I will start with three stars because I genuinely like this restaurant. I made a reservation on Friday afternoon for Sunday dinner, Father’s Day, with my family and my in-laws. What typically is a fantastic way to end the weekend turned out to be fairly blasé. There were six of us three of whom ordered the baby back ribs, which salt creeke grille is definitely known for. Last night was the most disappointing, food wise, of the last 10 years. The ribs were dry, kind of warm but definitely not hot. They tasted like they had been sitting close by to the grill in preparation of being warmed for the next order. I spent $ 400 here last night and felt like I got $ 150 worth of value. Makes it very difficult to want to go back. I’ve written plenty of letters to this restaurant about how excellent the food and staff are and I’ve even told they’ve even been read at staff meetings. I hope they read this review too.

This is not for the restaurant, but for the corporate people. I tried to redeem or look at my «points online» but even after several emails with them, I was still not able to get onto my account. Admittedly a wast oaf a lot of time to redeem my $ 35! very frustrating. and I still haven’t gotten it!

My Mother and I had a great dining experience. We hadn’t been there together in a while but it has always been a favorite. The kale and quinoa salad was delicious! GERARD was an awesome server who made great recommendations and kept us smiling!

My most favorite place that i truly love to go to for dinner as well as fabulous brunch. First of all, the view of the water is stunning! Second inside is warm and inviting! Third, the food is delicious! The one thing that makes brunch stand out over other locations that provide brunch is the unlimited champagne! No other place does this. Most places if you are lucky to get one champagne glass and after that its offered but you have to pay on a top of high expensive price!

The location of the restaurant is great. They are in a beautiful area and have a great view. If it’s busy the parking lot is a little small. The food is always good and well worth the drive and money. The service is also very good. I would love to try them for brunch!

The Salt Creek Grille, overlooking the beautiful Navesink River, is a true joy and local’s fav! Our amazing server, Gerard, made my friends and I very at-home… and offered great recommendations. I’ll be back very soon!

Nice experience! My friends and I went to dinner here with my 5 month old son(very baby friendly). The service was great; quick, accurate, and friendly! I ordered the kale and quinoa salad, it was good! My husband and friends ordered the short ribs, blackened swordfish, and crab cakes, general consensus was that the food was good but didn’t knock their socks off. We all spilt the chocolate soufflé, excellent flavor and texture. Overall, a little overpriced for the food!

My wife loves this place but me not so much. And it is only because the food has been mediocre every time i’ve gone over the years. So it’s a place for the wife and the girls now. Otherwise we go elsewhere.

First visit, fabulous experience. Snagged an awesome seat in the bar at the window overlooking the Navisink. Our waiter, Kendall took excellent care of us. Looking forward to the next visit

What a great experience! My friends and I came here for brunch today and had such a nice time. They offer complementary valet which was great. Plus the hostess seated us right away. Our server Mike was fantastic! He was friendly, attentive and professional. He brought everything we asked for right away and checked in on us often to make sure we all were content. If you come for brunch make sure to request him, you’ll be glad you did. The food was great, we did the $ 34 brunch that comes with mimosas! The prime rib was excellent. There was a great selection of food to choose from, all of which was very good. I will definitely be back again!

I came here quite a few years ago for breakfast buffet with an old friend of mine and loved their breakfast buffet. Last summer, a friend of mine brought a friend of hers and suggested we go out for dinner, so I thought of this place as I had heard it was a good place to eat for dinner. We wanted to sit by the window which the hostess wouldn’t give us, we were disappointed as we made reservation to sit by the window until a waitress learned about this, she went ahead and moved us to where we wanted to sit, bless her heart(don’t know why the hostess wouldn’t seat us as there were some empty spots). We ordered our food, we all agreed that our food was way toooo salty which ruined our appetite and none of us could finish our dinners. I don’t understand why some chefs put too much salt on our food when we can easily add it ourselves. We all agreed that we will not be back for dinner, only for breakfast.

This is probably my favorite restaurant in the general area… Food is always consistent and quite phenomenal. Great prices for high quality food. The views from this restaurant are beautiful and the happy hour at the bar is great with fantastic drink and small plate options. Fried Calamari appetizer– delicious, sauce on the side is unique Horseradish stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon– DELICIOUS — maple dipping sauce is unreal The caramelized onion and goat cheese flat bread with bacon is soooooo good I’ve gotten the crab cake and lobster tail dinner before, comes with two sides and a corn salsa side– unbelievable and for a great price. all of the sides were fantastic. I have also ordered the french dip sandwich, the best I’ve had. And the coffee crusted new york strip was awesome, better than I’d expected. There is a lot of hype over their chocolate soufflé, I am always too full to order it though!

My best friend’s birthday is today, Super Bowl Sunday of all days and her husband was like, «Let’s go out Saturday night for Casey’s birthday» and I was like, «No good I have work.» So he was like, «Oh,»(hangs head) so I thought, hey! Salt Creek Grille Rumson has a Sunday brunch with UNLIMITEDMIMOSAS and then I told him that cause I am having a super bowl party and I can’t be all like not cooking for that and drinking beer. He made a reservation for 10 and we came for eats. It was AWESOME. Ok so in terms of brunches I’m like basically an expert. The philosophy of the setup from the chef/owner’s perspective is: put all the pricey stuff out of the way, start with one pricey thing like prime rib or whatever and then finish with the normal things like potato, chicken Parmesan, etc. My brother says that brunch is only called brunch when it includes both breakfast and lunch items. Well, Sean, this was brunch. Did you know there’s a secret section of this brunch? I kept seeing crabs legs and shrimp and pastries on the tables and I was like where is that? Well, it’s off the beaten path by the bar. No problem. OMIGOD and they have an omelette list with eggs Benedict on it, included, which is lemony but fabulous. Really, everything was so wonderful, I never had an empty mimosa glass, the coffee was great, service was perfect, food was delicious, and the desserts. Well, I could write a whole other paragraph on that. Great brunch spot, pricey but totally worth it, I mean unlimited mimosas come on. That’s crazy.

Been here a handful of times. It’s always just ok. The food is decent, although the blacked ahi was way overcooked and dry last time. The service is pleasant but not sophisticated in any way. They kind of throw a million drink napkins all over the table and make a mess of everything while serving and clearing. It is a training ground for young waiters. Reason for taking to Unilocal for the record is that during my dinner saturday. Party of 5 adults. They were all over us and rushing us from start to finish. Drinks came, then while we were toasting, he interrupted to ask for an appetizers order. Those plates came out within 5 minutes of being ordered. When they dropped the apps, we put in our dinner orders. The dinners were out on the table before anyone had gotten halfway through their appetizers. I’m calling it 10 – 12 minutes from order to table. It was just ridiculous. Felt more like a sports bar than a restaurant.

Came here for brunch and it was a fun experience. The brunch is prefix/buffet style, and there are stations all along the perimeter of the first floor. There are tons of choices and the omelettes are made to order.

My family came here last night for an early Mother’s Day dinner and it was perfect! I had made a reservation ahead of time and even though we arrived 10 – 15 minutes early, we were immediately brought to our table where the menus were already set up. We were very quickly greeted by our very friendly and personable server, Gerard. He was very accommodating to some of the substitutions we made when ordering including my grandpa basically changing all of the sides it normally came with. He offered suggestions and favorites of his and was very attentive during our entire meal. I had the crab cake burger which was awesome. It came with homemade chips which were delicious but came with so many I could barely finish half of them. Other dishes we had were the ribs, salmon, and shrimp and scallop special. Everyone loved their food! I noticed they have specials on week nights which will definitely bring me back in the summer when I’m around the area. Not one thing to complain about– kudos Salt Creek Grill!

My boyfriend has been talking about coming here forever, but thinking of the 40 minute drive from southern Monmouth County has always deterred us. Due to an early start this past Friday, we finally decided to give Salt Creek Grille a shot. Upon arriving, we were met by a complete mess of a parking situation as a result of a private party coming in at the same time. However, our dining experience was well worth driving around aimlessly in the wrong direction throughout the parking lot for a good 15 minutes. We were seated early for our 8pm reservation and were greeted by a very friendly and knowledgeable server who proceeded to bring out decadent, melt-in-your-mouth garlic butter toast we had to hold ourselves back from going to town on. I started off with the cocktail special, which was a pomegranate martini. It tasted like candy, but not too sweet that all you taste is syrup. For appetizers, we started off with the ahi tuna stack and beef empanadas. Both were very good, and we both agreed the tuna tasted fresh and avocados were perfectly ripened on the stack. For our mains, I got a crab cake and my boyfriend got steak frites. His garlic fries were absolutely delicious. I thought my crab cake was good, but my boyfriend is a crab cake snob and was not as impressed. It was not jumbo lump, but shredded meat, and had chopped bell peppers mixed in. The corn salsa and almond rice that came on the side complemented my dish nicely. A little on the pricier side, but you are paying for good quality food, great service(from what we experienced), a really cozy ambiance featuring live music, and panoramic views of the Navesink River and Oceanic Bridge. I hope we get up here again soon!

We always like Salt Creek Grille. I had the Soy Glazed Atlantic Salmon with Brown Rice. It had a good flavor without too much spice. Tonight, Saturday was unusually quiet as it was another cold and snowy night. We had reservations and were able to sit near the widows. I would recommend using Open Table to easily make your reservations and pick an available time. We are going back to The Salt Creek Grille again this Monday. Wait staff is friendly and attentive.
