You know that food is GOOD when you think of it at random times. It’s 930AM and I’m nowhere near Tony Luke’s but I am craving their chicken cheesesteak. I’ve never actually tried anything else because i don’t eat beef, but this sandwich is so delicious.

Glad to see Tony Luke’s at Borgata. I’ve always wanted to try this legendary spot. I wasn’t in the mood for a cheesesteak… So I did try the chicken parm sandwich. I must say, it was absolutely delicious. Chicken was juicy, bread was fresh and soft, lots of thick marinara sauce. Can’t wait to try the cheesesteak next time around tho.

Chicken philly is awesome! I can take or leave the sides, but the philly is plenty of food. :)

Mediocre. Too much. Too little. Underwhelming in every way. Like they were learning how to make a cheese steak THAT day. Bleh.

Possibly the worst sandwich in Atlantic City. Not even close to the original in south Philly. You’re better off getting a sandwich from Sunoco.

I am sure Tony Luke is laughing all the way to the bank but I am astonished that a hometown Philadelphian, lime himself, would allow his legacy to be tarnished by the rubbish served at this place. I grew up in Jersey and Tony Luke’s is, by far, my fave cheesesteak. What they serve at the Borgata is, literally, boxed frozen sandwich steak which is mushy and loaded with gristle. It looks like steak-um when they put it on the grill. The people that work there didn’t no know the difference between ribeye and steak-ums when I asked if they were using ribeye. The sharp provolone tastes like the generic great value brand from walmart. If you don’t want to believe me, compare the ratings from the real Tony Lukes’s, to this place. Seriously, save the $ 11 and get a McDouble at McDonalds… it is a higher quality product than what Tony Luke is allowing to be served, under his name, at the Borgata.

Go the Tony Luke’s on the Boardwalk which is at the Tropicana or in Philly. This location at the Borgata has a limited menu.

MEh. I find the cheesesteaks here lacking in taste. Ordered the cheesesteak«wit» wiz and onions. Not much in terms of flavor and felt like there was something missing. Fries had a good textures but not enough seasoning. Shoulda went to Fatburger instead.

I had the steak buster it was an average sandwich. I hope the real tony Luke’s is better. If your hungry and after losing money at the tables it’s very disappointing to lose half your comp dollars because you want to eat without leaving the casino

Tip: Dont compare this location to the one near the sports complex in Philly. That one is divine. With that said, for a cheesesteak in a casino, it’s pretty darn good. Overpriced, but huge. You can easily split it with someone. Very messy– get lots of napkins.

I’m always on the hunt for Philly’s best cheese steak. For regular readers, you know that my favorite cheese steak is from Philly’s Best — ironically based in Chicago. Unfortunately, nothing in Philly has come close. Tony Luke’s has been the closest iteration to what I consider a really good cheese steak. And while Tony Luke’s at the Borgata is not the original location, they still churn out a great cheese steak. This time around, I had to try the roast pork as well and put it up against Dinic’s. Cheese Steak($ 9.75) Steak, onions, sharp provolone But of course, let’s start off with the cheese steak. There certainly seems to be a casino mark-up, but luckily 2-for-1 comps do pay for it. Regardless, the steak is perfecty juicy and there’s a great interspersing of the sharp provolone. The buttery bread is perfect to house all the goodness. Pat’s, Geno’s, and Jim’s don’t hold a candle to Tony Luke’s. I still need to get out to Gooey Louie’s and John’s Roast Pork to try their versions though. Roast Pork Italian($ 10.50) Roast pork, sharp provolone, broccoli rabe Now in terms of roast pork sandwiches, you can’t go wrong with a Dinic’s Roast Pork with broccoli rabe and sharp provolone. Tony Luke’s has great crusty bread and the pork is juicy, though not on par with Dinic’s nor is it as plentiful. The provolone was perfectly funky though and the rabe was nicely garlicky. Not bad. Overall, if you’re looking for a decent sandwich while at the Borgata, don’t hesitate to head down to the Cafeteria and get a cheese steak from Tony Luke’s. You won’t be sorry!

Up until I visited Philly for the first time, I always associated them with cheesesteaks, specifically Pat’s and Geno’s. Those are the two«institutions» of Philly grub that frequently get publicized on the Food Network, Travel Channel, etc. Then one day, this Tony Luke fellow got some air time on tv and as it turns out, he’s got like a million locations serving some traditional Philly comfort food. Fast forward to a birthday getaway in Atlantic City and it’s late… maybe like 1:30 am. I’m sitting in a gorgeous suite at the Water Club Hotel… starving! Hmmm, few options are open in the casino area but they’re not appealing. Then I go to the Borgata cafeteria and what do I see? Tony Luke’s has a spot that is still open! I grab my sleepy travel companion and yelled«It’s time to eat… Philly style!» I think she stuck her middle finger up at me… but whatever. I ordered a Beef Cheesesteak with Broccoli Rabe and some Onion Rings. The cheesesteak was definitely large and the beef, cheese and veggies came in hefty amounts. The beef was fairly tender and decently cooked although a little light in terms of seasoning. The broccoli rabe was a nice pairing in theory but I think there was too much of it on the sandwich. Hey, at least I got my veggie intake! The onion rings were gargantuan. Although they tasted fresh, there was something a little off about them. I think they need to change up their batter recipe, it definitely has an odd aftertaste. Unfortunately, I was so hungry that no pictures were taken. I can tell you that these cheesesteaks were massively overpriced. For two cheesesteak combos, it came to around $ 30. Definitely location factors into the price inflation, but the fact is these subs were worth nowhere near the cost. If you’re out in AC and there’s limited options, this place does the trick but under normal circumstances, shell out some more money and eat good at one of the many other places around.

I must say, I’ve eaten at several Tony Luke’s including the Borgata. I ate at the Borgota on March 282013 and was less than satisfied. There was literally more cheese than Roast Pork. Thumbs down on the quality control

If you are reading this you are probably like me, thinking how bad can it be? Let me tell you something buddy, Tony Luke makes a great sandwich… in Philly. In Atlantic City it makes horrible recreations of what should be some of the best cheesesteaks in America. Avoid it, and you’ll avoid disappointment.

Tony Luke’s is supposed to be one of those must trys in all things philly cheesesteak like Pats or Genos. Seeing one of the many locations in the Borgata we had to give it a try to see if it lives up to its rep. Well it sure doesn’t. I got the green sub with sauteed veggies including broccoli rabe for $ 10, had a bite and brought it back. No way I was paying for that greasy, sour slop. The man had the cheesesteak which at $ 12 was also a joke. Not horrible like most others but compairing it to Pats or Genos is just wrong. So grossly overpriced, no need to stop here.

3 stars on a round-up and hope for a better tomorrow. Seems like the sandwiches have been getting smaller and smaller lately. I’ve watched my sandwich sit there for 3+ minutes waiting for someone to put it on a tray and hand it to me, and I really wish they would start with raw meat and raw onions, that tray full of cooked onions just looks gross.

This stand is located in the Waterclub Hotel quick-dining area. The convenience of it is that it’s open until 2am and that’s about all of the benefit I found in this place. I didn’t find the benefit in the $ 13 paid for just a sub, fries and medium soda. Don’t forget to tack on the extra taxes that you get for just breathing in casino air. Two sub/side/soda combos literally ran $ 30. I mean, what is REALLY going on Tony? Especially considering that the sub is… well sub par. The meat was fatty and I could think of about 7SUBSHOPS that have better subs than the one I tasted from this place that would have saved about $ 7! I will say the onion rings were DEFINITELY beer batter in the purest form. I mean it tasted like I was taking a shot of Keystone Light with each bite, which may not be bad for late night fare if you have the munchies after a long night at the casino or clubbing.

This place is good. Very good. And this is coming from someone who lived in Philly for quite some time. Not sure why people are complaining about the prices – you’re at a hotel/Casino, what do you expect? I sometimes eat here 3 times during a 20 hour poker session

Wow, I paid almost $ 20 for a cheese steak, onion rings, and soda combo. Talk about overpriced.(and I don’t buy the«It’s in a casino» excuse — there’s plenty of reasonably priced casino restaurants all over) The cheese steak was good enough, but do NOT get the onion rings. They were probably the worst rings I’ve had in a long, long, time. It was like they were microwaved and/or steamed rather than fried.

I love these cheese steaks. I was drunk off my ass at 3 am and I thought I was seeing things since I was at The Phillies game earlier in the day and I usually grab one there. The bread was perfect for a sammich. Not too moist and not too hard. The catchup was fine. The best catchup available in the free world. Hienz, made in Pittsburgh. The reason I didn’t give it a fourth star is becuz the staff was just hanging out. I had to ask for help and I seemed to annoy them by interrupting their conversation. The kid slowly and reluctantly took our order. He even pointed out to us that there were other places open on the other side of the dining area.
