I came from out of town and was disappointed with this sandwich shop. I am a huge fan of sandwiches and the reviews for this place were great, so I had high expectations. First, the location is adorable. I love the look of the place. The person working was nice. They didn’t have a restroom which was annoying, and the water they supplied was very warm. It was a cooler filled with water, which would have been great if there was ice or something in the water to keep the sun from heating it up. The waiter did bring me a cup of ice upon request though. The sandwich was… meh. It was decent. Unfortunately getting attacked by bugs the whole time turned a decent sandwich into a crappy sandwich. To allow customers to enjoy their stay I would implement bug repellant measures. So, no, I won’t be coming back next time I’m in Austin.

Everything you’ve heard about The Edward sandwich is true. It’s delicious and vegan. What? Yea.

Really awesome sandwich shop! I tried the braised pork tacos and the hubs did the Cuban. Really delicious and rich flavors. Had the tacos instead of torta and really enjoyed the mint instead of cilantro. Will definitely be back!

Checked ADP out yesterday — pretty decent food. Wasn’t a huge fan of mine, but my friend’s sandwich looked fantastic. Their location is very cool, but I got eaten alive by mosquitoes.

Really good/unqiue sandwiches in East Austin. Went here because it’s close to the UT Community Garden. It is all outdoor seating, which is fine for most time of the year. I had the falafel sandwich, which came with a nice pumpkin seed romesco sauce. Falafel was also moist and flavorful. The sandwich was well-seasoned, so I was definitely pleased! Perhaps the only gripe is the portions are a tad small.

BLT and house chips are great! I would come here all the time if I worked a little closer. I have only been here once so far for an afternoon lunch, but I have seen enough to come back. Next time I’ll be looking to try the tacos!

Do yourself a favor and get the BLT and add mozzarella. Their house chips are a GREAT addition, btw. Their bacon is cured in-house and it’s reeeeaaally good bacon. Like, why can’t everyone serve bacon this good? I cannot describe how happy my stomach is right now. I literally just finished the sandwich and I’m so happy I ordered this for lunch today. I called in an order for pickup and the service was great and order was made in a timely manner. They ended up giving me some extra house chips from a previous order so I paid for just the sandwich. I love this place. More people need to know about this place. And get their BLT.

Ate here on a Friday night and it was great! Low key with really great ingredients. We got the special, which was unique and exciting along with the Lucy, which lived up to the ranking I saw in the Austin Chronicle. Can’t wait to come back.

The space is cool, the sandwiches are meh, and the prices are kinda high. I got a bacon breakfast sandwich that had egg and cheese on it. The bacon was extremely crispy, which is definitely not my style, and the whole thing was pretty dry and could have used a sauce or more melty cheese(it was pretty solidified). The brioche bread which appears to be their speciality was flaky, but again, pretty dry and kinda bland. I also tried the Lil Pig sandwich that had pulled pork, sweet pickles, and some BBQ sauce. It was all fine, nothing special, and of course there are plenty of other places around town that have incredibly good pulled pork sandwiches.

This was the first place I came to eat at in Austin and was completely blown away about this place. If you are looking for a lunch place while visiting Austin, COMEHERE. This place is the epitome of hipster-awesome-cool-food place you’d want to try when you’re here. One thing I didn’t realize was that many places in Austin have a window from which you order food and then bring it to a picnic table outside. Only down-side to this is that when the weather gets cold, you probably need to keep your jacket on to stay warm(that’s why I gave this a 4⁄5 instead of 5⁄5). THe food, however, was exceptional. I had«The Edward Torta Vegan» which was EXCELLENT. This is a great vegan option; I’ve never had edamame fritter before; but that’s what made the meat of the burger. I don’t even know what garlic peanut sauce is, but however much they put on it was just the right amount. Outside of these things; the cilantro, mint, etc. made it taste super green and was super fresh and crisp; and excellent burger to get even if you’re a meat-eater. There is definitely something inside these Jalepeno Hushpuppies. They are extremely well-seasoned(and for never having had any kind of hushpuppies before, I really hope this doesn’t set the bar too high) but they were definitely better than just balls of corn bread; these were very tasty balls of bread(as far as I can tell of what a hushpuppy is) that I could have had an entire meal of had I not had the aforementioned sandwich. Definitely a fan of this place; and highly recommended.

They have some really great and creative veg options, and – I mean really – who can say no to «free beer Fridays»? Also, the staff has been really friendly every time I’ve visited.

Came here for dinner a couple nights ago. I moved into the neighborhood and wanted to try some spots that are walking distance to my house. I had the pineapple express. First, I was a little surprised at how expensive the sandwiches were– AND that they didn’t come with chips or fries or anything– but then I actually saw the sandwich and realized it was ginormous and totally filling. Sandwich was really interesting. I love the basil? Cilantro? they included in it. I felt like every bite was filled with flavor. The people who worked there were nice enough, and the night I came it was a nice temperature out so eating at the picnic table was fun. I’ll be back and will be a little more ready to spend ~$ 11 for a panini.

ADP has turned into one of my favorite chill spots. They provide some of the best window service in town. I have never been disappointed and have always enjoyed anything I’ve tried. I love the hush puppies and you will too. Try them! My other recommendations would be the breakfast tacos, 2 for $ 5 with a cup of cold brew coffee. For lunch any of the panini sandwiches with hush puppies and a topo Chico.

I’m sure this will become one of my favorite lunch spots since it is so close to the UT campus. The Edward is a fantastic vegetarian option with unique ingredients that aren’t over the top. The edamame fritters are excellent and mix well with the pickled onions. Everyone knows that a good sandwich starts with the bread, and the torta bread on the Edward is pillowy and soft, just as it should be. Ordered a side of the chips which were clearly freshly made and good, but I’m more of a seasoned chips/fries girl so those lacked for me a little. I tried my friend’s churritos and oh man are those good. Especially with magical vanilla dipping glaze.

Austin Daily Press — As Toasted As You Are! haha — brilliant. Love this place — it is part of a Trifecta and shares a lot with Juiceland and The Wheel. Their partnership with The Wheel delivers a wonderful experience, as you can have a drink at The Wheel and have your tasty viddles delivered to you whilst you continue to socialize. They also have covered, outdoor seating available for customers that just want a DAMNTASTYSANDWICH… save the alcohol for later. Wait — what’s that you say? You don’t want a sandwich, you want a taco or salad? They can do that, with their witch ways — anything on the menu can be a salad, tacos or sandwich! Huzzah! Hushpuppies — shhhhhhh… dont’ tell anyone or there won’t be any left for us! They might be my favorite thing on the menu and the price can’t be beat with 6 of those fried puppies for $ 4. Service is always polite and prompt and the food is delicious.

This is my happy place. I was soooo happy when I discovered this place one night with friends on the way to The Wheel. I immediately fell in love with their amazing menu(their staples menu is incrediballs, but they also have special daily features that are kinda always mind-blowing), but knew it was meant to be when my mouth was introduced to the drool-inducing nom-ness of their pineapple express and hushpuppies. I don’t live on this side of town, but when visiting my friend who does, thoughts of ADP goodness always cross my mind. I recently strayed from my «usual» and was not disappointed… their mole mushroom oaxaca cheese panini is… well, it is just NOM!!! They also were featuring persimmon ketchup. Are you serious, ADP?! I usually avoid ketchup like the tomato based plague that it is, but whenever I come across«fancy» ketchup my tastebuds perk up and my interests are immediately piqued. Needless to say, this stuff is made of the dreams of other ketchup and was so good I literally just dipped my finger in it and went to persimmon ketchup heaven! Oh, and lest I forget the fried flavorful majesty that is their brussel sprouts? This one speaks for itself, so just let it happen. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything here and if you do, you don’t wanna be right!

I want their hushpuppies pretty much all the time. And their lavender lemonade. And their pineapple express sandwich. And their mole and mushroom panini. And I want it now. These things. All of these things. Should be in my face. Right. Now. Stop by, grab your deliciousness and dig in. Or you can hang out at the Wheel, and they’ll deliver it to you. They are great for any time of day or night. Now open late! Be sure to ask about the special of the day!

Their many sandwiches are very, very tasty. They have created some very thoughtful combinations, and all the ingredients are very high quality. I would recommend checking out the special, because those babies are works of art. I also highly recommend the waffle cut chips, and the garbanzo bean side. I only wish they had umbrellas or an umbrella alternative over their eating area! Every time I’ve gone, there has been an unpleasant element of squinting at my beautiful sandwich because the early dinner time sun is bearing down, straight into my cornea, my sunglasses rendered useless. I have brought visiting family and friends here for the food, and would highly recommend it to you and yours. It’s a crowd pleaser because you can make anything a salad, and for the truly diet-restricted, Juiceland is next door.

Great find. Austin vibe of a trailer like experience next to Daily Juice. I had a Pineapple Express(chicken, ham, chutney and more) as a taco(they can make it as a salad and sandwich) and it was delicious. The sweetness was offset by the spicy sauce. It was all gone before I realized it. The girls had The Lucy, pork with Sriracha and aioli. Plenty of cilantro, which was a big hit with my wife. The Bar B Cuban was inhaled by another family member. The service was friendly and mellow. Dietary issues(no dairy) were quickly handled, and they also turned off a fan that was cooling things down a bit too much immediately once we asked. As noted in other reviews, all seating is outdoors, bathrooms are at The Wheel next door, and you may have to hunt for parking … but … Hanging out with my family on outdoor picnic benches, eating good food and enjoying the outdoor vibe — beautiful.

For a few months I kept seeing other Unilocalers check in to the place called Austin Daily Press and I didn’t really get that it was food for a bit … not until my friend, Kimberly K expressed her love for the cute little sandwich spot. Then it all came to me … I promise I am smarter than this makes me sound, but anyway on to my review… It’s a small food stand with outdoor seating only or you can have it delivered to the Wheel next door so you can sip on a cocktail and indulge all at the same time. That’s my kind of dining and just what Kim and I did. I got the Pineapple Express sandwich with the handmade chips. Kim ordered a taco and the jalapeño hush puppies. We went over to the Wheel, ordered a drink, sat down on their patio and wallah… our food was delivered to our table. It looked delicious! The pineapple express torta was roasted chicken, black forest ham, pineapple ginger chutney, Monterrey jack cheese, spicy ranch and cilantro. It was sooo good! the sandwich was packed with flavor and freshness! My chips were great too — they were a bit different and almost what I would call waffle chips. This was all around a solid sandwich for sure! If all the sandwiches are this tasty then I look forward to trying more of the menu if I can convince myself to sway from the pineapple express. I also tasted the jalapeño hush puppies and they were so fluffy and delicious too! The prices here are just right, so how could you not be a fan of this little spot?!

4.5 stars — Happened to try this place before a Broadway show. This was close on east MLK and had great reviews. Really liked it and was pleasantly surprised by the taste. They sell tortas which is a sandwich on a bun similar to kebap(torta seems the Mexican version). I tried the falafel and also the Edward. The Edward was really amazing, one of the best veggie sandwiches I’ve eaten. It was made of edamame fritters(amazing idea — nutritious, tasty and healthy), spinach, guacamole, cilantro, onions, red peppers and had a peppery sauce. It was crunchy, and had that sweet and for umami thing going for it. The Falafel was also pretty good but not out of this world. Both the sandwiches were well made, toasted well and crunchy, no sloppy business. I also tried the hush puppies; a bread fritter with jalapeños — loved it. I was glad to see that they didn’t serve the traditional(poisonous) colas. We enjoyed a fresh watermelon Fresca, was a very refreshing treat in the summer. Also there is a juice place right next door. Overall, they use premium ingredients, provide great portions, at a very reasonable pricing and have nice seating area as well. No parking hassles. ADP is doing everything right. Definitely coming back here again every chance I get!

So I haven’t actually been to the location but I have used Favor to bring the food to me. I really like the swiss, pineapple ginger chutney panini($ 5) and add ham($ 2). The flavor is just pretty amazing. For sides I enjoy the jalapeño hush puppies or the caprese salad. A friend ordered the blue balls and they’re pretty tasty as well. We’ve used Favor a few times for ADP and I get the same thing. The last time they forgot my ham though and still charged us for it so that was a bummer. The sandwich didn’t taste as good without the meat in my opinion. I still love this place though and one day I’ll make it to the actual location.

I admit that the only reason why I came here was due to the current promotion of «Free Beer Friday.» Yes Austin Daily Press, you got my attention with that one! A very small venue with outdoor seating only, ADP has a menu of mainly sandwiches via burgers, chicken and cubans. On this visit, I chose the BBQ cuban sandwich, and had to get it to go. The sandwich is wrapped initially in wax paper, then in a newspaper(thought that was pretty cool) that reflects the old school way of doing it. The folks inside take their time making it just right, which is appreciated. The beer is not bad. Yeah, you won’t be getting free Sam Adams, Stella Artois or Beck’s, but the beer that Austin Daily Press serves is fine. When its 105 degrees out, you really aren’t that picky. As long as the beer is cold(which it is), I’m happy. Parking can be a bit of a challenge at some times. The juice bar on the corner just doesn’t have enough, so your best bet is to try to find a spot closest to one of the bars in the back of the small shopping plaza. Same goes for using the bathroom as well. Since Austin Daily Press is outdoor seating only, they don’t have bathroom access. You’ll have to use one of the bars as aforementioned. Service was pretty good. I appreciate the fact that the person that takes your order(a very attractive female) also brings you the order to your table/bar seating area. None of this«Order up, come get it» stuff. Austin Daily Press, where have you been all of my life?

Wow, I’m so glad I found this place. Their hushpuppies are probably the best I’ve ever had, anywhere, ever! Amazeballs, literally. Their homemade chips and aioli are also fantastic. 5 stars on the apps, seriously. Their sandwiches are 4 star worthy in their own right. So far I’ve tried the falafel and the pineapple express sliders, I liked them both and I want to continue to work my way through their menu to try some others. It works far better if you call in your order ahead of time for pick up; I used the Eat24 service through Unilocal and it was ready and waiting when I got there. All of the tables are picnic tables outside, some with shade and others in the direct sun. The flies were swarming me while I was eating last week, so that was not ideal(fly paper or traps or something maybe?). But the food was great, and I will keep on coming back as long as they keep serving it up. And in closing, a joke for you or your young children: What is the quietest kind of a dog? A hush puppy. Ba dum bum ching! Seriously, get the hush puppies here!
