Restaurant food is amazingly good and tasty. Serve quick. Large menu selection of sandwiches to name a few. Very accommodating. Bathroom very clean. The place inside is small. Only a few tables. They have outdoor patio but summer is super hot to be outdoor.

A funky hole in the wall diner that serves top-notch food. Tom had the spinach omelet and I had the fish tacos with corn on the cob which was an extra side for today. Quick Service, reasonably priced and really good food!

Excellent. I had the chicken fajita omelette and my company had a carne asada burrito. Simple dishes that more often than not result in disappointment. Quick, flavorful, and juicy with fair portions. Great shady patio. Great service. I really like this place. I’ll definitely return.

Excellent variety on the menu, everything is DELICIOUS, portions are generous, and they are FAST — I’ve never once had to wait even when the place is full of customers. I live a block away and call on my drive there and my food is ready and waiting for me by the time I get there. Yes, I’m that lazy that I drive one block to get a massive salad. It is a salad, so I guess that makes me less of a fatty? Maybe? Really friendly staff, and the place is clean. Well done!

We came here for breakfast this Saturday — had the torta cubana and rib eye sandwich with homemade chips. Very tasty, attentive and friendly service, and nice patio area. Will come back!

This«hole in the wall» has some of the best food !! Fresh ingredients, service is exceptional, good prices !! Best breakfast sandwich ever !! Lots of ham and eggs and cheese and tomatoes, stuffed in a large flakey croissant … served with potatoes and grilled onions. Enough food for the largest appetite !! Spinach omelette had fresh ingredients and large portions … comes with one side … chose the pancakes … fluffy cakes … tasty syrup. Do yourself a favor … try AJ’s today !!

Best Mexican food I’ve had since moving here from San Diego. Most Mexican places here are sub-par, but I have to say AJ’s is pretty darn good. Great service, great food, and great prices. 10⁄10 would go again.

I can’t believe this place has been open for almost a year and I am just now discovering it. Definitely a hidden gem in Atascadero. They have such a diverse menu, I can’t wait to try other items. So far I’ve had a breakfast burrito, Philly cheesesteak sandwich, and pastrami sandwich and all three have been amazing! The sandwiches are $ 10 with a side, even my philly with onion rings, still $ 10. It’s located on Morro Rd near the intersection of Curbaril and it’s easy to drive right past without noticing it but I highly recommend that you slow down and stop at AJ’s for some fantastic food at excellent prices. I can’t wait to try the Mexican food and BBQ. Finally a restaurant in A-town worthy of a 5-star rating!

Outstanding! This little joint would be easy to pass by, but you would be missing a great meal! I’ve been here a number of times and I haven’t been disappointed yet. From breakfast, lunch and dinner… Yummy!

The reason this place gets five stars is not only for the amazing food but these guys just straight out hustle the rest, they refill your drinks before there completely out, they check up on you numerous times to make sure everything is ok, they don’t mind changing up your order if you want it made a certain way. The staff makes this place and the food is delicious!

This place has an overall 5 stars for a reason! Simple family owner place with Mexican food, but also has breakfast ALL day! Foods always prompt and cooked well. Ever wake up late and want that mid day breakfast? Problem solved! They’re a little hidden on Morro Road, but definitely worth a try if you haven’t been yet. Good for any meal of the day.

Stopped by after finding positive reviews while driving through the area on a road trip. Food was pretty good. Chicken tacos were tasty, not the best I’ve had, but still good. My daughter had chicken strips. Sometimes she’s picky with strips but she practically inhaled these and wouldn’t share with her brother. My son had a burger and it looked amazing. This is a real charbroiled burger. My husband tried a bite and said it was amazing. And my husband had a sandwich and thought it was great. The ranch they serve taste amazing! I hate when you go someplace and its that crappy bottle ranch. Not here, real deal ranch! Yum! On top of that, the server was on top of it! Very friendly! Always smiling, checking in for refills constantly but not in an annoying way. As we drove away I made a comment about how good the service was and my husband agreed. I give it 4 stars because I rarely give 5 unless it blows my mind. Don’t be afraid to stop here!

This is the best Mexican restaurant I’ve found in Atascadero. Their menu is broader than most, and the food is always delicious. Now that the weather is getting nice, their outdoor seating is very pleasant. Take-out orders are always prepared in a reasonably short time.

This is such a hidden gem. Offering an incredibly diverse selection of food, ranging from breakfast to BBQ to Mexican to burgers to pasta… There is literally something here for everyone. The prices are amazing for the quality and quantity of food. The service has been outstanding each time we have gone. The inside is small, but we prefer to sit outside on the gorgeous patio anyhow. The patio has umbrellas for shade and heaters for chilly mornings or nights. Service is still prompt outside. Everything we have tried here has been perfection. I am incredibly impressed with the fact they can consistently turn out such quality with such a broad menu. Location is convenient, right on Highway 41 West, and just two minutes west of Highway 101. If you are traveling through Atascadero, I highly recommend you stop here and give it a try. Your taste buds will thank you, and you will definitely leave with leftovers for when you get hungry later on down the road.

Finally got to AJ’s to give it a try. I think I should have gone sooner. They have an big menu that includes a lot more than Mexican food. the Pastrami that I had(and split with my lunch partner) was most excellent. Very goo Pastrami. The tacos — we each had one — were very nice. The guy next to us had hamburgers, and when I saw them I had hamburger envy. The double burger one guy ordered was ginormous. The staff was nice, very nice, and the service prompt. I must ./will be trying other things on this menu for sure!

Huge portions, friendly service, and delicious to boot! This place serves Mexican fare alongside smokey barbecue; it’s perfect for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I had the combo barbecue plate consisting of two beef ribs, pulled pork, Texas toast, and a side of onion rings at 10:30 am because, ‘Murica. The pulled pork was fantastic — sweet and a teeny bit spicy. I liked it on top of the toast and onion rings, both of which were crisp perfection. The ribs were so smokey to the point that for a moment I thought I was biting into a slim Jim. That being said, the rib meat was very tender inside but the edges were a bit, stiff? Overall, I would it again. My brother had the chile verde and it was the least visually appealing, IMO. I just asked how it was and he said the carne asada was kinda weak… It’s supposed to be pork? Anyways it had a simple omelet covered in the sauce and served with hash browns. My dad enjoyed a gigantic cubanna torta with a fork and knife, after asking all of us and the server, «How am I supposed to eat this?» Very carefully, dad. It was piled high with pork, hot dog, egg, chorizo, ham, and the standard toppings of shredded lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, and mozzarella. There was salsa in there somewhere too. We were impressed and if I’m ever in the area again, I will suggest we stop there with any companions because I’m sure the large selection with have something for everyone, even vegetarians.
