This has been our go to neighborhood restaurant for years, but tonight we had disappointing service and the food left a lot to be desired. What’s going on with the rude attitude and unprofessional service guys?

Music is often too loud. The food is great(especially the vegetables & salad) except for the turkey. They claim it is a «best seller» but it tastes like a pressed composite. Give it a shot.

The meat is prepared well and tastes great. That makes it all the more disappointing when you get a side of macaroni and cheese that tastes like it was poured out of a bag and heated up.

One of my favorite neighborhood spots. Good fast service. Food is quality, large portions and always seems fresh. The chicken is seriously so so good and they have a fantastic bbq sauce. Love their black bean soup, Mac n cheese and their bread is delish. I wish they stayed open a little later but overall solid place to go for a good meal.

Wasn’t all that impressed. Tried it cause it’s close to my house. Chicken wings were just alright. Cornbread was soggy and bland. The green beans were the best thing I ordered and they were just alright. Wouldn’t go back, there are better places 5 minutes down the road at Lenox.

Roasters was just OK for me I think I probably need to do a re-visit and order something different. I was invited here by a couple of friends during my visit here in Atlanta. When I arrived I was somewhat greeted by the hostess who assumed for whatever reason that I was meeting somebody else there and just pointed to the back. I wasn’t in much of a BBQ mood and I probably should’ve done the research on Unilocal before accepting my invite here. But the food was kind of bland I ordered this BBQWRAP and mac n cheese as a side. the wrap had lettuce in it that appeared wilted as well as the mac n cheese tasted like it may have been out of the box. From what my friends say they seemed to like the dishes they ordered so next time I should go for one of the BBQ chicken plates and or maybe even the ribs! Better luck next time!

My first visit wasn’t memorable but today, I was reintroduced by my coworkers and ordered the 4 plate veggies and fell in love! I loved the freshness and heartyness of the veggies! Cole slaw — delicious with just the right amount of mayo and acidity Chicken and rice, soup of the day — flavorful Baked sweet potato — pure deliciousness with natural sweetness Cheesy cauliflower — overly chessy, that I love. Just be cautious to not to drop it on your pants like me. Other than a bad stench when you first walk in the doors, everything was awesome!

In Atlanta for business and just wanted something casual, delicious, and affordable. Found Roasters on Unilocal and trusted the reviews. I must say, the food was great — delicious southern style cooking. Huge portions and lots of variety. I ordered a combo meal with ribs and pulled chicken, mashed potatoes, and turnip greens. The waiter also brought me a basket of cornbread and bread rounds. By the way, my waiter was very attentive and went beyond your average service. He checked on me often, made suggestions, and overall added a lot to my experience. No way I could have eaten everything but I’m happy to say that they did not sacrifice taste for portions. Also ordered their peach cobbler and was extremely impressed! Nice portion, it was warm, and, shockingly, the used real fresh peaches — not canned not frozen. I can truly say this will be one of my regular stops whenever I’m in Atlanta! Check out my pics. Eat here!

Fast casual restaurant for quick barbecue plates and family size meals. Roasters is a restaurant in the shopping plaza halfway between Buford Highway and Lenox Square on Lenox Road. The décor in the restaurant is nothing fancy. There are a few TVs if you want to come and watch football. Takeout ordering happens at the counter to the right of the entrance. There’s also a small bar next to the takeout counter. Highlights: Decent barbecue with fast service and very good value. The menu has appetizers, soups & salads, rotisserie chicken platters, meatloaf, pork ribs, and brisket. Specialties include grilled chicken, turkey, and country fried steak and chicken. Individual platters come with two sides and sandwiches come with one side. If you have a large group to feed, you can order family meals for 2 – 3, 4 – 6, or 6 – 8 people. I ordered a ¼ white slow-roasted rotisserie chicken meal with broccoli and cauliflower casserole, fried okra, and corn bread and a roll. The bread is included with the meal, but the server will ask you if you want it before giving it to you. My meal cost almost $ 9 over tax and came with generous portions. I liked the broccoli and cauliflower casserole — it tasted like mac & cheese, but with the macaroni replaced with vegetables. Critiques: I’d rate the rest of the food as average. The chicken wasn’t dry, but it wasn’t the moistest either. I’d say the same thing about the cornbread. I didn’t notice a lot of the seasoning on the chicken skin, which was also a little burned, but your meal comes with a side of barbecue sauce. The chicken is definitely enhanced by the barbecue sauce, so don’t eat the chicken without it. Overall: 3.5 stars for food, but I really liked the portion size for the price and how quickly my order was prepared. The restaurant was full at dinnertime, but my meal was still ready in less than 10 minutes.

Came to Atlanta this weekend for the first time and had no idea where to eat, luckily some locals recommended this amazing restaurant! Got there around 12:15 on a Sunday and luckily we came when we did because at 12:30 the restaurant was packed! Service was great. The manager/owner came around to every table and asked how everyone’s meal was. Our waiter was also very friendly. I ordered the country fried chicken which comes on mashed potatoes and I asked for the gravy on the side. It was AMAZING! I had never had country friend chicken before and before this I never even knew I liked gravy! The mac and cheese was delicious and the mashed potatoes were pretty good, too! My boyfriend ordered the chicken tender sandwich and he said it was just average, however I didn’t try it so I can’t comment on that specific meal. Overall, I would definitely return!

This place is some awesome comfort food for a good price. I’ve only been there once and ordered take out so I can’t speak to the service. However, I ordered the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes, cornbread, and broccoli cheddar casserole. It was freaking delicious. The chicken was nice and crispy, their white gravy had a ton of flavor, and it was some really tasty cornbread. For takeout, they had our order ready in less than 10 minutes, so pretty fast service especially for a Saturday night.

We came here after walking out of Burkharts — be sure to read THAT review. We were promptly seated at a table, and had excellent service from Tiffany, our server. Nothing to complain about here — the chicken wings were huge, the portions were generous, the brisket was coated with delicious sweet barbecue sauce, and the tea was outstanding. We will most definitely be back.

I wanted a window seat, so i got a window seat. You won’t find a better deal for southern food in Buckhead. I order the combo which you can choose from 2 – 3 different meat and sides. I chose the bbq ribs and the roasted chicken. Like all roasted chicken it should taste bland and chalk chewy. No, not this one, not the one i had at Roasters, it was season really good. They made sure the chicken tasted savory inside. Even though i asked broccoli to be steamed, it was undercooked. This place looked like a parlor, it was overcrowded and so was the parking lot. No, it’s not classy or fancy food, it’s traditional southern cuisine. Made to attract relax, casual people.

Food… fast…delicious! I have nothing bad to say at all. I am actually excited to write this review. My experience was that great, and unexpectedly so. I dined in shortly right before a meeting. I had 30 minutes or so and I needed to make it quick, needing something close. I saw the sign from Lenox Road and reminisced on my last time here(probably 7 years ago) and then remembered seeing a review recently and said to myself, «Self, turn here and go back to Roasters.» Now that you know how my brain works, let me share the experience. I was quickly greeted and seated by Kinsley, a bubbly big haired cute girl. She has a great spirit and gave me stellar service from beginning to end. I was not here long but was asked how was I doing, do I need anything or something of that nature no less than 5 times by her and the staff. Even the manager, pretty sure it was the mgr, swung by to make sure I was good. Yes, yes I am fine… totally not bothered at all, just loving the attention. Plus, the food ordered came out very fast. The bread arrived first… man I don’t need this but I totally want it. Taco Tuesday! Every Tuesday tacos are $ 2.50 each. I ordered a variety of 3 and enjoyed them all. The fish was my favorite, but it usually always is from anywhere… usually. The buffalo chicken was good as well, none of them being bad. I had my silverware, water filled, extra napkins, condiments and a nice setting all without asking. I was loving it. Quick, easy, extra good service and a pleasant experience. I did inquire to the mgr why it was so dark; so «romantical» for 6pm’ish. She explained they have the lights up for lunch and down for dinner. Makes sense. I was not complaining just inquiring even though she offered to turn them up. That is not necessary but thanks for offering. I ate and had pre-meeting phone conversations while watching a party across from me celebrate a birthday. Several members of the staff come out to do a quick song, nothing embarrassing. It will be hard for me to drive by again without stopping, even if it’s a To Go Order. I remember the wings being excellent but I was not in the mood this day. Next time. Thank you Roasters and staff. I left leaving behind a 50% tip to show my gratitude and later sharing the experience with all of you Unilocalers. Don’t sleep!

I can’t believe I’m just finding out about this place. Really my type of speed. Not a whole lot of fancy. Cozy inside. Got a full bar with a couple of tv’s off to the right when you first walk in. Enough patrons of folk having a good time. But let’s be real Unilocal! The food is off the chain. I can’t wait to go back. But before I get ahead of myself, the sides. I don’t think based off prior reviews and what I had, there is room for slippage. Meaning, the food is damn good. Creamy spinach, broccolli casserole, chicken tenders, rotisserie, excellent, simply excellent. They have a decent menu selection with turkey, chicken, ribs, a gang of sides. I’m diggin this place for a combo of reasons: Food, service, low key, fast, effective, friendly. Not expensive. Look forward to an update review so I can update you Unilocalers. Grade: A–

This looks like a cute casual spot. I did not eat in, I ordered to food to go. Plenty of friendly greeters once you walk in which was nice. You definitely get your bang for your buck here. I have the say the food was just ok but nothing to complain about. Someone said the best southern food in Atlanta, I have to say far from it. But overall pretty good. Here’s what I ordered. Meatloaf with 2 sides. Cost $ 10.95. The meatloaf comes with BBQ sauce it was pretty good but definitely needed the BBQ sauce. The sides I choose was brocolli and cauliflower cheese casserole and sweet potato soufflé. Both good sides, but for some reason the sides tasted much better the next day. Maybe because I was hungrier. Also ordered a whole chicken with 2 sides, rolls and cornbread. Cost was $ 16.95. Wow that was alot of food. So it you have a big family to feed, I say get this. I did not get to taste the chicken because I was stuffed from the meatloaf and sides even though I only ate ½ of the portion. My husband had the chicken and said it was good, but nothing special either. I love mac and cheese, so when they told me the combo came with 2 side I ordered 2 mac n cheese because I imaged the sides to be on the small side. Well the mac an cheese is NOT small, they come in plastic pint containers. now that’s alot of mac n cheese. It was not my favorite mac n cheese. It was more on creamy side rather than the cheesy side. When I ate the left over the next day I ended adding some extra shredded cheddar and then it tasted better to me. I still would come back to try other dishes. Also it’s really a great value. For all of the above I paid under $ 30. The amount of food I bought could feed 5 — 6 hungry people. So the next time I have visitors over and I don’t feel like cooking but still on budget… I’m coming here!

One of my favorite spots in Atlanta. As soon as I walked into the restaurant, I felt a very friendly and upbeat vibe. So far so good. Parking is easy too, as the restaurant is located in a shopping plaza. There’s a froyo place right across the way in case you’re feeling up for some dessert after. It was a rainy day, but they have a heated outdoor area, so we opted to sit there. Nothing fancy, but it’s a nice little outdoor area. The servers here are great. After 10 long minutes of indecision, I finally decided to go with the combo plate with ¼ dark chicken and BBQ beef brisket. For my sides, I got the mac n’ cheese and the sweet potato soufflé. All were phenomenal! These are my staple foods at any other southern restaurant, and I was very impressed with the quality and the flavors of the food here, especially. The sweet potato soufflé is some of the best I’ve ever had, and the mac n’ cheese was up there too. Surprisingly, it’s hard to find a restaurant that does mac n’ cheese right, but Roasters does just that. It’s the perfect consistency of creamy and cheesy and just simply deliciousness. The meats were tender and flavorful, and I was very satisfied with my meal.

Roaster’s is a nice casual neighborhood eatery with a comfortable unsophisticated dated décor. It was warm outside so we decided to eat at a wide booth by the covered outdoor heated patio. The wait staff was very prompt; fast and friendly. Before we even got the our seats a basket of bread and corn muffins appeared Along with huge glasses of water. The chicken and rice soup cup was out of This world tasty, will get a bowl Next time! House salad was ordinary and nothing memorable of the iceberg lettuce with hints of diced tomatoes and garlic croutons. For the main, perfectly roasted and delicious rotisserie chicken with a tangy barbecue sauce YUMYUMYUM! I have had mac n cheese in tons of places but I can tell you, there is something about the mac n cheese here that is AMAZING!!! Other sides of house rice and steamed broccoli were good. Roaster’s will definitely be having us return for simple, inexpensive and unpretentious rotisserie chicken meals! Shhhhhhhh Shush quiet! Their biggest secret is the sensibly portioned small peach cobbler; it is orgasmic! #FoodPorn

I loved all the side options they had! I was able to try the sweet potato soufflé, fried okra, and broccoli cheese casserole. Yummy. My entrée was the country fried steak, which was just basic. I don’t think I would order that entrée again since I am not a fan of steak that tastes/has the texture of ground beef. It’s just cheap to me and I was not expecting that. Overall, I highly recommend to order the side plates deal. You can get 3 or 4 sides for a certain amount of money. That would be more than enough food for a meal and very satisfying! Oh, and ORDERTHEFREAKINGSWEETPOTATOSOUFFLE, oh my god.
