Last night I went to Uptown’s to celebrate our 4 year wedding anniversary. I definitely did not have a horrible experience but I can’t give it 4 stars. However, I will say the good outweighed the bad. Only complains that I have were the parking, the temperature of the venue, and bathroom. The price to park jumping from $ 20 to $ 10 if you park 20 feet farther and either way you have to park the car yourself. The venue was freezing cold and didn’t seem to warm up until we were ready to leave. The bathroom… This is the main reason why the stars were taken away. The bathroom hall smelled like raw sewage and the bathroom didn’t look like its been cleaned in years. Again the good did outweigh the bad. The comedians was hilarious and the hosts was funny as well. The food wasn’t the worst, but then again I ordered chicken fingers and that’s pretty hard to screw up. I also keep in mind that this wasn’t a restaurant. My view of the show was great. I recommend arriving early to get the best seating. My service was also great, but that is also the advantage of arriving early. Overall I had a great time and I will be back.

First time here. I always get the texts for free entry, but have cash ready for the parking($ 10-$ 25) and the 2 item minimum. The food was ok. It wasn’t exactly hot. The chicken wings were tiny and the«large» fry was barely enough for one person. The comedy show was well put together and the wait staff, although not the friendliest, did their job.

It’s a comedy club. Looks like every comedy club I’ve ever been in. The food was good though aside from French fries there was only 1 vegetarian option. But I get that maybe I should eat 1st. But you have to satisfy a cover. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because I had to pay for my tickets and the people at my table got in free. If you pay and there are free tix out there… Then You shouldn’t have to pay a cover.

I love the comedy and I’ll definitely be back. I did not eat but I had two drinks. They were good but I don’t like the fact that you can’t see the bar or where the drinks are made. It was 41 degrees outside and that’s what it felt like inside. There seems to be no heat.

Well where do I begin. Our group is always into a good comedy club. Not knowing the area, being from Alabama and Mississippi here for the SEC Championship against Florida, we wanted to have some laughs. Well we are all white. There were a few other white people here as well. Let me tell you we had the best time. Of course we were singled out, which was all good. My jaws still hurt from laughing so hard. The best line of the night was when one of the comedians asked our names. Went through the drill and our friend said my name is Mike, Mike Jones. Crowd went nuts as well as the comedian and yes this is his real name. Asked what we do for a living. Michael is an architect. Now we are talking about how to help ur place out. We aren’t afraid to step outside the box. Awesome time and many laughs with my bros.

Went here last night with a group to see Michael Blackson. It is right next to a strip club. Parking is easy. There is only one person at will call booth so be prepared to wait. Once inside, we got a table with no problem. We ordered appetizers and drinks. Drinks were well made but mainly just ice served in cheap plastic cups. Fries were also just barely warm and some soggy. There is a $ 10 minimum spend. I asked for a 2nd drink but server never brought it out. I would not come back here unless a comedian I really want to see is performing. But I would really think hard about it. Also note that the DJ repeatedly tells the audience to tip your server even though they automatically add a 15% fee to your check. Not cool. Also the repeated requests to clap for the previous act gets annoying.

The food was not good. The drinks were watered down. But the comics were funny. I would go back.

it saddens me to leave this review, bc i was hoping to leave zero stars, but hey… whatever: the two times i’ve been there, the acts were great!!!(let’s just get that out of the way upfront!!!) however, the service has been consistent with being horrible!!! & what’s worse is the gratuity is already included!!! you can expect to wait at least 30 mins before any staff even approaches you for a drink,(let alone a damn meal!!!) & please… by all means: make sure you don’t venture on the drink menu, b/c no matter how disgusting & full of sugary syrup they are… they are non-refundable,(& that, my dear will most definitely not be disclosed to you prior to ordering!!!) the food there shouldn’t ever be served to anyone, not even if it were free!!! this place sucks!!! i’d rather pay not to go there!!!

This place has the best comedy in Atlanta, no doubt. I can definitely see why people wouldn’t like this place. It looks run down, you have to pay up to $ 20 to park, the menu is crap and the drinks all taste like jungle juice and you have to get two of them. But when those comics get to the mic, it really doesn’t matter anymore. I had a BALL! I was in tears within the first five minutes. And that’s why I went so, I can’t really complain, I enjoyed myself and would go back in an instant with even more people.

My man and I really enjoyed ourselves! We got VIP tickets from Living Social for $ 20($ 25 each normal price)! I was not crazy about the price of parking. We had 3 choices, $ 30 valet, $ 15 non valet that was feet away from $ 30, or $ 10 non valet that was feet away from the $ 15. Anyway, all the comedians were good! We were in the front row! If you are planning to go be prepared to order at least two menu items per person, or be charged $ 10. So basically if you and your date order one item each, you’ll be charged $ 10 extra.

I’ve been here a couple of times. My experience here has been inconsistent. The first time it was great. The food was great and it came quick and we had good drinks. Everything was on point. The second time we bought VIP seats. It’s weird but the general admission seats have a better view of the stage than the VIP section. There was what looked like dried up barbecue sauce on my chair. We ordered wings and got a basket of the smallest wings that I’ve ever seen in my life. I should mention that there is a 2 item minimum.

Waste of time! We arrived at UCC around 9:30 pm to see the 10 pm show. Valet parked for 20 bucks. Got in line and said ok we are good we are in a good spot in line. After standing in line until about 10 pm the line in front of us begin to grow lol!!! So my boyfriend was like lets just go hit up a hookah lounge. I was like well the show starts at 10 we should be going in soon. Ha ha ha we stood In line for yet 40 more minutes. Keep in mind it was supposed to start at 10pm. I again took a look at he front of the line and realized we were now probably number 120 in line. We ended up leaving without seeing the show. This place needs new management!!! I gave it one star only because it wouldn’t allow me to post this review.

Lackluster venue, even worse customer service. I went to this dilapidated comedy club this evening for the 12:30am Bill Bellamy show. When we got to the will-call window to receive our tickets we were told by the nasty-attitude man who sits behind the window that there was not going to be a 12:30am show and he did not have any explanation as to why. He offered us the option of waiting and seeing someone else’s comedy show(whom he could not name, because he didn’t know). Or… we could be refunded for our tickets. Or… we could return tomorrow for the Sunday night 9pm show(but he couldn’t guarantee if Bill Bellamy would be performing). We opted for the refund. When we asked if there was at least a cancellation number for the refund he said, «you’ll get your money back.» In retrospect, what was I expecting from a dump like that? Won’t be going there again. And I CERTAINLY will not be trying to see Bill Bellamy ever again. That was bad customer service! Bill should be ashamed of himself… and so should the Uptown Comedy Club.

Saw John Witherspoon Live here, and what I can say is the parking is too much, there is a two item minimum on top of already paying for VIP seats at the show. Speaking of VIP, you’ll do better buying regular seats and just getting there early, since those seats are square in front of the stage and the VIP is off to the side. Overall not bad, but you’re going to spend a bit in here if you want the full experience and personally, its not worth all that.

Sitting here waiting for the show to start and astounded by the two item/$ 10 min. purchase. We paid for VIP tix, only to be told we also have to order the min. Also, you can’t have regular water in VIP, by the way regular water is $ 3.50, but in VIP you have to have Voss water which is $ 6.50/bottle…do you know how much water I can buy for $ 6.50??? Anyway, the food is less than subpar. I ordered the philly cheesesteak and it is beyond DRY!!! I told the waitress and she asked if I used the condiments… you shouldn’t have to use condiments in order for food to be good. Now I’m sitting here upset after paying for food that’s not good. I understand the concept but if I’m required to purchase it, at least let it be good!

VIP is really not VIP. The lady at the door told us to have a seat at any table with a reserved sign. We sat down and moments later, a guy from the club walks up to us to tell us that we had to move. He was very rude and disrepectful as he repeated that we needed to move now because the table was reserved for another person. We found seating at a table near by without his assistance. Minutes later the lady he sat at the table got up and relocated to another table. The table sat empty most of the show. Watch out for gratuity automatically added on your receipt detail. When they bring you the check to sign they change the gratuity line to «service charge» and then a tip line. Finally, bathrooms were filthy. Ladies try to hold it if you can. Don’t think I will be back.

Comedians were good, but service was absolutely horrible. $ 30 parking to park right next to the building and yes you park your car, it’s not valet… opted for the $ 10 parking, literally 50 feet from the main parking. We came in and say down, and couldn’t find our waitress. The other waitresses ignored us in our attempts to get their attention. Fifteen minutes later, she appears. She asked me about having cheese on my Turkey burger and I said no, but when the order came out there was cheese on it, so I said I asked for no cheese. My friend got her wings and I waited for 30 minutes for my food to come out and before I saw our waitress again. I informed her that I was still waiting for my food. She brought it out still with cheese on it, but I was so hungry I just ate it. I asked for more ketchup and ended going to the kitchen to get it on my own. Then the bill came and my friend got charged for three orders of wings, when she only had one, and I got charged for cheese I didn’t ask for. So more time spent correcting everything. Just horrible wait staff.

Is parking really $ 30.00. Yeah I didn’t even get in the door, who’s gonna pay that kinda $$ to park!!! Not only that the parking attendant was rude and yelled at me. DEFINITELY will not be back.

A MONEYTRAP… VIP — WHAT A JOKE! Do not even waste your monry on it. The general admission seats are better. The service was TERRIBLE. Our table was overlooked for 55 minutes because none of the waitresses were assigned to it. although, I asked several to take our order they resisted and most were down right rude. FINALLY, I found one of the managers who assigned a waitress(one that I had asked to wait on us earlier). She was really nice and we compensated her well. Thanks to Paul and Gregory for a great comedy show but we will not be back!

I’ve been to Uptown quite a few times. I can only give it a 3 star(even though, if I could give half stars, I’d probably rate it a 3.5) rating because of the club itself. I never have trouble laughing at the talent in the club on any particular night I’ve come. This past weekend I came to see Corey Holcomb. The host and most of the comedians before him were very funny. Corey Holcomb has a raw sense of humor so while most of the club laughed, I may have chuckled or not found much funny but he’s very entertaining. My issue with UCC is they MAKE you spend at least $ 10, after you’ve already purchased tickets. There’s a 2 item minimum or a $ 10 surcharge per person. How can you MAKE me buy something? Maybe I’m not hungry or thirsty. My last visit here, I ended up getting 2 orange juices just because I had to get something! The fries are the cheapest food item and the cheaper beer is $ 5. It’s pretty good to know what you’re getting into before you go. If the talent is worth it, I’ll return but they can keep their free tickets for the low budget comedians since I’ll have to spend $ 10 or more anyways… They need better club management.
