A favorite after work spot at the end of the work week for me and my coworkers. Beer is nice and cold(bring back Hammer Brew!) and the wings are really good. Bartenders/wait staff are all nice and good service. DJs on Friday nights are good too and play a very nice variety of music. Ambiance is a dive bar. We always stay at the«beach club» as the other side inside was not pretty(sorry but it’s true). Besides during warm weather the windows are open, and there is a beach volleyball court. Pretty cool! The only reason I can’t give more stars, they need to refresh it a bit. It’s very functional, but, should fix it up more to attract young professionals in the area after work. That’s pretty much who goes there, but it’s still not too busy. But we do frequent this place. We definitely prefer Hammers over any of the other bars in the area.

This place makes you feel like a local. Best music on the Juke Box, too. Bourbon & Coke served in a Goblet so I feel like a King.

I had the peel & eat shrimp, which were plump and cooked perfectly. Several in our group had the Patty Melt & raved about it. The rest of the group went for the steak dinner, said it was yummy & a great value!

I love dive bars but contrary to many of the reviews on here, this is not a dive bar, this is a dump. 2nd star for having cold beer at reasonable prices but beyond that there’s nothing else here. Service — hey — hi — hello — excuse me — hey over here … crickets. Pretty sure the homeless guy that was asking for money on the corner of Virginia Ave and Bobby Brown was drinking a beer in the corner, so they have that going for them for clientele. Oh, did I mention the lingerie show? They sell raffle tickets so an «older woman»(being nice there) walking around in lingerie will give you the stuff she was wearing right t… then she goes and put on new lingerie for the next raffle… um, no.

We went out to celebrate my friends BD. It was one of my worst experiences ever. We ordered water and the waitress asked to HOLD our debit cards because she may not remember to take our money. The waitress was very rude and unprofessional. I love trying new places but this is one place I do not recommend.

The best wings ever! My husband and I came here for lunch and were very happy. We came on wensday and they have 50cent wings we both got 12 wings each and were super full and the wings were amazing seriously the best ones I have had. The owner her self was our server and was very nice we needed up spilling iced tea and she was so clam about it. For sure a must try bar !

If Unilocal could let me give 0 stars, I would do it here. I ordered 1 beer and offered to pay in cash and they said I had to open a tab. When the tab was opened, I asked to have it closed immediately which she didn’t do. Then I had to track down the waitress 3 separate times to close it out which she finally did, and there appeared 3 more beers on the tab(which I never ordered). In the end, she wouldn’t budge on me not having to pay. This place is awful. Take your business elsewhere!

This is an old school dive bar. Friendly staff and laid hack atmosphere. Decent food and drinks at a reasonable price.

Hammers needs to change the light bulbs in the parking lot and have a better security system since the past 2 yrs patrons have had car windows smashed and property stolen. Most recent Feb 19th2 cars had the windows smashed in and property stolen. Dine at your own risk.

A dive bar; plain and simple. However not many dive bars have a sand volleyball court out front. I’ve only been here a handful of times under the cover of darkness after the work whistle has blow. I’ve never eaten here but the food looks appetizing to say the least. Service is great and the bartenders are laidback and chill.

hammers will remind you of being at a dive bar on the beach. The bar opens up for fresh air and there is an indoor bar next door. The beer and food prices are good, and the place rocks on weekends. The bartenders and waitresses are friendly and they do have live entertainment on weekends. There is a volleyball sand court outside which makes for a lot of fun and interesting volleyball. All in all is is a pretty fun place to go to.

Hammer’s truly is a dive bar with dive bar prices. Don’t expect anything fancy here, but the wings are truly delicious(.50 each) and the drink prices are rather low. I wonder if the hipsters of Atlanta will eventually find this place and ironically come here like they do at Southern Comfort.

Any restaurant in Atlanta where you can go play beach volleyball is amazing. It’s a very unique spot being that it does have that feature in a non beach city. Great for parties you name it. Granted it is a bar so expect drinking and the sort. I didn’t try the food. The only pitfall this restaurant could face are the regulars that hog the volleyball court. If we didn’t have a reservation due to our party we probably never would have gotten a chance to play.

This place is a total dive. It’s nearby where I work so I end up here occasionally with friends after work. Service is usually pretty slow but drinks are cheap. There’s 25% discount for delta employees on Thursdays. They allow smoking in both bar areas which stinks. Volleyball area is cool… it’s very busy when they have tournaments there.

love the volleyball court and most of the staff. Some of the staff Is rude. Tonight was a unique night. I have never been charged $ 5.00 for a picture of water or $ 2.00 for a bottle of water while playing volleyball during a tournament. An entire group was ordering drinks and several orders of food. This blew me alway!!! Very disgusted and may not go ever go back!

I visited this place and was not sure where to enter. However, upon entering, I could see it is a place where the locals hang out, which I enjoy. The kitchen fryer was broken so I could only order food that was grilled. I ordered a burger and it was grill the way I like. I tried a new drink and it was good as well. The only down side it that they allowed smoking which I do not like. But all and all it is a place I would visit early evening before the place it filled with smoke. I will return.

Good place. Good ambience. Good staff. Only problem is food quality and time it takes to serve. If management can work on quality of food and service time it can turn out to be very good place. I will have no hesitation adding one or may be two star after that. This place is nice to play outdoor volleyball and music and drinks are good to spent some quality time.

I called to ask about a fight and the manager told me she was very busy and could not help me. If that’s how you are treated over the phone I can only imagine in person

It’s a dive bar, it’s always pretty mellow. You can either sit inside, or on the back side of the building, where they have a tiki themed bar area. This is where you have access to the sand volleyball court(watch or play). Drinks are cheap, stiff and service always seems pretty quick. I believe they do karaōke some nights as well as book some bands other nights. If you just want your basic bar, this is it.
