Town and Surf Diner

This is easily my favorite place to grab a bite in AH. Breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Staff is always pleasant and food comes out fairly quickly. Highly recommend their omelets, burgers (Cuban burger too) and the plethora of choices for desserts afterwards. I think I just gained a few pounds thinking of it. :)

We’ve been going to Town and Surf regularly for years. The food is consistently good, the portions generous, and the staff — well, like family. It has got to be the friendliest place around and we always feel welcomed and at home. Chris, the owner, greets customers personally and often by first name — and goes to great lengths to offer an interesting and varied list of seasonal specials. We mainly eat here for lunch and dinner — but we’ve had the omelets, pancakes, and French toast, too — and all are excellent. We are so happy to have this little treasure right in town.

What a terrible experience! We had planned an outing to see the new Star Wars movie at the cinema across the street. We arrived almost an hour prior to show time to ensure seats for the popular movie, then popped in to the diner for a «quick» late lunch. We ordered our meals, which included no starters and proceeded to wait and wait and wait. Finally, after a half hour part of one order arrived. This was followed slowly by one more. The first served were long finished by the time more arrived. There were six of us in total. It was a slow trickle of food, but not all of the food arrived until long after the movie had begun. Actually, not all of the food arrived period and we had to check the bill to make sure we weren’t charged for what they forgot. I managed to bring most of mine into the theater after asking for a take out container. My meal was one of the daily specials, a Greek platter that was edible but just barely. The spanakopita was cold and cardboard like. Do not order it! Needless to say, we won’t return, I recommend not going there. The staff were unperturbed by their poor performance and offered nothing other than perfunctory excuses that the kitchen was backed up. Poor service, terrible timing, and food that was certainly not worth the ridiculously long wait.

They do not deliver and it should be taken off the site as delivery. Figured we would give it a second chance. The first time we dined there it was not that good. Too bad for no delivery.

I went to Town and Surf for Lunch. They serve breakfast all day (Awesome) We had the Breakfast Skillet and also chicken quesadilla. The restaurant was very clean, the food was very good, and the service was was prompt and courteous. I’d highly recommend for a quick hearty meal.

I have frequented the town and surf diner for years and love the food there! The staff is always very nice and they have great diner style food. I personally think their daily specials are the best and is what I get usually. They usually have many different daily specials to choose from that are very seasonal and well put together. They also have very great prices! It is a very home style type of place.

Great diner! We lived in AH for a little while and stumbled into this diner one day. To this day we continue to drive past three diners to make it back here. Always fast, delicious, friendly, and inexpensive. Highly recommended!

Old school authentic diner, like taking a step back in time. Fun quirky sineage. Menu replete with standard diner fare but check out the amazing specials. Good stop while taking in a movie at Atl. Highlands cinema.

This is a favorite of my hubby and I. We’ve been here plenty and I will go again and again.
The owners and staff are super friendly and seem to have tons of customers by which they refer to them by name. It’s been here a while and so I assume their hospitality is one of the main factors for going back again and again!
I love the salads here. They are always so fresh!
The burgers and wraps are good to choose too.
The front is small but have a back area with plenty of seating.
The iced coffee made me like them more!

Ate there again yesterday during the downtown craft fair. They were very busy but the staff were still friendly, the food came out fast and it was as good as usual!

Working locally, I like to frequent and support local businesses. I used to enjoy coming to Town and Surf, but the last few times, I ended up telling myself, «I will never come here again.» The last time, which was a few days ago, truly will be the last time. The interior is dated but quaint. The service is usually pleasant. However, the food is so lackluster that it should be pictured in the dictionary next to the definition of the word «mediocre». The portions are small, the prices are higher than what one pays in the area. There is absolutely no flavor to any dish. The pancakes are so rubbery that you could use them as a Frisbee. Its very hard to mess up breakfast foods, but this place manages to accomplish that in stunning fashion. Any wrap, quesadilla, or pannini hardly has anything in it. The open face sandwiches are the opposite: they are loaded with the meat of your choice, but the gravy is so detestable (not sure if from a can), that it ruins the whole sandwich. There’s a reason why the place is always empty. No matter what time of day, you could shoot a cannon through the dining room and not hit anyone. What a shame. I wanted so badly to like this place.

Great little spot. Variety of food and all prepared well. Very affordable. Weekday early bird breakfast deal for the commuters is great! Overall decent, cozy and very friendly staff. I will become a regular here for sure.

Love this diner! Small, homey and delicious! The people are friendly and it has a very clean and warm atmosphere! Their southwest eggrolls are amazing!

This certainly one of the best dinner foods I’ve ever eaten. Had the pastrami sandwich with fries, and Cole slaw. The sandwich was packed with meat and dripping with gooey cheese and sauerkaraut. Certainly would come back here again.

The selection of food and great staff really make this diner. The quantity of food was superb, and the quality was pretty good (I would’ve said «great» if it hadn’t been for the seemingly out-​of-​a-​can corned beef hash). Overall cheap prices, quick and friendly service, good location, and wide variety of menu items make this place a great deal.

Went to Town and Surf diner after reading the reviews I was concerned cause I have small children and we were doing lunch after the movies which the theatre is right across the street. The meals were delicious the presentation beautiful and the service was above and beyond excellent. We sat in the room in the back they have an aquarium which was nice for the kids, the was an older man with young adult son or grandson and a female companion he was looking at us funny and was clearly disturbed by the sound of my 4 year old who was not being loud or by the color of my Asian skin whatever his issue he asked to be moved to the front dining area the waitress looked confused but quickly accommodated. I was offended and neither me or the kids finished our meal. When we asked for boxes the manager brought back the check and was so kind and pleasant she heard my son singing and started singing along with him her kindness put us at ease and as she held the door open for us I smiled… The diner and the service was impeccable… despite the rude customer the food the the management was great
