I wanted to like this place. I don’t. What’s wrong? The bread. They bake their own bread. They buy a sort of brown and serve product they finish off onsite. It’s awful. Bad favor, dense crumb. Not at all like a hoagie roll. Might be OK in MD when it comes from, but not here. The ingredients. The turkey is slimy and rubbery. If you like slimy and rubber mystery meat, the amount you get is slim. The lettuce was soggy. Drowned in oil. I didn’t detect any vinegar. Take a look at the photos I posted and tell me you’d eat that. The place is run by a guy trying to make a go of it. It’s not a chain. He’s working hard. I just don’t like his product.

The last time I ate here I was disappointed with the new ownership/food. I would have liked to try The Works again but no one answered the phone after a handful of calls for delivery. I guess it hasn’t gotten any better…

New ownership and the food has gotten even better! Order anything from cheesesteaks to cold sandwiches and you will be content. Small parking lot in the back makes this more of a pickup or delivery place than an eat in place.

Ok, so there’s only like one or two things I can actually order here. But I always get the same thing anyway and it’s always satisfying and a decent vegan meal available in Audubon. Definite points. I get the hot veggie deluxe(I think the sizes are mini, half, and… huge?) and ask for no cheese, though I don’t know if it normally has it anyway. It’s basically grilled veggies like broccoli and peppers and spinach in marinara sauce and it’s delicious. Good bread too, which is apparently made on premises. And they’ve never messed up my order. They also have fries, mozzerella sticks, soup, etc. And usually has deals like getting a free calzone or stromboli or something.
