The Broccoli Rabe pork sandwich is really good, The Philly Cheese stakes are good as well but not quite as good as what you would get if you were in Philly. It’s a close second and still worth the trip. My biggest complaint is that they aren’t always open on time and I stand there wanting a great sandwich when they say they are open and there is no one to give me one. That is very frustrating.

While searching for lunch on Unilocal,I came across Philly’s Famous Cheesesteaks. I was excited to see Wiz on the menu and immediately made the decision to go and get take out. It was in a small strip with about 2 or 3 mom & pop stores. I entered to find 2 young men at the counter gossiping with the counter girls. I tried to look at the menu, but everyone continued talking right in front of it. I could not tell where I was supposed to stand to place my order, eventually the girl called me to the side. I ordered just a cheesesteak with wiz and a side order of steak fries. I took a seat and waited while the counter girls and 2 young men took a seat at another table. The counter girl had her laptop out explaining how she was watching Law & Order. They were cursing as they conversed. It was a little ridiculous. Eventually, my food came out. I went back up to pay and as the girl was bagging and ringing me up, she continued her conversation with everyone who were behind me. At some point you have to realize you’re working, am I wrong??? Anywho, I went back to work and started to eat. The steak fries were really good. I unwrapped the cheesesteak, which at first glance looked great. I picked it up for my first bite and wiz just oozed everywhere. Normally, I’m not one to complain about an overabundance of cheese, but this was excessive. I had cheese all over my desk, hands and face. I could not taste the meat as the wiz was the only flavor I could detect, which was truly disappointing because I could tell the meat was of good quality. The bread they used was good too. Definitely a tad on the pricey side, I don’t know if I’d like to spend the money again.

Very good cheesesteaks! But the place needs a major cleaning! very dirty floors and mats, don’t think it’s seen a mop in a very long time. Makes me think of resturant impossible when they go in and have to close down to do a deep cleaning, ew!

This is probably the best cheesesteak that I’ve had in NJ period. A little hard to find, but if you make the right turns, you find it with no problem.

Ate here for the second time in a week. Of course had the cheese steak with provolone, mushrooms and peppers! Very good! Homemade steak sauce was the perfect compliment. Got a chance to meet the owner and talked about what else to try. Can’t wait to check this place out again!

Stopped in today to get a cheese steak. 3 people in the place 2 worked there the cook took what looked like pre cooked meat from the fridge, reheated it(you could taste it, some was still cold) disgusting ! I was in there once before and there was a different cook there, it was good! What the heck happened!

that’s a mom and pop place, owners are very friendly, the food is very good, but very pricey $ 10 a half a sub, and parking is a little small and tight. would go back when I’m in the area and have that much money to blow on lunch.

My friends work in Philly and say that their cheesesteaks there aren’t nearly as good as these! I’ve read the previous reviews for this place and can’t see how it got below 4 – 5 stars?! the owner is very nice and friendly and their cheesesteaks are amazing! I have never had a roast port Italian before(which I recommend you do) and it was the best thing I’ve had to eat in a while. It’s perfect for families. I brought the little kids I babysit here once and it’s perfect because they have chicken fingers and mozzarella sticks which they loved. I knew a 4 and 6 year old was not going to be able to eat a cheesesteak that’s bigger than they are lol! if I could rate this place more than 5 stars I would!!!

These guys are legit, I have yet to order from them and be disappointed, I even love the Newark hotdog it was my first and it was great. Good road food and quick service a little pricey but you get what you pay for, real nice people too!

Deliciously indulgent! The cheesesteak was amazing! We ordered too much because we were really hungry. If you are going to go off the rails have the italian hot dog! The onions, potatoes and peppers are all cooked perfectly. Let the owner make recommendations it is worth it. I wouldn’t call it health food but sometimes a cheesesteak does a body good…

You have to go here. Cheesesteaks were PHENOMENAL as well as the disco fries with wiz and gravy — service was great with friendly staff. Will definitely come back!

Stopped into this awesome place for the first time tonight. I am from Atlantic Highlands but moved to Arizona in 2008 and recently moved back to Morristown, NJ. AUTHENTICITY is one of the best words I can say to describe this gem of a restaurant. The owner Cheryl was at the counter and incredibly personable. She told me about the menu, the history, how they make their own marinara, how they make their own angus burgers. One of the most personable restaurant owners I have ever met. You can tell she was very proud of their food, and she should be. I stuck to a plain cheese steak(with American Cheese since I am not a fan of Whiz) and it was amazingly delicious. I also ordered Disco Fries(again with American Cheese) which were also equally delicious. If I could have ordered 1 of everything off that menu I would have. Please, please, please try this place. You will NOT be sorry.

Have lived in the area for almost two years and today I finally tried this amazing cheesesteak place. Now I’m kicking myself for waiting so long! True Philly style steaks and the fresh rolls are perfect. And the best thing is the pizza steaks on the menu! First time I’ve seen a place in this area that even knows what that is… if you’ve never tried one before do it you won’t be disappointed. Make this place a stop next time you crave a cheesesteak and you’ll never go anywhere else.

Unilocal blocked my first review so I will keep this one simple. The atmosphere here may not be much, but that is not the point. They use quality meat, not frozen, for their great cheese steaks. However, the standout sandwich in my opinion is the Italian roast pork sandwich with broccoli rabe and sharp provolone cheese. The combination of flavors and textures is mind blowing.

These people should not be allowed to have a credit card machine !! If you go here make sure you use CASH !!! After two weeks if trying to buy sandwiches for dinner — closes early or last order is accepted at 4:30 ??? We finally found the store open and accepting orders — double checked on debit cards — no problem Placed order 4 sandwiches 2 fries $$ 40.82 Next day acct was charged $ 120 — and an additional $ 40 processed the next night! Now when I contacted the store — she wanted to give me a store credit for $ 80 ??? No way !!! Sandwiches were bland and not made to order ! I will not chase sandwiches here ever again ! The steak bagel from McDonald’s was better by far !!! Done here for sure — finally got $$ back — credit card was compromised and had to be replaced !!!

Wow, have I got a Philly Cheese steak for you! I was driving down Route 36 in Atlantic Highlands today looking for a quick lunch. Out of the corner of my eye I spot Philly’s Cheese Steak. After three right turns and one left we found ourselves in the front of Philly’s. The best landmark I can give you to find this place is Burger King is right across the street from the restaurant. This is a nice and simple road side Philly Cheese Steak Joint. We walked in and were greeting by the friendly wait staff/owner. The menu behind the cash registered offers countless combinations of cheese steaks. I decide on the Mushroom Cheese Steak with American cheese(other cheese options include cheese wiz and provolone). All cheese steaks are 7″ so the portion sizes are decent. I also added a side of fries too(recommended). I’m guessing the waitress could tell we were hungry because she sent the fries out early(thank you!). The food was absolutely delicious. I’m a big fan of cheese steaks even if I don’t get to eat them as often as I would like to. I really enjoyed the atmosphere in this place. Both of our sandwiches came out with a lot of mean; I mean a lot of meat and plenty of mushrooms. It was soooo good. Fellow Unilocalers! If you check-in to this place you receive a coupon for a FREE drink with your sandwich! Good deal. If you’re in the mood for a good cheese steak you’ve got to check-in to Philly’s. I loved it and I’m pretty sure you will too.
