The food was excellent! I ordered the braised beef pasta purses, and it only got tastier with each bite. Underneath the pasta purses was a layer of mushrooms and cheese with some type Of light sauce that really allowed the meal to blend well together. Reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is because the drinks, while tasty, were very weak, especially for the price. Overall I would definitely come back for the view and the food.

The Seabass is good. Presentation good. Service is less then party and attention to detail is missing. Dinner came prior to soup. Said I would take soup to go. They brought it to me right then. No condiments. Good food but will leave a lousy tip.

My husband and I spent a night at the Hyatt to celebrate our anniversary and chose to have dinner at the Polaris. We were there on a Wednesday night, which is half-price champagne night for them, so we got a bottle of Dom Perignon for a steal! Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, but she did drop the bottle of champagne when she brought it to our table. In my opinion, she should have replaced it with a different bottle, but I’m not one to complain over such a minor issue. It was a cloudy, rainy evening so we didn’t have the best views, but it was still fun to enjoy looking out over the city as we ate. I think my favorite part of the restaurant was that you not only get to see the city, but you also rotate around the open kitchen as well, which is a real treat. We had intended to order a full meal, but neither of us were very hungry, so we opted for the charcuterie platter and the Benton’s bacon popcorn. Every cheese and meat on the platter was delicious(even though we came to find out that our server added an extra cheese and upcharged us without telling us) and the popcorn was to die for! I would have given the Polaris 5 stars if not for the two issues with the service. The food and atmosphere were both lovely and we had a really great time.

Brandi and I ate here last night. We took a short post-holiday trip, and love to stay at the W Atlanta Downtown. Given that we’ve eaten at BLT Steak, we wanted to try something new, so after searching Unilocal and taking recommendations, we decided on Polaris. It was an excellent choice. Brandi had steak, I had monkfish. Both were fantabulous! The meat tray for arrived was good as well as the blue ball dessert. The atmosphere was superb, a 1960’s «future» experience. The wait staff all dressed like one might imagine a stewardess on James Bond’s aircraft. Atop the Hyatt Regency hotel, the entire restaurant rotates slowly, giving great views of the downtown Atlanta area. We enjoyed our meals, the décor and the experience. We will return.

Worth the trek up, solely for the views alone. The bar setup alone practically wingmans you into some of the best conversations. Share the skyline and a few cocktails with a friend or two.

I only came here for drinks, so I cant comment on the entrees. I did not know what to expect when I went up the elevator, but I was pleasantly surprised. More like a hotel lounge, with lots of couches and sofas. We got seated on one of these comfortable sofas and had a great view of Atlanta. It took about an hour for the entire thing to revolve. The menu is really nice and gives a bit of history of the building and Atlanta. They have their own smoked 12 year bourbon with Elijah Craig which they use in their drinks. House Aged Manhattan — 3⁄5 — a great classic cocktail that they use their own bourbon. A tad too much vermouth for my taste, but a great well balanced solid drink. Oak and Ginger — 4⁄5 — this was a delicious drink. it is made for two, which means it fills up about 2.5 glasses. It is a bit on the sweeter side, hint of ginger and bubbly, well balanced with bourbon, peach essence, island bitters, lime, and ginger beer. I would probably skip the Manhattan and get this again… but just for me… Gnocci — 1⁄5 — soo… maybe the taste isn’t really a one, but the decoration flower on the side of the plate had like 10 ants on it which ruined the dish… although none ended up in the food. When I told the waiter, he made some bad joke about farm to table and did not offer to replace the dish which I think is unprofessional. The gnocci it self was really dense and warrants a a two stars, the best part was the ham that it came with which was plentiful, I give it a 4⁄5 because of the revolving view of Atlanta, and will in the future be back with friends from out of town. For food and drinks probably a 2⁄5.

Very different from Houston’s Spindle Top: less like a restaurant and more of a lounge. Very relaxed atmosphere.

Polaris hits a home run every single time. The past two times that we celebrated a special occasion, Claude was an excellent waiter. Sure-fire win!

Four stars for the fabulous view and excellent service at the bar! Polaris had a lounge feel with an exposed kitchen, couches, and bar to drink and have some small plates. My friend and I split the steak Oscar which was very good, hf bread-the butter was the star of that choice, and the charcuterie board. Food was just ok but the ambiance is where it’s at!

Beautiful experience at Polaris. I went for dinner with my work colleagues. Between us we ordered several cocktails and mocktails(all pretty yummy from what I gathered), the hummus with pita, the lamb, the steak & crab, the roasted cauliflower and the Blue Dome dessert(I forget all the names). We had some vegetarians among us and the staff was very accommodating with preparing a dish according to their requests and dietary restrictions. I personally had the steak(cooked medium) & crab, which came with mashed potatoes, asparagus and butternut squash purée. Every component of the dish was delicious and paired well with each other. The Blue Dome was rich and chocolatey and could easily be shared between 2 – 3 people. Even though our drinks took a while to come, the waitress was sweet and checked on us often, and even the chef came out to ask how everything was. And yes the view is pretty nice too. The place has a classy ambience and is well decorated. Unfortunately I don’t usually associate the«upscale» places with great food, but Polaris not only had yummy food, but good portions as well. All at a reasonable price. Will definitely be coming back here in the future.

What to expect: 1. They do not take reservations, they typically get busy around 8 – 8:30P.M. Therefore, always expect to wait. 2. Park at the Hyatt Hotel(yes, it took a while to get our car once we were done eating, but at least it’s safer and more reasonable than paying for parking. You get the parking voucher stamped by a Polaris staff once you’re done dining so that you won’t have to paying for parking. 3. Due to Polaris changing their menu every 3 weeks, be prepared for something new. If you have questions, of course, give them a call Ordered: Steak Oscar and the Polaris Blue Dome as Dessert. Including tip and my ginger ale, this ran me $ 55(for just myself). However, the meal was truly delicious! If you have questions on pricing, check my photos for the current menu. The Oscar Steak was succulent and the temperature was prepared just the way I like it at medium rare The Bearnaise Sauce was also perfect! It pairs so well with the steak. The surprise was the cloud of mashed potatoes the steak was atop of! They prepared the dish like a piece of art. It was wonderful! The Myer Lemon Crab with asparagus tip. whoa! Absolutely delicious as well! Each bite of this meal was literally such a savory bite that I(plus my friends that went with me) truly enjoyed the entire experience! I am typically not a fan of desserts but decided to be adventurous since the entrée was so delicious. I ordered the Polaris Blue Dome that was fair trade chocolate mousse, rooftop honey caramel and flourless chocolate cake. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the mousse! And the honey caramel, wow. it was great with the mousse and cake. Though I admit, the white chocolate Polaris sign on top tasted like cheap chocolate which was a minus, and I personally would like there to have been a bit more of the flourless cake to balance out the amount of mousse and honey caramel. However, the taste was still delicious! This dessert is certainly enough to share with at least one other person, if you’re a light dessert eater then share with at least two other people. If you’re just unsure… look at my picture to see All of us had such a wonderful dining experience! Our server Armanda(I am not quite sure how to spell her name) provided us with excellent customer service. She was attentive and really helpful! If the opportunity arises, I will certainly come back!

Amazing meal and incredible customer service. I’m on this restricted health diet, which is very challenging. The chef(Rodney) came over and reviewed what I could eat. He spent a long time then got excited when I showed him the list of approved food. Omg the meal was delicious and gorgeous. You’d never know I am restricted with what I can eat! The view is spectacular, fun ambiance with the revolving restaurant, and great staff. I had just arrived from California and was so hungry. An excellent choice, I may duck out of my conference to return!

My boyfriend took me here a couple weeks ago for the first time to get some drinks and dessert(to celebrate my job transition!). Pretty fancy place. Prices are what you might expect(I mean, it is a rotating restaurant, after all). At first I couldn’t tell that we were moving at all, but after looking out the window, and then again a few minutes later I realized that we were most definitely moving! We sat at the bar, and the bartenders were pretty attentive. I don’t drink much and while the bartender I spoke to was happy to help me with suggestions, I think he was chuckling a little at how little I knew about wine. But based on a few questions he suggested a couple to me and let me taste them both before picking the one I liked. The bf got the Polaris dessert, which was some sort of chocolate mousse that was blue and shaped to look like the Polaris. He enjoyed it and thought it was the perfect size. We stayed for just about one full revolution. And it was nice to see the city of Atlanta slowly go by while we talked. They have N/S/E/W markers so you can tell which way you are facing. I though that was pretty cool, but then I’m kind of a nerd. There were a couple of TVs there(at least a couple that I could see from where I was sitting) and they were both playing Get Smart. I thought TVs were a little odd for the atmosphere, but I’m not going to argue when you play one of my favourite TV shows =). Don’t forget to have them validate your parking!

The margarita wasn’t good BUT it did have tequila in it! ;-) the humus was really good. The crab & filet was small BUT so yummy. The bread pudding was almost a perfect 10 but needed just a little some’n some’n. Service was great! Ambiance was rocking but so was the air… Burrrr. :-) would definitely go back! 5*s!

I have been to Polaris 3 times this year. Each time the food has been excellent but the experience changes depending on where you are seated. The space is like the Jestons meets Architectural Digest and the views are great. They don’t take reservations so seating is first come first serve. The first time we ate dinner at a lounge table. Comfortable chairs and a low cocktail table. Very cool party like vibe. The second time we went with another couple and were seated at a proper dining table right up against the windows… amazing. Last nite we went back and were given the choice to wait for a table or eat at the bar. We chose to eat at the bar to round out our Polaris experience. Wrong move… as non drinkers we felt the bartender was neglecting us, catering and engaging with his drinking clients. Don’t get me wrong… I love this place and will continue to return. I just won’t eat at the bar again. Valet parking which is validated by the restaurant and a private elevator up to Polaris. Check it out!!!

Polaris is an ideal spot to get spruced up for a special date night or girls’ night. It’s just so… COOL. To be frank, I had no idea that there was another revolving restaurant other than the Sundial. Polaris is like the Sundial’s younger, hipper sister. The parking situation: as far as I know, there is complimentary valet. You must get validated at the restaurant before you approach the cashier’s desk within the deck(Lower Level 3, I believe), but that was a nice surprise. I did not expect a place like Polaris to have basically free parking. There is a specific elevator for Polaris. You will see it within the center bank of elevators. The hostess is down there and will send you up to the 25th floor. The restaurant slowly revolves, making a full circle in 45 minutes. It was slow enough that I did not notice we were turning, but the minute I looked at the floor, I felt a bit of vertigo — yup, we were definitely moving. The kitchen is exposed, so it was really cool to be able to rotate around and see them — felt kind of like a show. The bars were located on the diners’ side, so they were rotating around with us. For my entrée, I ordered the Joyce Farms Tandoori Chicken. While it was tasty, I don’t believe it was worth $ 26. For one, the menu stated that it was served with basmati rice, but… what they served sure looked a lot like jasmine rice?! That was disappointing, because I do love my basmati rice. The chicken itself had quite a kick. Not so spicy that I couldn’t eat it, but definitely too spicy for those who typically prefer non-spicy. Portions were on the small side as well. It came with an eggplant curry that wasn’t spicy at all to me, it went well with the triangles of naan I received. I enjoyed the cucumber raita drizzled on top of my chicken, but wished there was more. For dessert, I had to get their namesake dessert, the Polaris Blue Dome, which was a flourless chocolate cake. The cake part was more a flat round disc that was covered with a dome of chocolate mousse, which was then dusted with the blue powder(not sure what kind of powder it was, but it didn’t have much taste to it). In the center, there was some nice liquidy caramel that wasn’t too sticky or sweet. Loved it! Unfortunately, we did not get to walk around much, but they did have a nice lounge-y area with a gold 3D geometric wall.

First I must say I found it a bit annoying that they don’t take reservations for parties smaller than 6. To get to the restaurant go to the lobby, even if you are a hotel guest and up in your room. The host is in the lobby outside the Polaris elevator. The restaurant is rather short actually. I didn’t realize this until I went to the Sundial restaurant another night of my ATL trip and looked down on top of Polaris. I therefore must say if you are looking to just do one revolving restaurant dinner skip Polaris. Polaris is on around the 25th floor and Sundial at the Westin on 72. Polaris’ menu was also surprisingly small. There were only 3 desserts, none of which hit my personal fancy. There were also only 5 entrees?! And the only way to get a steak was on a salad?! The menu just seemed odd to me. The food was good though. I ordered the steak(hanger) salad. The dressing was lemon based. The steak was cooked just how I requested it and the flavours all went well together. I suppose the prices were good too. I only paid $ 28 for my meal — that’s expensive for a salad, but super cheap for a steak(that goes for $ 55 at Sundial) so I guess I can’t complain. All in all the experience was just A-OK. I wasn’t wowed by anything — not the menu or the service(though I must say that while I liked the salad dressing my friend found it too lemony and the waiter insisted on giving us free dessert). The view was mostly fine, but for a good portion of the rotation of the restaurant all you see is cement buildings owing to the short height of the tower. As hotel restaurants go it is pretty awesome, but as high rise and/or revolving restaurants go, compared to all the other one’s I have eaten at, I was underwhelmed. While OpenTable lists the dress code as business casual — wear what you want to.

This restaurant/lounge is AMAZING! My husband & I decided to have a few pre dinner cocktails at the bar & the drinks were on point, some of the best I’ve ever had! The bartender was knowledgeable & made excellent recommendations. The ambiance was SOO romantic, from the scenery down to the music. This is my new favorite restaurant, we can’t wait to return! Side bar: we had shrimp cocktail & coconut cake, both were yummy!
