Wonderful !! This was our third visit to this restaurant & we love it !! Brian & Kim are a fabulous team and go the extra mile to assure the best service !! Food is delicious & being vegetarian, the chef prepared a delicious pasta dish for me. Dessert was fabulous & overall, a 5 star experience !!

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Il Verdi. I went here with my boyfriend and friend for restaurant week and every item we had was perfect. I had the Caesar salad for my first course which wasn’t overly dressed and the Parmesan crisps were a great addition to the salad. My boyfriend had the caprese and my friend had the chicken soup and they said both were great. We all had filet mignon as our entrees and they were so tender and juicy. The Demi was flavorful and the roasted fingerling potatoes and fennel paired nicely with the flavors in the sauce. We all had tiramisu for dessert and it was some of the best I’ve had. My only regret is not being able to eat more because I was too full! The espresso came with rock candy for sugar which I always think is a nice touch. Our server was very attentive and our glasses were never left empty. Everyone was polite and pleasant. The restaurant week menu was $ 33.16 for three courses which is fantastic. I know the regular menu would be higher in prices but it’s a nice venue for a night out or nice dinner. I highly recommend Il Verdi and look forward to returning.

We went for a dinner long weekend trip with my boyfriend in late August. Service was great, waiters were attentive and chatty. Ambiance was nice, the restaurant was pretty full but still quiet. Food was my issue — my boyfriend had Veal Saltimbocca and I had penne in cream sause. Both dishes were tasteless — the veal was bland and needed more salt. The pasta was well cooked but again — needed more salt in the water it was boiled in. Might give it another try next summer, but wouldn’t hold my breath.

We had an early reservation. Restaurant is in the Tropicana. We couldn’t have asked for a better meal. They offer a 3 course Prix Fix menu for $ 35 that some in my group took advantage of. Brian, our waiter and his assistant Kim, were beyond professional. Granted the restaurant wasn’t busy, but the behaviors that they displayed showed their professionalism. I had the Veal Osso Buco entrée, from the specials menu, over a Parmesan risotto. It was juicy and tender, as was the bone marrow in the center. All bottles of wine were 50% off. The prices are already inflated, you are in Atlantic City after all, so $ 30 for Pinot Grigio Santa Margarita is a good deal. Would highly recommend.

While the restaurant and food were high quality, the service at this restaurant did not give us a pleasant experience. We had an 8pm reservation on a Saturday night for 2 guests and waited almost 45 minutes for a table. There were several other parties in the same situation who also seemed visibly upset. When we finally did get seated, our waiter seemed overly busy and inattentive. When ordering, we told our waiter that 1 of us had a gluten & dairy allergy. We asked if the Penne Bolognese would be safe to eat, to which our waiter replied yes & that he would substitute the gluten-free pasta. When it arrived, we were dismayed to see cheese on top of the dish(as that is obviously dairy) and that the pasta sauce seemed slightly creamy. We removed the cheese and decided to trust our waiter that the dish was safe to eat as we were starving from the wait. On our way out, we spoke to the hostess and manager to ask if the Penne Bolognese had cream in it, to which they confirmed yes. We told them that we had specifically informed our waiter about a dairy and gluten allergy and that my friend was now feeling sick. We did not get offered any type of discount or formal apology, and we left very unpleased and to a convenience store for some medicine for my friend. We were lucky that my friend’s allergy reaction wasn’t more severe, but it is very important that the restaurant be more careful with their guests’ dietary restrictions when they are made aware before ordering and are not providing guests false and potentially dangerous information.

My family loves this restaurant so much that we actually stay at the Tropicana when we come to AC to easily eat here, which we sometimes do more than once per stay. This time, I had the red snapper filet with the capers and artichokes. Like a party of different flavors in my mouth! I also enjoyed the fennel, parmesian and orange salad. The service is always excellent and they are very attentive and professional. The ambiance is warm and comfortable, never leaving me feeling rushed. I always look forward to my next visit.

Probably one of my favorite restaurants ever. Any time I am in AC I make sure I get a stop in here, especially if my parents are paying!!! I have been coming to il Verdi for as long as I can remember(probably since I was 5), and can only remember one bad experience in all of those years. The food is always awesome, and they do not hesitate to customize any food of your choice, even most times getting food that is not listed on the menu or as a special. They staff always goes above and beyond to satisfy your desires. Do not miss out on this gem and do not forget to make a reservation!

I am glad we picked this place. I am so happy they accept reservations . With that reservation we walked right in . Our waiter was very polite and explained the menu well, his recommendations were dead on . I had the Sea bass and shrimp special WOW!!! rocked my taste buds . My lady had a pasta with crab(fancy name) which I can’t remember, but that was delicious. Please try the French martini it’s awesome. Dinner for 2 $ 170 dollars including tip . The only minus is thAt is too dark and it needs a little updating, the menu I though is not very understandable. Else I would have given it 5 stars . Go here it a very good restaurant

My mother took me to Atlantic City on an overnight Sunday to Monday for my birthday. We stayed at the Tropicana and decided to stay and eat in the hotel. We chose il Verdi for my birthday dinner. This was our first time. For an appetizer we shared Spiedini which my mother loves. It was good(not my first choice). I don’t like anchovy sauce so she had that and I used marinara. Any time I go to a nice restaurant that has scallops, I almost always get the scallops and I did this time as well. They were served over polenta. My mother ordered their take on Veal Saltimbocca. We also got a side order of grilled asparagus and mushroom risotto(this was more for me and it was fabulous). My mother thought the veal was good but a little tough. She had to ask for a steak knife. The portions were large and we both had our leftovers wrapped up. For dessert I had a yummy white chocolate raspberry gelato and a cup of decaf tea. Our waiters, David and Michael, brought the gelato to the table with two candles and sang happy birthday. Very sweet :-) My mother a decaf cappuccino. The ambiance was very nice I would like to go back and try something different.

Went here for dinner last night. And luckily it was the last day for AC restaurant week so we took advantage of that. 3 course menu for 33.15 a person. I had the salad caprese, filet mignon, and Tahitian vanilla crème brûlée. I enjoyed all three dishes. I normally do not order filet mignon but I’m glad I did because it was cooked very well. I was able to cut through the meat with no problems and it was moist. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Tropicana. I will definitely come back in the future.

The four of us were in AC for a conference. Chose to eat here. Glad we did. Our waiter Mark was great. He was attentive. He explained things to us. He checked on us often. Dishes were removed promptly and taken off floor immediately. There were several assistant waiters bustling around constantly. The food was great. I had the filet. I asked for it medium to medium well and Mark explained that the kitchen tends to overcook so it is better to err on the medium side. I did and the steak was perfect. Tender and just slightly pink. Another had the salmon topped with crab. I eat a lot of meals with this person and he is hard to please. But he enjoyed his food as well. We went during restaurant week in AC, just because it was happening. There were special menu items because of this. Nice option. The downside to that was the ½ price wine on Sunday and Monday wasn’t available. But that is a good deal because the price the wine to encourage bottle buying(meaning two and a half glasses equals a bottle, where most restaurants use a four glass to a bottle ratio). Our waiter explained all this to us, but we couldn’t agree on wine, so we each got our own glasses. The restaurant is upscale, dress accordingly. It is a bit hard to find in the casino, but worth it when you do. Only complaints were restroom is in casino, the place is hard to find, and having to walk through smokey casino to get there. Absolutely no complaints about the restaurant itself.

Extremely bland food. This was very sub par for a high end italian restaurant. Had pasta with clams, cioppino and calamari. All I can say is a place that markets themselves as a high end restaurant really needs to improve the quality of their food. I would have given it 1 star but the waiters were very friendly and it had a nice atmosphere. Food quality was worse than Olive Garden(and I hate Olive Garden) and twice the price. Not worth it. Go to Carmines instead if you’re at the Tropicana.

We had a great time here! Half of our party got held up & they kindly moved our reservation back with no issues. Our servers, Brian & Kim were both sweet, funny & friendly, took care of all of our needs without being intrusive & gave us some nice recommendations. Dinner was good– the tasting menu on Sundays is $ 35& has a nice selection AND it’s half price bottles of wine– we didn’t know any of this when we went but it was a nice plus! The three ladies ordered the tasting menu & the gents ordered off the menu. The salads were good, fresh and nicely dressed. The Saltimbocca was well prepared & my husband said his steak was perfect. Two of our friends had fish dishes & both were very happy. All of the entrees were beautifully presented & bountiful but not a ridiculously large portion even though my husband and I still took some home. Dessert came with the tasting menu & we had mentioned our friend had her birthday tomorrow earlier in the meal– they dressed up her dessert so nicely & added candles to sing Happy Birthday. The wine menu had nicely priced red wines that were very tasty. We enjoyed a $ 30 multipulcciano that was flavorful and light to accommodate the variety of dishes we ordered. I’d go here again. I didn’t give it five stars for small issues like the kooky old décor(but clean), the vintage of the 2007 wine we ordered came as a 2011 but we didn’t bring it up as it was the same vineyard, type & brand(and tasted good). They sat all of the tables really close together despite there being a decent sized area at the end of the dining room that went unused as our area was clustered together(presumably because it was the end of the night & those tables were set & ready for the next day.) All in all a place that I would go again.

Horrible. If I could give half a star I would. The food was horrible. The service was even worse. We had a table of 4 next to us that got up and left bc of the service. We had another table next to us where the waiter apologized because he never took their order and they were sitting there forever, he used some lame excuse. We were never checked on, only brought out food. The atmosphere was horrible. We were seated at a table next to the hall where people walked in and out of the restaurant. And there was a tray of dirty dishes and food left out behind me in the middle of the restaurant for a good 30 minutes. Disgusting! This place was a waste of our money. $ 200 wasted. What a disappointment.

She said…“This is definitely our favorite place to eat out at in AC. Every time we come we are always satisfied. The food here is always so good, everything we have tried so far. Our last visit we got the special kobe filet over risotto and broccoli rabe. 60 $ a plate but worth it… it was extremely good. The risotto here is always fabulous and the kobe steak was amazing.” He said.”

We had the calamari for an appetizer, absolutely the best calamari I’ve ever had and would recommend it to anyone. However, I also ordered the filet mignon. It was over cooked the first time. So dry it was barely edible. The second time I received it, it was completely under cooked. The service was exceptional though. Maybe stick to pasta or traditional Italian dishes when ordering here. I only give in three stars because of the service and calamari otherwise I would have given it a one because of the steak issue.

Very much enjoyed our recent dinner at iL Verde at the Trop. The tasty salads were fresh and interesting(the one w/pomegranate dressing & pears is wonderful), the bread was crusty, and the delicious entrees were prepared by a chef who knows what he’s doing. My husband had Linguini and Clams, and I had a meal with crab and pasta that was baked to perfection although I cannot recall the name. Our waiter was personable and very efficient. My husband and I are looking forward to a return visit to this upscale Italian restaurant.

Food: The free bread was awesome. The roasted garlic and italian peppers were covered in olive oil made it extra tasty. Appetizers were a mixed bag. We got a bunch of appetizers and shared. I remember the salads being being pretty plain. All the appetizers didn’t taste as good as they looked. Their house wine is a merlot that is not too sweet. I think it was $ 40 a bottle. Meh. I’m a cab fan. I got the $ 24 crab cake pasta. Imagine a crab cake crunched into bits then baked with pasta. I love crabs so it was delicous to me. There was a good amount of crab and the portion was pretty big. Décor: Marble intrance and quiet setting. I like it. It’s weird that they don’t have a bathroom. I had to walk out of the restaurant and go to the casino floor to find one. Service: Excellent server. Explained the food and drinks very well. Would I come here again? Probably not. The overall bill per person was kind of high. I enjoyed my dish but felt like AC has other places to offer.

We went here for dinner this past saturday night while staying in AC. We wanted something somewhat fancy, and appealing to several different types of appetites/taste buds. Along with it being a very busy Saturday night, Il Verdi was the only place that had spots open for dinner reservations at the Tropicana, where we were looking to spend the rest of the evening. The restaurant is right off the casino floor, not in the newer Quarter section of the Trop– it’s almost blink and you’ll miss it, but it’s down a marble hallway so you can’t really hear the hub-bub of the outside. We were seated quickly and our server came to take our drink order. Our server was super friendly and asked us what brought us into town and suggested checking out the rest of the casino, which we were planning to do. We all ordered and he brought out fresh crusty bread and roasted garlic, butter, and hot italian peppers for us to nosh on while we waited for our entrees. Our main courses were pretty decent. We had actually eaten a ‘first dinner’ since we didn’t eat anything all day, so despite being a little full, I managed to eat a fair amount– the portions are pretty huge and substantial, so if you can bring home the rest for a hungover snack. I had the paparadell with tomatoes, sausage, broccoli rabe, and some other goodies. My friend had the gnocchi, and my other friend had the mussel appetizer as her main. For a dinner plus dessert– their fruit tart, which was ok– the shortbread crust was yum, nothing too crazy, it was about 70 bucks. The décor is a little eccentric– think black marble, glass doors(which at one point a drunken patron of the casino pressed his body up against, somehow sneaking into the restaurant), and black chandeliers alongside gold and white wall paper and generic italian-ish vintage framed art. It’s a bit 80s ish and somewhat dated, but defnitely a good value, especially if all the other restaurants at the trop are fully booked.
