly called the Tide Point into a homey and welcoming place catering to people who want simple and delicious comfort food. The atmosphere is kinda like going to someone’s home to eat. The staff is friendly and accommodating and yes, it does take a little longer. No microwaved food, no frozen stuff thrown into the fryer, only fresh food made to order. The home-made baked goods are amazing. Too bad the people from Reno, out-of-towners, the only bad review, seem to have a vendetta going against this restaurant. I’m surprised Unilocal allows this to continue. Clearly these people are trying to not only register a negative review but also hurt the business. Frankly, it is a welcome addition to the town and a primo spot to enjoy an amazing piece of cheesecake or chicken pot pie! Also check out the art by local artist Lulu Quinn next time you stop by.

The chef/owner has since removed his comment. Seriously folks… It’s probably a nice restaurant if you have over an hour to wait for your food. They do cook on a home stove. The cook didn’t like that we saw that and became angry and abusive. We were asked to leave? Really? We were on our way out after eating your nasty, disgusting, overpriced food. You got into an 85 yr old womans face because she was upset about waiting 65 mins for our food. You then asked my husband if he was drunk. Terrible. He suffered a stroke a few years ago. He has a hard time talking. How kind and considerant of you. I think you need to tell the truth. You can’t handle cooking poached eggs. Sad that you call yourself a chef. Have a nice life. See you when you fail.

Outstanding food! Very reasonably priced – we’ve enjoyed the pork loin dinner, the French dip, & the hamburgers! Great comfort food featuring sandwiches, soups, & other specials. The apple pie is made in-house & ice cream tasted homemade! Bethany was so attentive to us; it’s easy to see the time & care that’s gone into the food. Be prepared to wait a bit; because each dish is prepared as you order it. If you missed the view from the restaurant formerly known as Tide Point, come back to the same peaceful place, now called The Paradoxx Bistro & Market. This wonderful restaurant has been revamped with new booths & fresh paint, but the view of Youngs River & Bay is blissfully the same. Jeremy, one of the new owners, will even offer you binoculars to zero in on the wildlife nearby.

Was surprised that there was a new restaurant here. Decided to try it with my friend Hollywood Mike. Wow. What great food. I had a burger that may be the best I’ve had on the coast. Mike had chicken pot pie and said it was fabulous. I’ll definitely be back. Local folks too.
