Came with two friends for a very nice dinner. Between the three of us, we ordered various drinks and dishes, and were happy with all of them. Service was great at the bar. It was not busy at all, which probably helped with the personal attention. Trattoria salad was huge, lightly dressed, with fresh ingredients. Received high review. I had the Mediterranean Seafood salad appetizer, which was just a mix of fresh seafood in a light lemon vinaigrette. Mix of calamari, clams, crab, and shrimp was refreshing, over a bed of frizee. I was very happy with this. Bowl of garlic and oil mussels looked great. Ribeye steak was cooked perfectly. Obviously this is a great Italian restaurant, but they prepared the steak as if a steakhouse. I had the Orecchiette, which had broccoli rabe and sausage. This is the one dish I probably would’ve chosen differently. Nothing wrong with the dish, but it didn’t stand out. With a list of a dozen other pasta dishes, there were almost too many choices. We had a bread basket with oil and salt/pepper. We wished the bread was warm. A dirty martini, a gin and tonic, and a beer were all consumed with good reviews. We were all stuffed from our meals, there was no room for dessert. For the high level of preparation, the price is very reasonable, especially since the restaurant is in a casino. I highly recommend eating here for any occasion.

We picked this place to have dinner at for the second night of my bachelor party before the real shenanigans began and it was a hell of a choice. It was a great deal that they offered and they kept up with great service the entire time. We had a private room, with a limited menu, and it was all on point. Included in our price was open bar, and we all took full advantage of it. As soon as the clock started ticking for our two hour open bar, we ordered a round. As soon as that round hit the table, we ordered another, and on it went for the next two hours. We definitely got our moneys worth. The menu was set with a few options, of which I got to try the eggplant capponata, cacciatorini and the bread basket. We had a choice of salads for our first course, and then a choise of chicken piccata, roasted salmon or tortellini with meat, peas and a creamy sauce. My salmon came with wild mushrooms and broccoli rabe and it was perfectly seasoned with garlic, olive oil, lemon juice and salt and pepper. It was a very simple preparation, but it was delicious. It was all cooked beautifully and it tasted fantastic. Sometimes, simple is better. After our mains, they brought out a little dessert sampler for each of us. It had a piece of flourless chocolate cake, tiramisu, ricotta cheesecake and it was served with berries, whipped cream and zabagloine. Its always nice to get a sampler platter like that because you get to try a bunch of different things. They were all good in their own right. I think the cheesecake was my favorite. It was pretty rich, but it wasnt too sweet. I love ricotta cheesecake because of that simple factor. It gives it a bit of savoriness instead of just pure sweetness. Really, everything we had all night was very good, as was the service, and I really thought it was a hell of a deal. Just the open bar portion of it really made it all worth it. We all definitely got our money’s worth. This is worth checking out. I will definitely be back sometime.

My parents ate dinner at this restaurant lastnight(10÷3÷15) with 2 offer couples. They had the worst dining experience of their life. Not only was the service awful but the food left much to be desired. They ordered appetizers and make sure to ask the waiter if what they had ordered would be enough for 6 people. When the food came there was barely enough for 3 peoples to try it. As for the main course the waitress must have forgotten to put their order in because it took over an hour for their food to come out. Some people who had been seating after them has already gotten their food while they still waiting for theirs. When they asked to speak to the manager, he wouldn’t even come out to speak it then. It was just a terrible experience in general and they won’t be going back there ever again

Ah yes! Romantic candlelit dinner for 2 under the sounds of quiet music… absolutely great. We went with cocktails and dinner — the appetizers were great! As previous comments, a lot of them are complimentary and we were on our way to full bellies before even started looking at the menu. I went with the chicken-spinach soup and it was every bit delicious and fresh. Dinner was shrimp risotto and it was excellent. Didn’t leave any space for dessert, but will try next time. I can’t wait to go back and try their lasagna!

Came here for happy hour appetizers and beer just a few hours before dinner and it was great. They had $ 5 appetizers and $ 3 beers until 7pm. Dinner next door gets very pricey but check this out for happy hour!

Service was poor. Ordered off both the il Mulino and trattoria menus but was far from impressed. Pesto is unlike every other pesto I’ve ever had, not in a good way, and the gnocchi was overcooked. Fettuccini in the Parmesan sauce lacked flavor. Everything in food is in relation to the price charged and nothing we ate justified a premium price.

Food was mediocre and waiter service was worse. No one new the beer menu as i asked 2 servers. I got an idea, add it to the drink menu maybe? I ordered the meatballs to start. My wife ordered the snapper and i had the veal parm(extra sauce) for dinner. 30 or so minutes later the snapper and veal parm(barely any sauce) came out. Would be nice if someone decided to take away the plates from the free eggplant dish they gave us before or during dinner, don’t you think? Also, after mentioning that they forgot the meatballs, they finally brought it out in the middle of eating our entrée. At this point i finished my beer. No one asked if i wanted another(really?). My wife and i finished our water during dinner and no one refilled it until i had to ask as well. Best part is that no one was there!!! I don’t write reviews but this was a complete FAIL! its sad when you walk out a restaurant and see a Chinese buffet and wish you ate there. First time and last time Il Mulino.

Trattoria IL Mulino is the premium of Italian Restaurants in Atlantic City, Located in the Trump Taj Mahal Casino, Trattoria is a fine dining Italian restaurant. The staff is highly attentive and always checking in on you. The food has been simply amazing every time that I have eaten here. I have been coming back consistently over the past 5 years. A + + + across the board.

This is a happy hour review only. We stumbled in here, literally. I gamble at Taj because they comp rooms for me, Total Rewards doesn’t even comp parking(I spend the same at both, would rather give taj $ for better rewards). So after a little gambling and day drinking, we decided we wanted to sit and relax for a bit. They have a great happy hour: $ 4 domestic beers(Sam Adams, Magic Hat, and others); $ 5 wines — basically any type you want but bar tender chooses brand and $ 6 well drinks. The ambiance is great — much quieter than the casino or beach bar. Although you can still hear the chime of the slot machines. Bartenders were great. I would return for drinks here.

This operation is run by two servers and a maitre d’ on a Thursday night. All of whom have authentic Italian accents(Or at least great acting coaches). It is small and is a bit loud which makes it difficult to hear the options on the menu sometimes. However, there are a ton of options that is sure to satisfy any and all pallets. It’s BYOB which is negligible. Probably the only issue I had was the noise as it made it difficult to have a conversation with my girlfriend, but I could easily hear the loud woman mistakenly believe the cake was for her birthday complain to her husband on the other side of the room.

*eggplant appetizer(this is a cold plate of eggplant that came with the bread, it was very good and simple, it was chopped eggplant with oil, salt and pepper, basil, garlic and parmesan; I thought it was great; the bread was alright, it was cold and not well textured) *funghi pizze(this mushroom pizza was weird as hell; not my favorite at all, the cheese was off and was only mozzarella; there weren’t many mushrooms and only shitake, the crust was very soft and chewy which made the pizza overall soft, I would appreciated a crispier crust which would have given this pizza some good texture and made it more enjoyable. In addition, it’s definitely not brick oven which also makes a difference; Fornelletto’s pizza was way better) *Capellini(Pecorino-Romano, black pepper, pistachio; I loved this pasta!!! the pasta was perfect and it had a really great pesto-y flavor; the pistachios gave a nice crunch; for people who want meat, this not the dish for you but if you just want a plate of good pasta, this is it) The service is great here, attentive and courteous; at the beginning they were a little too intensive with their introductions and we felt bombarded; they have an open kitchen so expect to leave with your clothes and hair smelling a lot; I would go back and try more but NOT their pizza

I had a great dining experience last night at TIM. We started with drinks and a mini pizza at the bar, and had the chance to speak with the bartender about some of the items on the menu. He told me that Trattoria, and Il Mulino NY share a kitchen so we could order from either restaurants menus. I was excited because it was almost like trying 2 restaurants in one shot(minus the service experience). I thought the service was excellent and the food was good. We had ordered a seafood salad which my friend enjoyed, I ordered a citrus salad which was no big deal. I did love the spinach manicotti that I ordered off of the Il Mulino NY menu. A definite recommend in my book.

Sat at the bar for a quick bite and a couple drinks. I have to say, we had five cheese plates during our stay and this one had the best tasting cheese. The 12-month was especially good and so were the meats. Also in the tasty department were the meatballs and the broccoli rabe w/sausage. Everything we ate was delicious.

Happy hour drink specials and food specials. The rice balls and pizza used to be complimentary with the purchase of a drink. They now charge you. Still a good deal. The food is consistently good.

The people next to me at the bar said they hope nobody finds out about the free food here, or it would become too crowded. So don’t tell anyone, but… Apparently you can get a free pizza with the purchase of a drink, like a glass of wine. I think it has to be at the bar and only during happy hour. The pizza looked and smelled wonderful, but I stuck to my excellent seafood salad. Usually, I get the rigatoni funghi, a phenomenal dish. They have very good wines by the glass. This is truly good food. The menu is pricey. For the bar, jeans and t shirt is fine, but people usually dress nicer than usual AC at this restaurant.

Trattoria IL Mulino is the more casual of the two IL Mulino restaurants at the Trump Taj Mahal. Both are amazing and offer some different options as well as some of the same. I would recommend visiting them both, if you can! My boyfriend, his friend Vic and I stopped by for dinner here while visiting Atlantic City. We ordered the calamari to start and it was very good. The serving is very generous, so it’s great if you want to share an appetizer. For my meal I ordered the Risotto Ai Funghi and it was delicious! I loved that there were plenty of pieces of mushroom and it was seasoned very well. It was quite filling, so I wasn’t able to finish it on my own. My boyfriend ordered the Orecchiette with Sausage and Broccoli Rabe. This was the meal he was raving about and the reason we went to the Trattoria. I will say, he was right. It was seasoned very well and it had plenty of sausage and broccoli. I love vegetables, so I ate most of his broccoli! Vic ordered the Veal Tortellini and it was my favorite of the three entrees. Very flavorful and the sauce was amazing. I will be ordering this next time I go. I ordered a glass of Malbec and it was pretty good. It wasn’t my favorite but it was a great addition to my meal. For dessert we shared some Italian Cheesecake. It was my first time trying it and I have to say that while it was good, it wasn’t what I expected. The cappuccino I had with my dessert was absolutely delicious. The service here was very good and our water glasses were never empty. That is very important to my boyfriend and I, so it’s always a plus! I’m sure we’ll be back and I look forward to that day.

Trattoria IL Mulino is one of the two Trattoria restaurants in Trump Taj Mahal. We didn’t have a reservation that night and decided to have a late dinner around 9:30PM on a Thursday night. It’s dimly lit inside and the noise level is low. It’s classily decorated and has the air of a rustic Italian restaurant. The floors were really slippery, though… There were a few patrons there, but we were seated right away. We were given a complimentary tomato and egg plant appetizer to start off, and our server was fantastic. She was very friendly and helpful with the menu. We ended up ordering the jumbo shrimp as our appetizer and chicken parmesan and a sausage-mushroom pappardelle pasta(can’t remember the official names). For our drink, we ordered the Peach Bellini, which was prosecco and peach nectar. The Peach Bellini came in a lovely slender flute and was quite delicious. The jumbo shrimp appetizer was delicious and the perfect crispness. It tasted sauteed in a cream sauce and was delicious complemented by the lemon. The chicken parmesan looked like a huge pizza when it arrived. The chicken was pounded very thin and covered with thick layer of melted cheese. It was delicious, but towards the end, the cheese was a little too much. The pasta was delicious. It was my first time having pappardelle pasta, and I really enjoyed the chewyness of the thick pasta. The pasta came in a marina sauce that complemented the mushroom and sausage very well. A server came over to grate fresh Parmesan cheese on the pasta. At the end of our meal, we were each provided with a complementary glass of their vodka infused with lemon and sugar. It was refreshing and a nice treat. All in all, although it was a relatively pricey meal, we enjoyed the ambiance very much and the food was fantastic.

In Atlantic City for an overnight and a buddy of mine suggested Il Mulino at the Taj, due to the fact the Casino was picking up the tab here.(Always a good thing). Just two of us on this Monday evening and I don’t know where the recession is, but it is certainly not at this place which is packed though they only had the one side of the restaurant open which is the bar side and the back dining room, with the main second dining room closed tonight. Still an electric loud type place that is quite nice. Seated quickly and servers arrive with water, drinks some wines by the glass and some complimentary parmagana cheese and fresh soppersata to taste. Also another appetizer complimentary with some steamed mussels. Fresh bread was also good. Split an pasta as an appetizer Capellini 27.75, wild mushrooms, pancetta and sweet peas in a vodka cream And black truffle sauce. Have to be honest this was fair nothing special with the pasta being a little mushy and the sauce lacking what was expected. Two entrees were tried tonight nightly special of rib eye steak, with potatoes, peppers, onions and cherry tomatoes like a Giambotta so to speak. This was a nicely presented dish and tasty but again nothing that I was going to write home about $ 48.95 was price tag for it as well. The real winner on the table was Uccelletti alla Fiorentina 33.00 veal rollatine with mushrooms, mozzarella and prosciutto in a white cream sauce. OMG this was a 12 on a scale of 1 – 10. This would have me back there just to have this again. Simply awesome and the dish was quite large as well making it an incredible value. A couple of espressos were consumed and all and all I’ll say this was better than acceptable. With a couple of knocks for the weak pasta. Service was impeccable from every aspect. Probably a 3.5 stars would be the correct # here but good stuff.
