Flames is a run of the mill tourist restaurant. The food is nothing to write home about and the prices are a little inflated. The service was slow, but but the food(including seafood) seemed fresh enough. We were in need of something on the boardwalk near the Tropicana and this did the trick. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back.

The location and the price here implies this is a perfect tourist trap. But who cares, I came here as a tourist. At that time the service was a little bit slow and less attentive(maybe simply because it was busy time then) but our wait stuff lady was nice and friendly. It was a little surprising that they allowed guests to smoke at the garden(is it common in this area?). Although their menu is on relatively pricey side, the portion justified the price. We ordered steak and salad(caesar?) but I got stuffed with the salad alone. Both tasted good and the lunch here turned out to be overall satisfying experience.

I honestly think this place is a joke. Really expensive for«dive bar quality» food. It’s like who are they trying to kid! The chicken noodle soup was Campbell’s. It absolutely was. The bread was stale and blah… The seasoning on it was ok. The salad was nothing… It was just lousy, it was something you’d get from a corner sub shop. The main course we got which was a pasta dish was small and it was like the same as a frozen dinner. The outside is nice in summer, as long as you’re not off to the 6 or so side tables that are like being outside the restaurant’s limits. But that’s it. I feel like I’ve been had. This was from the $ 20 per person meal they had going on. I had to wonder if it was bad quality because it was this $ 20 per person deal? But surely other people got bread and salad… and soup, and pasta???

Like many others I was attracted to the atmosphere of this place while walking on the boardwalk. With the white cabana tents and soothing music playing, I was expecting to get fanned by girls as I ate my meal. It’s definitely a cool setup they have. That being said, the food is average at best. It’s a basic sandwich /gyro spot, but they don’t seem to make either very good. It’s also expensive for what you get, but I suppose, given the location, they can get away with that. I wouldn’t recommend.

Started off with ok service for a party of 13. Missed 2 dinners and they didn’t come out until 30 mins after the rest of the main courses came out.

(Bar only) The waitress made the visit here. As a tourist, she was very informative and open to talking to us about the city. She asked us about where we were from and we talked about where she was from. Conversation flowed nicely and we got some really good tips from her. It was a blessing we found her, actually. Other staff members gave recommendations also and the visit was incredibly pleasant. The drinks were priced no more or less than the rest of the boardwalk and were delicious. She even gave us a free drink of something she made up and it was a good amount, too. If you’re visiting AC for the first time, come here on the first or second night to get some information out of the staff. They were more than willing to share :)

If you’re going to be in Atlantic City, I highly recommend this place. They have DELICIOUS parmesan french fries and the hummus plate is pretty good too… best of all sit inside by the bar and drink $ 2 bud lights all day long. It’s right on the boardwalk and has a great cute vibe. The only negative thing I can say is their menu is a little pricey and there weren’t too many items that really got me going, also nearly everything is spelled wrong but I find that kind of thing amusing.

Went here for my friend’s bachelorette party and I loved it! The restaurant is right on the boardwalk and has outside seating that reminds me of what Santorini, Greece would look like with white cabanas and couches and long wooden tables. Flames was able to set up a reservation for the 22 of us that were in AC for our friend’s bachelorette party. I ordered 3 course prix fix menu which came with a caesar salad, some kind of chicken soup, and chicken kabobs. Everything was really good and for $ 19.99, you can’t beat that. I also ordered the spicy habanero skinny margarita, which was really different, but yummy. The service was really attentive and did such a great job with so many guests. They even took a bunch of pictures for us. And after dinner they gave us each a complementary shot to celebrate. I loved everything about it!

Right on the boardwalk, nicely decorated. Very, very limited lunch menu– from what I can remember, there was a choice of 4 apps, a salad or 2 and a few sandwiches(all of which were pretty expensive). We sat at the bar, got a few cocktails(kind of pricey, but good) and a couple $ 2 bud lights(good deal). Bartenders were not really attentive and the one seemed particularly miserable. The waitstaff was hanging out around the bar complaining about having to work and when they’d be getting off. One chick was sampling a pitcher of sangria through a straw before the other took it out to a table. Another was putting whipped cream on strawberries, eating them sloppily with her fingers. A bartender sneezed, didn’t wash her hands and went to make a drink. I was really shocked that all that was happening while we were sitting right there– kinda like they didn’t care. I gave this place 2 stars because the cocktails we got were actually really delicious, but glad we didn’t take a chance on the food.

Flames is a little pricey, but you’re paying for the atmosphere more than anything, I think. We came here twice on our recent trip to AC, once for a round of lunchtime drinks, and again for breakfast(apparently Atlantic City does not do Sunday brunch outside of casino buffets, so a typical breakfast it was). They made a good bellini with breakfast, more strawberry flavored than peach, which was a nice interpretation. Up until 11ish, they have a breakfast special of a small plate for $ 4.99, plus your beverage. My husband and I split an omelette that was on the small side, but really tasty. Small in size was probably for the best, because who wants to be walking around in the blazing hot sun with a full tummy, but the prices don’t really reflect the size of the meal you would think you’d get. All of that said, the real reason to come to Flames is to sit in a charming outdoor restaurant to enjoy your meal and/or drink and people watch on the boardwalk. They have a really lovely outdoor seating area that is nicely covered by umbrellas to keep you in the shade as you eat, and big windows inside so that if you choose to sit where it’s a bit cooler, you still feel like you’re right alongside the beach. If you’re inside, look at the ceiling above the bar. It’s made to look like a cutout with the sky showing through. This place gets 5 stars for décor! We had a great waitress, who was really prompt with refills and requests for ketchup and an extra plate. The service was really fast, even though they were busy. Also, we were in town for the Dave Matthews Band Caravan festival, and I of course must take a moment to appreciate the fact that they played Dave music on their speakers almost the full weekend, so that even when we were just walking past, we could soak up a little more DMB :) Being able to see the ocean while I’m having a bellini and listening to Dave Matthews Band? Yeah, I’ll pay a little more for that!

after walking by, we decided the place looked super chill and we must eat brunch here. the light wooden clean design tables and chairs, white beachwood flooring, nice umbrellas and yummy looking cocktails awaited us! unfortunately, we left narfy. after immediate seating, we looked to see what was on the menu. unfortunately, there really was nothing for a vegetarian to eat. meat meat meat! we decided to get the Mediterranean app sampler and fried mozzarella. and i got a frozen strawberry daiquiri, gf got the piña colada(both yummy). soooo, the sampler app came with a chicken kebab. we asked the waitress if we could just get the sampler without chicken and that we are vegetarians. she proceeded to look at us like we had 3 heads and was like«why would you do that? the kebab is the best part!» we were like«…because we don’t eat meat.“i guess where she came from she had NEVER heard of a vegetarian before, but made a big huge/awkward deal about it. she like wouldn’t let us order the app without the kebab! she simply could not fathom that we don’t eat meat. so finally, we said FINE leave it on there. and it just didn’t get eaten! so bizarre. she forgot to give us our mozzarella sticks and gave it to us like 25 min later… then comped it on bill. anyway, its cute ambiance and good food but i had echhh service.

I wish that rating 0⁄5 stars was possible. We went in for breakfast, the food was expensive & for what we got absolutely not worth it! The omelette was made with weak liquid eggs & the hashbrowns were soggy strands of potato. «Unsweetened» tea was from a regular dispenser(i.e. Pepsi product). Toast was unbuttered & only one jelly provided. My guests each got lackluster French Toast & one was given the wrong special. In the end, for three people, they tacked on an automatic 18% gratuity. We saw a similar review on Unilocal but only after we finished. Will never go again to this overpriced & cheaply prepared restaurant.

We went relatively early for dinner(before 6 p.m.) and sat outside. The food was really delicious and fresh. The flounder Florentine was so filling, it had maybe four small fillets for one person! The staff were friendly, the music was pleasant and at a decent level; overall it was a great place.

I had Dinner here with my Boyfriend on monday & we had the prefix menu which was pretty good. The cocktails were HARD! they were the highlight to the meal! You pretty much got what you paid for and a $ 40 for 2 people works for me! Last night we stopped by for drinks as they had $ 3 Smirnoff Drink Special which wet my whistle for the night. The gentleman at the Bar was ver friendly and served us right away!

While walking along the boardwalk, I decided to try out Mediterranean Flames for their breakfast special(Which is 2 eggs scrambled w/home fries OR French Toast OR pancakes). Placed our drink order after being promptly seated. While the waitress was quick to bring out the drinks, the coffee was burnt. Proceeded to place our food order. And wait. And wait. I’d say it took a good 5 – 7 minutes for the food to arrive without any explanation from the staff as to the delay. Mind you, this is a Monday morning with very few people present in the restaurant. Once served, the food was ok. Not spectacular, but worth the special pricing. The restaurant does not seem to provide any sort of bug deterrent as it was very buggy that morning. The proverbial«icing on the cake» was when they presented us with the bill and automatically added an 18% gratuity for two people on a Monday morning. This was the first time I ever added a negative tip in the additional tip section.

This is where I take out of town friends for dinner when they say they want to go to AC. In the summer, they have nice al fresco dining on the boardwalk. In the off season, their dining room is earth toned, cozy loveliness. The waiters have always been amazingly attentive, but then, I’ve gone there a lot, and often in the off season, so maybe they’re chattier then. Their calamari is dreadful. Don’t get it. However, DO get the fried artichokes — nice, firm hearts that probably aren’t from a can, since they’re still firm after frying. They’re fried in a light batter seasoned with just salt and pepper, served with a creamy, lemony sauce. Perfect. The lamb chops are inexpensive and seasoned well, with garlic and rosemary and lemon, but they’re a little tough. However, for the price, you can’t complain. The gyro is perfect. You can’t get a better one. Forget all the dopey Tropicana restaurants — come here for dinner.

Great place! we found this beautiful restaurant right before we left! I ordered the Caesar salad with bacon-.mmmmmmmmm and my friend got a chicken sandwich which was absolutely delightful. Romantic atmosphere! Go during happy hour! all drinks on their menus excluding top shelf and wine are 50% off. Kind of pricey– your paying for the view, which is sand but we really enjoyed our time here. The waitstaff is very accommodating and kind. When our waitress accidentally wrung our drinks as full price, she was more then happy to fix her error.

Angus burgers, wraps and pasta dishes are served fresh daily at this boardwalk restaurant with a beautiful deck overlooking the beach. Everyone loved what they ordered and the portions are great to regain energy after a day in the sun — but not so large that you feel like you’re going to die after you eat. The service was good, although I did run out of water(I do sort of drink like a camel). The staff was quick and helpful. I recommend the Philly cheese steak wrap and the fettuccine alfredo… and definitely a side of their fries. Delicioso!
