Everything was just OK. There was nothing special. The atmosphere and seat yourself aspect were the best things. It was just a basic meal almost had a fast food vibe to it. I asked for tea without lemon and was given lemon anyway. I am from Mississippi and so far, GA has had some good sweet tea, but this tea was just OK. I should have ordered grill instead of fried because I just tasted the batter. I didn’t finish. The waiter mixed up our bills and seemed to be rushing. When I say mixed up, I mean items from my friend’s bill were added to mine and our other friend had something from my bill. We paid, tipped and left. I wouldn’t recommend or return. It has some good reviews, so maybe they were just off because it was Valentine’s Day weekend, but the place was in no way packed. There was also no military discount.

Beamie’s has numerous bottles of craft beer to offer, but unfortunately no tap system. A friend I was with took full advantage of the $ 2.50 Sunday bloody mary special. Their food is simple and reasonably priced. I got grilled shrimp and catfish, which came with rice as well as a side of my choosing. It came out quick and was pretty good, although a little heavily seasoned for my taste. The pasta salad was average. I sat next to a colorful aquarium while I ate and I give the atmosphere an A+; seems like a cozy bar. This might be a good spot for lunch that is not fast food, but honestly it’s nothing special.

(Only one star due to just being seated) Checking in to give it a try since I was on a stroll checking out the area. Will update with service review soon. UPDATE: Service was good and so was the food. I had the combo basket(shrimp & catfish) and hubby had combo basket(catfish & fried oysters). He wasn’t too thrilled with the fried oysters but we will definitely be back.

Ok, I have to update a few things in my previous review!!! The shrimp, tea, and tartar sauce were still pretty good but those green beans tasted like they just dumped them out of a can and put them on the plate! They were HORRIBLE!!! I don’t know what happened to the green beans. Maybe they hired a new cook and hadn’t trained him well enough but I didn’t like them at all. I sent the green beans back and asked for pasta salad and that had too many onions in it making it hard to enjoy, swallow, and digest. I don’t know what in the world happened to those things I mentioned because they were great before. Maybe I should wait a few more months and go try them again!!! I hope that it was just a bad day and not what they will be serving!!! I will be highly upset!!!

After a long day at the Head of the South regatta, we decided a restaurant right across the street from our hotel was a perfect fit. I Unilocaled Beamies to check the reviews and was really confused by the inconsistencies of comments but that didn’t keep me away, thankfully. The service was friendly, timely and informed. Our server was attentive and knowledgable and very upbeat. My husband and I had burgers(black and blue for me and mushroom and Swiss for him) and while we ordered medium rare, it was more medium, but still juicy and very favorable. We shared our sides: chips and Cole slaw, and both tasted homemade. Given this first dining experience, I know we would go back.

Had lunch here today. Dining room was full. I sat in the bar area. Service was fast. My waitress checked on me 4 times, so service was great. I had the oyster po boy. It was good. The cole slaw was good as well. I have read the complaints about slow service. It wasn’t there today. They had adequate wait staff for a full dining room. They all kept busy. My food arrived within 5 mins of ordering. I may go back for dinner tonight.

I’ve only been once and it was a lackluster experience. The shrimp po boy sandwich my boyfriend ordered was bland and soggy. The shrimp tasted freezer burnt. Our server was not interested in checking on us for the most part. I ran out of soda and never once got a refill.

Not very good, I’m pretty sure the flounder I ordered was actually tilapia. I requested the fish grilled and it was a bit over seasoned for my taste. Hushpuppies were too greasy. The food is not bad(I ate it), service was good. I won’t come back.

I’ve visited 3 times, doubt I’ll return. Today my daughter and 2 grandsons waited over an hour for our food. 7 shrimp for 9.99. Nothing on Rhineharts. Had to request items more than once. Worst service out of my 3 visits.

My husband and I love this little spot. Great location and really nice atomsphere. Usually when we go my husband loves the lemon pepper wings and the teriyaki wings. The fried mushrooms where really good, the dip that was provide with it was an absolute treat. I really rarely pay attention to the drink specials, but the have them every night of the week. It’s funny to say that I have not eaten any seafood there, but I will eventually(considering I am not a seafood lover)! The hush puppies are a treat that you don’t want to share. The French dip isy favorite. It comes with roast beef, melted swiss cheese and aujux dipping sauce(which can be a little salty at times). The offer appetizers, burgers, entrees, sandwiches, and baskets. a pretty good menu selection. We enjoy Beamies each time we go, next time I will try something different.

Overall it was an okay experience… But. The calamari wasn’t the best… And for the price they are charging I expected better. The service was so so. Other then that the food was good. Can’t say I’ll be back.

Great local seafood joint. Especially considering we aren’t that near to the sea. The fried catfish was on point, as was the jambalaya. The shrimp was a good size and had a good flavor. I ordered a grateful dead to drink and it was made just right as was my girlfriend’s white russian. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. We sat at a high top and the bartender took care of us. Though we had to ask him for his name, Matt, he took very good care of us.

I was neither impressed by the food or the wait staff. My appetizer came out about 5 minutes before my meal came out, so that was bothersome. It took us around 30 minutes to get our food, and they were not at all busy. A 10 – 12 minute ticket time is what should have occurred. I ordered a combo platter, and nothing on it tasted that great other than the shrimp, and that was simply just passable. The fish was way too salty, essentially to the point where it was inedible, and everything else on my plate was just bland. We also heard a member of the wait staff proclaim that she didn’t want to wait on a patron that had just come in because she seemed as if she would be rude. Absolutely unprofessional! I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant, nor will I be returning to it.

Literally sitting in the«restaurant» right now. And disgusted by the service. Their menu has a disclaimer on it saying that they will be slow… And this is no lie. Their food is okay at best. But their service is abysmal. Don’t waste your time here. Unless you want to wait thirty minutes and pay 2.99 extra for a salad that apparently doesn’t exist.

We came with a group of 9. We had 2 servers, one taking orders and the other Refilling drinks and what not. You’d think there would be no problem huh? We ordered our food and when ready, only half the table got their food. The other half got theirs 10 minutes later. Oh, but they forgot one other persons dinner. We ordered a mixture of food. Everything was really bland. We sauced down our food in order to «enjoy» it. When we asked one of the servers for Heinz 57 she said she was not sure if they carried it??? Well 2 servers and 15 minutes later we received the 57 sauce. We only got refills when our glasses were completely emptied. After we were all done and ready to go they finally brought out the last persons food. No manager ever visited our table to apologize but we were not charged for the last meal.

The server was very attentive and answered questions about the menu honestly(when I asked about the pasta salad, she told me to try something different because it was too dry in her opinion). I ended up ordering a flat bread sandwich that was very good and easy to make healthier by having the dressing served on the side. I also had a bite of the crab cakes, and they were awesome. The only downside to Beamies is the portion size: it’s small for the price when ordering seafood.

Been here many times. It is under new ownership. The food has changed drastically. I cut the bun for the fish sandwich in half, due to the very small size of the fish. The hush puppies have very little taste. The atmosphere and staff are great, so go for drinks, but if you are hungry, keep heading down the road.

This review has nothing to do with the food. I was traveling from Atlanta to Charleston and stopped in to grab a late lunch. I managed to leave my debit card at the table and did not discover this until I was 100 miles away and could not return because of other commitments. I called Beamie’s, they had recovered the card and offered to mail it to the next day. I offered to pay for it but was told that wes unnecessary. I received the card two days later. I can’t thank the staff enough for their honestly and willingness to return my card at no cost. My faith in humanity is restored.

I’ve been here a few times and the food is below average. The only reason I have given this place 3 stars and will continue to go back is because the staff is amazing(Hailey), remembers your name, makes the place feel welcoming, and the desserts they serve from next door are great. A few things that would take it up to 4 or 5 stars: update the old TVs, install more TVs, brighten up the place a little, and try to fix the food.

I just got to give a five star when one is warranted. I stayed at the hotel down the street and the front desk staff told me about this restaurant. It is casual, has a noisy bar, and frankly the wait staff is not quick. But with all that said, the food was fantastic. I had a shrimp poor boy with a side of craw fish one night… it was so good that I went back another night. I mixed it up a bit and had oysters on the half shell… and a side of craw fish. I have had better oysters but they were still good, and the craw fish… absolutely fantastic. All in all, the food was perfect, and the prices were acceptable. You won’t go wrong having a meal here!!!
