Great food! great service! perfect location… What more can I say? This place is a great addition to the Augusta area. It’s also walking distance to a movie theater and sports bar.

I came here with my boyfriend for the first time after hearing a friend mention it. The young lady at the counter, Emma I believe, was very nice and helped us make our selections since we weren’t familiar with the place. My boyfriend loved what he ordered. I wasn’t pleased with mine, due to no fault of the restaurant, I just wasn’t in love with the flavoring of the dish. Basically I hadn’t realized some of the ingredients. The manager noticed I wasn’t eating and asked what was wrong, I said I just didn’t care for it. He very nicely offered to get me another item, which I loved! What could have been a lack luster experience was turned into a very enjoyable one by the great staff. We will certainly be returning!

Fast food Asian is the best I can describe it, and they do a really nice job. Menu is somewhat small but they crank out a quality bowl or plate within a few minutes and bring it to your table. I got the basil fried rice, thinking I’d add some of the Sriracha provided on the table to spice it up, but it had a great flavor all on its own. A lot of their dishes include jalapeños or some other spicy ingredient, but I’m sure they’d make it less spicy if asked. Amount of food was too much to finish, not quite enough to take home in a box. I will definitely return.

Great food. I like their tofu options. I’ve never had an issue with the portion sizes others have mentioned. I’ve also never had a problem with the prices. For great food, it’s the same price, if not less than Panera bread. They could fill the coconut soup cups a little more. Mostly because their coconut soup is delish and every ounce counts. I liked the tofu tikka masala, panang and massamun curries, as well as the pad thai, though the pad thai did run the risk of being bland. If you think of them as a little fast food joint, they go above and beyond. Obviously, they don’t fit the niche of a full Thai restaurant. I’ll continue to be a regular.

My wife and I went in for lunch. Very friendly staff greeted us immediately. The canned music was unobtrusive and low enough in volume to easily carry on a conversation. One orders at the counter, sits, and are then served by the staff at one’s table. The food was served quickly and courteously. My «Mango» was thermally hot, though not as spicy hot as I would have liked; however, it was delicious and the chicken moist and not over-cooked. Plenty of mango and onion, too. I would have preferred it several degrees spicier, but next time I’ll ask up front to have it amped up. My wife got the«Basil,» which she said had just the right amount of basil, but, for her tender palate, was a tad too spicy(though she managed to finish the portion, I should add). Her chicken, too, was moist and very good. The spring rolls were freshly fried, okay, but not great… again, a little more spice(not necessarily«hot» spice) would have been much appreciated. I had the orange mango tea, while my wife had the ginger ale. Both were surprisingly great and refreshing… she said the ginger ale was almost as good as Blenheim’s! Overall, very good culinary experience and will give it 4 out of 5. We will return to try other items on the menu.

I was so eager to finally try Tin Drum that I Literally Ordered Ahead of the Nice Gentleman in Front of Me. So I shared my coupons with him since I could only use Ine of the Two I had. He was very kind at my Rudeness. The food came right away. I ordered two shrimp tacos. A cup of egg drop soup and the crab n cheese spring roll. All but the soup tasted fresh. The soup lacked the thickness of traditional egg drop, that may be my ignorance of the New Asian Fusion. The Tacos were delicious, but I desired a sweetness that it lacked. Personal tasted. It was still Stellar. The Service was Amazing. Loving the Atmosphere. And the STAFF. COMINGBACK to try the Entrees. :-)

love the food, but the past 2 times we have gone(over the course of 4 days) we have had off putting service by the same cashier. one time is a bad day, 2xs you are just not a people person and should not work the register. aside from being less than friendly we had to ask for the advertised special prices, which we were met with snippy comments. i am not sure if the outstanding food is worth the craptastic service

This Is a fast food attempt to Americanized-Asian food. The Pad Thai tastes like molasses. I did like the Kang yum mango salad. The Thai basil roll was fresh but sauce was nothing like a Thai peanut sauce.

I ordered the«phở» and it was disgusting. They didn’t use the right type of noodles or broth.

Ambience. C Service. A Food. B– Price. A You walk in and you smell the woks cooking and stir frying deliciousness. Hope it’s been a while. Hope it tastes as good as it smells. After I left picking up my order I noticed I smelled like an oil vat. They need better ventilation. Cashier was very friendly but wasn’t sure about the use of fish sauce in the pad Thai. I asked for extra on the side as most Americanized placed just never seem to have enough emame. Ordered pad Thai and the mango chicken to go. Not a fan of the sweet pad Thai or thin rice noodles they use. Sweet snd dry. The spicy mango chicken is okay. Nice and spicy. And good flavor. The spring rolls were ample size and just okay. Prices are very affordable and there’s a combo duo for $ 15 to include 2 entrees with either spring roll or soup. Not my favorite dishes today.

I had the low men, awful. Not just awful though, the chicken that was used clearly frozen, the noodles stuck to my teeth and the consistency was terrible. I highly doubt that I will ever be going back. It twas disgusting and I’m pretty sure that I’m getting sick from eating it.

This restaurant claims to be inspired by the outdoor street food found in the cities of Asia. That might have been the inspiration but the food is nothing like the experience. The freshness, color, aromas, flavors and low price were pretty much absent. I went to Tin Drum for the 1st time this afternoon and ordered the«Sing Chow», hoping to get something similar to Singaporean curried fried vermicelli. When it came, I knew right away what this was all about; someone in the back kitchen following a recipe rather than someone who knew how to balance flavor, texture and temperature. Most street food vendors in Southeast Asia can do this well, but then again, this is Augusta Georgia and most local patrons will not have been to Asia to know the difference. My vermicelli noodles were over flavored, with too much cheap yellow curry powder matted into the noodles. The pieces of chicken were saturated with the same curry sauce making no distinction in taste from the other ingredients in the dish. Color came in the form of 2 small sprigs of green onion, and the top thin slice of a jalapeño complete with the stem button. I took two bites to taste and just had to shove it away. If I’m going to drop over 10 bucks for a small bowl of fried noodles and a soft drink, then I expect something much better. Augusta needs a good basic and authentic Vietnamese Phở and Bahn Mi restaurant run by people who know how to prepare dishes properly. For now, we’ve got to go out to Columbia county or Atlanta.

That was an unpleasant first. yeah tastes ok but not 20 bucks worth. Check out my soup pic to check out why. .update when I called they admitted they made a mistake and have remade the order at no cost

I ate dinner here a while back and it was decent. I remember thinking I’d try it again. Then I had a Dr. s office request it for a lunch I was doing. I found the catering menu online, and placed an order. There is a catering menu online, but there are no prices listed. This drives me crazy. When I’m trying to plan a lunch I’m usually trying to stay on a budget. There are a lot of places that are guilty of this no price phenomenon. However you can place an order online. So I placed an online order and it it took over 24 hours for the store to reach out and contact me to let me know that they had received my order. In my eyes they should have confirmed the order, told me a price or an estimated price, and let me know if they would be providing me with utensils and cups plates etc. I had to respond to the email and ask these things. I specified a pick up time and when I arrived to pick it up it was not packed and ready to go as they had promised. It was all done and it only took them about 5 to 7 minutes to load a bag of sauces, the food, utensils etc., and help me get it to my car. When I reached out to ask if they would be providing me with the paper goods I needed I was told yes. However when I arrived at my doctors office I noticed that I had no cups. Luckily everyone seemed to enjoy the food. Each tray was said to be about 10 people. What I noticed was that the trays were mostly rice and for the astronomical price that I feel like I paid for this meal I should’ve gotten more meat and veggies. My order consisted of two trays, chicken tacos, spring rolls and tea. The spring rolls and tacos must’ve been very good because they were devoured. The sesame stirfry was also popular. The Thai basil rice did not go as quickly. In fact, most of it was left. In the end everything was fine, I just feel as though something’s should have been done differently. Communication certainly could have been better. And the meal was very pricey for what I got. Thank goodness there was a Unilocal check in offer and I got a small discount!

This is the second time I’ve been to Tin Drum and it’s been good both times. This time around, I tried the Crab ‘n’ Cheese Spring Roll and it was so fresh! It felt a lot healthier than your normal crab rangoons, just in a different form. The dipping sauce was perfect with it! For an entrée, I ordered the sesame bowl and it was really good. It was heavy on the sauce, so if you are not a sauce person I suggest asking for light sauce. I like coming here because you can get your Asian food fix and not feel horrible afterwards. It tastes healthy. I will be returning!

If you’re feeling exotic and indecisive the Tin Drum will offer a variety of Asian flavors at a low price. You can find anything from street noodles to curry bowls for around $ 8 a piece. I recommend finding their weekday deals for extra savings. — Variety of Asian food — Reasonable pricing — Friendly staff — Crazy parking — Longer night hours — Fantastic deals — Check out the pics I started out with the Thai Chicken Taco($ 3) that has a chili Hoisin sauce. The taco held together very well and was so packed that every bite was dropping food onto the plate. A light eater could get full from two tacos. I moved on to the Tin Drum Curry($ 7.95) which is trumpeted as a cult favorite, hence the brand name. You wouldn’t put your name on it unless it was good, right? This dish not only looks amazing but comes with a creamy chili-garlic coconut curry over crispy tempura chicken and fresh baby spinach, sprinkled with roasted almonds. The curry sauce is packed with flavor and the spinach adds good texture. The thickness of the curry held the rice together making the dish easier to eat with chop stix. I finished by destroying my wife’s Kung Pao Stir Fry($ 7.75) which ended up being my least favorite. The dish came with chili soy sauce, bell peppers, onions, crushed chili, crushed peanut, and sautéed chicken on a bed of steamed white rice. The dish had good texture with green bell peppers for a crunch but I had to use spoon to finish rice because of soy sauce. I tossed everything back with some Organic Mango juice that was by the register. It was well worth the $ 3. I know a lot of people that call this their favorite spot and I know that I’ll be coming back for more.

A friend of mine swears by this place, he is always talking about how great the food is. So one afternoon we decided to catch a movie and have lunch as well. So we decided on this place since it’s right across the street from the movies. This place is extremely small. I can imagine that it will be hectic in here if there was a lunch rush!!! The menu is on the right wall but they do have paper menus on the counter. I was kind of familiar with the menu because I had goggled their menu and tried decide what I would actually like and order when I did dine here. I had chose the Tikki Masala when I glanced at the menu but changed my mind and ordered the Sesame Stir Fry. This would be my first time trying Sesame chicken. I wanted to try something that wasn’t out of my comfort zone. I’m kind of a picky eater so this was a great choice. It had a few basic ingredients in it. Sesame chicken, broccoli, rice, and sesame seeds were the ingredients. I actually enjoyed it but I feel the portion was kind of small. I will ask for extra meat next time to defeat my hunger. The cashier was very friendly and checked on us several times to make sure our lunch was great. The bathroom was clean and fully stocked. This dining experience set the stage for a great day. I think I’m going to bring my family here to try them out and see if they will like them as well.

Not bad for fast food. My salad had fresh ingredients, but was a little over priced for what it was — we all know iceberg lettuce is fairly cheap. My husbands tacos weren’t bad either, but still, nothing remarkable. If you’re looking for something quick and healthy this place isn’t a bad choice

I was looking for a vegetarian restaurant in the Augusta area. Tin Drum came up in my search. Good reviews and menu looked good so thought I would try it. Located next to Limelite Café. Tin Drum is Asian inspired street food. From Vietnamese, Indian to Thai food, there is something for everyone. What I love about this place is great for vegetarians. You can substitute chicken with Tofu(their chicken is USDA organic). They also have a gluten free section. My mother and I came here for lunch and I wanted something light and healthy. You walk up and order your meal. They give you a table number and will bring your food out to you. I got the Chop Chop Salad– With lettuce, tomato, cucumber, carrots, crispy wontons, toasted sesame seeds, sautéed chicken and sesame ginger as my dressing. I substituted the chicken for Tofu. My mom got Pad Thai Noodle with Sweet Thai citrus sauce, stir-fry rice noodle, scallions, bean sprouts, carrots, lime, crushed peanut, egg, sautéed chicken. I also got a side of chicken pot stickers(you get three). Only took less than 15 minutes to get our food. My meal was simple yet very delicious. The tofu was not greasy or mushy(cooked just right). They gave me enough dressing on the side. Chicken pot stickers not greasy either and hot. My mom’s meal was good, but she was not too thrilled. She mentioned it was not authentic Asian Pad Thai. She said it was ok, but she wouldn’t order it again. The staff was really friendly and patient with us since it was our first time dining in. Restaurant and Bathrooms clean. Plenty of parking in the front and the side building. I would return, because there are quite of few healthy options on the menu. You can order online and they cater. Great place!
