Canned cheese sauce and slow to get the food. The woman working was sooo nice, but needed help. Have to say people eating the hotdogs from the stand next to this seemed a lot happier. The buttermilk chicken tacos were ok, but the toppings light and cold. I might check out the original location next time in ATL but will skip the airport location.

If I could I would probably give this place a giant 0. This abomination somebody decided was decent enough to be called a taco was a slap in the face. Not only was this the worse salsa I have ever had, it was also the smallest little tortilla, the hardest beef I have ever had to chew, and it was more than $ 5.(Mind you, the most expensive and delicious tacos you’ll ever have in Houston tend to be $ 2) I felt like it had been some kind of awful joke when I bit into the taco and recalled the sign that claimed The Original El Taco was voted«Best Mexican in Atlanta.» I highly doubt that the Mexicans in that city ever tasted such a deceiving piece of food. I highly doubt that anybody in their right mind spew such lies about this place. I would gladly take that sign down if I had the chance. That place is an insult to people who know savory from crap. This restaurant really doesn’t deserve the name it has. I’m appalled someone deemed this decent. Two thumbs down.

I liked the menu when I walked up. I know it is an airport and I know they have a captive audience but the prices are ridiculous, even compared to other airport restaurants. I got nachos. Let’s think about this. Chips, maybe a tiny scoop of beans, pickled jalepenos, tiny scoop of guac and sour cream. A cup of queso to go on top. Add a Coke and it was $ 15.00. They were pretty quick with the order. I was rested when I walked up. Good customer service. As for the food I really though it tasted pretty decent. Nothing at all bad. Nothing mind blowing. For airport food it was good. I would never anywhere else pay $ 15 for nachos and a Coke though. That alone knocks it down a star.

Great find of fried chicken burrito while visiting the south and waiting on the airport.

A welcome sight in the Southwest terminal [C] in ATL, El Taco definitely KIS with individual menu items and combo deals that help you score the inoffensive, thick red salsa and chips. My go to is a shrimp taco and vegan taco, but the fried chicken does sound appetizing. Make sure you grab a few napkins and plastic cutlery, as the corn tortillas can fall apart and get a little messy.

Love this place! Get the buttermilk fried chicken or shrimp tacos! Those are my favorite! The wait was short, the food was good, the pricing was… airport typical. I have been craving these tacos, so next time you are at ATL, pick one up for me!

ATTENTIONPREVIOUSREVIEWERS: 1. This establishment is located in an airport, by definition you are not going to get a cheap meal. 2. The portions aren’t gargantuan, they are in fact reasonable. 3. The food is simple, fresh and cooked yo order. Had the Buttermilk Fried chicken and Shrimp Fuego taco, with a side of rice and beans for $ 10. Hot, fresh and tasty! If you want more empty, processed and heat-lumped calories, there are plenty of options throughout the airport, knock yourself out.

I’d eat elsewhere, vegetarians. There are 2 options here — vegan mercado tacos and a cheese quesadilla. I went with the tacos and they were not only pricey at nearly $ 4 per taco but they simply weren’t good. The tortilla was unevenly cooked, the sauce tasted unfresh, and the ingredients were somewhat mushy. This is disappointing even for airport food.

This was a disappointing experience. My order, one ground beef taco and one pork and salsa verde taco. Many extras offered to me at additional cost… Including sour cream which I’m sad didn’t automatically come with it. The ultimate sadness was unwrapping my little silver parcel to find a soft wrap rather than a crispy shell. Boo hoo. I already feel cheated. The pork taco was gross. Lumps of pork, rather than pulled shreds and lots of liquid from the salsa running out of the wrap. The ground beef taco was nicer, but very greasy. I think I could have better spent $ 10!

Carnitas and fried mahi mahi tacos tasted great! Really enjoyed the light meal of two tacos before the flight. Flavorful, moist, sure beat my expectations. Glad i chanced upon this place since the neighboring pei wei was too busy. Prices are on high side so maybe best for expense account travel.

I wish I could giv zero stars. I will NEVER go bak to this place again & I work n the airport. 1st I feel robbed. 2 vegan mercado tacos & a Sprite & I paid $ 9.99, that’s w/a discount. The tacos tasted ok but incredibly overpriced. The bottled Sprite was astronomically expensive($ 2.59). I was n such shock about the price that I failed 2 get the young lady’s name that was working the counter & all her employee friends standing around cussing(loud) & playing around. They obviously need a CUSTOMERSERVICE refresher class. Save yr money & go get a FULL meal & better service from sumwhere else!

Portions miserably small but at least they carry glass bottles of soda they won’t let you take(because they’re glass) without pouring them into a cup first. Ridiculous idea. The small $ 5 pork taco I was served was delicious… And gone in 2 bites. Rip off portions folks… Move along.

Others have said 5 bucks a taco is pricey and I get it. But remember this is the airport. Maybe if they lowered to like 4.25 or 3.75 it wouldnt feel as painful. I got the buttermilk chicken and it had a generous pieces of meat and filling in general. I would definitley get it again. The steak taco was ok but also decent size good amount of meat the flavor just wasnt as impressive. I wish I would have tried one of the seafood options or at least ordered the mango habanero on the side I think that could have made the steak taco more enjoyable. I ended up not eating the chips and salsa it came with. I was getting on the plane and the salsa just looked blah and chunky.

Edible reasonably quick and not terribly over priced. I did breakfast here during a layover. It was fine not good but not bad like a fast food breakfast burrito I would expect. In a jam sure…

Dear vegans, they have a taco for you. It’s not the greatest vegan taco but it actually has interesting flavors. I think if the chef had more love for his job it would come out incredible. Maybe he is underpaid! Anyways happy to find a vegan option on the Southwest terminal, check it out.

The fare is really overpriced for what you get, but the chicken in the buttermilk chicken taco was pretty tasty. The corn and tortilla combined with the chicken was a little weird. The queso grande quesadilla is actually really good but not worth the $ 7 or $ 8 it cost. The staff tucked napkins inside each container, which I thought was a nice touch.

Execution flaws! It pains me to see how awesome this place can be, but how bad execution is holding them down. Close to $ 5 for a taco — holy hell! The menu said each came individually wrapped(which was true) but I had to ask to make sure that the pricing was per taco and when the lady nodded her head, I cringed inside. Regardless, I picked the shrimp and the grilled chicken with a side of rice(no beans). I paid over 11 bucks for my food — not happy with the amount of food I received. I agree — they skimped with the taco ingredients and the execution of my tacos itself was sloppy :(I also agree with other reviewers that service was good — smiling and informative. Now for the food. The shrimp taco totally had great flavors — the mango, the spicy sauce and shrimp were very yum. But again, the cheese was not melted and then spicy sauce was stone cold — made for slightly uncomfortable eating with the hot shrimp. The pollo asado had some good grilled chicken, it had no cilantro(blasphemy in the taco world acc to me) and had some wilted salad added as an afterthought. Definitely not a fan of this one, even though the chicken itself was tasty. Again, this taco too was grossly under stuffed if you will. The rice had no seasoning and had too much oil. So this made me kinda mad — wouldn’t you at least make the usual Mexican dirty rice!!! Plain rice, slightly undercooked, over oiled and no seasoning?! NO, thank you! In hindsight, I should have picked the chips and salsa as my side. But honestly, this place is wayyyy too pricey for an airport to-go even! Wish they would fix their prices and stop being miserly and hard hearted about what they serve — some of their flavors are great, they could do very well!

Small tacos with a big price. Taco were almost $ 5 each and there was not enough meat, topping or sauces to pay $ 2 each. My boyfriend went to Chick-Fil-A and got a whole meal cheaper then I paid for 2 tacos. I tried it and will not go back!

Airport food is airport food: I am always pretty grumpy whenever I plan poorly and in fact have to purchase the often overpriced fare in airport terminals; but I caved today, with less than fantastic results. Service was great! The cashier was polite and detail-oriented in making sure she had my order exactly right; the young lady who filled my order and handed me the takeout bags was equally friendly and pleasant. However, the FOOOD… was mediocre at best. I liked my salad well enough(see picture), with its pickled onions,(paucity of) shredded cheese, and grilled corn kernels. However, it did seem like some of the lettuce was a bit wilted, and the«pico de gallo» that was supposed to top the salad amounted to maybe a tablespoon. Of the two dressing options offered me(chipotle ranch and something else with a limey vinaigrette), I chose the vinaigrette and regretted it. The salad was definitely better than the vegan taco, however, which maybe should have been called«everything vegan but the kitchen sink», while the beans and onions and X amount of other things might have been good on their own, those items were all muddled together and smushed in a flavorless corn tortilla. The price wasn’t great either, though I guess it was downright affordable for the amount I ordered: 3 tacos, 1 salad for $ 22 after tax. This is about enough to feed 1.5 people, by the way.

They do a great job on flavorful tacos… Lamont was super friendly and was helpful on me picking selections Only fail was they were kinda skimpy inside the tacos. Tried the shrimp tacos which were fantastic habanero mango sauce was more than outstanding flavor! Fajita tacos were the bomb too. Beef spicy tacos were ordered too, I was told were wonderful :) Rice and chips n salsa average!
