This is the kind of place where you have to be into their ideology to really appreciate it. It’s not a typical bookstore, in that they only sell stuff that deals with Libertarianism or, more accurately, Agorism. All fairly interesting to me, but not something I feel strongly enough about to frequent BNB. Having said that, the staff were all incredibly polite and professional. I ordered a book from here for a friend and stopped in personally to pick it up, even though it was rather out of my way. But I wanted to go someplace new, so I battled for parking on Guadalupe and then hoofed it in. The place is tucked in between two other places, and you have to take stairs underground to get to it, which I thought was pretty awesome. They have one thing that intrigued me, which is an actual BitCoin ATM. I’d never seen one before. I’ve researched BitCoin several times and only now have a basic understanding of it. They have literature there that touts it, among many other things, as being a potential currency of the homeless, to make their holdings more secure and fair. Although how they expect the average homeless individual to keep up with this technology when they often struggle to find food and permanent housing or even long-term internet access and when they could very easily have their digital BitCoin«wallet» stolen, has not yet been explained to me. At any rate, it was pretty cool to see.

The fourth star is because of their passion for what they do. I would really like to see a bit better selection in both the amount of books and if they are going to be in the health supplement game more diversity of that too. Cool shop but very light on inventory.

Great place to find out what is going on behind the scene politically and in business. As a Ron Paul supporter I feel very comfortable there. All views are respected and there is always a good discussion going on.

Austin’s première retailer of Youngevity products such as Beyond Tangy Tangerine, as well as EnerHealth, ShenTrition, Cowbend Soaps, and pure rain on top of books that deal with suppressed information that you would have to otherwise order online. Books from Best selling author Jim Marrs, G. Edward Griffin, and Ayn Rand to name a few. Located literally and figurative underground, the atmosphere of the store fits in perfectly with their objective. The staff are very helpful are and more than eager to engage in discussions and they often have guest speakers and book signings. They also take the Go Local card and can special order products not in stock. My personal experience was with this was the store ordering a copy of the«Clockwork Angels» audiobook by Kevin J. Anderson and Neil Peart. So if you want to want the truth over the«Official Story» head on over to Brave New Books.

YES! This place rocks! I found out about this place on the radio and I keep coming back. I’ve made friends here by just listening to them talk among each other. It not only has informative books, but many educational DVDs and several meetings, lectures, or screenings per week. If you want to learn what is really going on politically and how to be a little more free, then this place can help.

Brave New Books might be my favorite place to visit in Austin. The customers are quirky and intelligent which makes for the most interesting conversations. Everyone seems to have their own pet topic that they’ve mastered their research around and I learn something new everytime I walk in the door! I attend Voluntary Yogo on Sundays with a girl named Britty and usually find myself chatting with other customers for hours before I make my way out of there! They usually have a pot of coffee brewing and you can mix in raw milk! Unreal! Did I mention free wifi and free movie viewings instore??? From speakers, to movie screenings, to art shows, to yoga, this place is ALWAYS happening. I hope to see you there sometime :) :) :)

This bookstore is one of the hidden treasures in Austin. Not only can you check out all kinds of unusual titles, health food, awesome coffee and Berkey water filters, there’s also a meeting room in back that has events from how to grow more food in your garden, to book signings and art shows!

My husband is very interested and involved in just about every subject you can find at Brave New Books and I have gone with him a few times here. Im very proud to support this store and its ideas. I dont believe everything that in the books they sell, but I love the idea there is a store in town that not only provides the information to the public but also has lectures and speakers. My favorite thing about BNB is they now carry the entire Cal Ben Soap line of natural cleaners. Our family decided this year to eliminate as many chemicals and pesticides we could from our life and the Cal Ben cleaners have been our saving grace! In just a few months both my husband and I have had major health improvements including the end of chronic pain I have suffered from for over 5 years. Now, Im med free and eating from our local farmers markets and cleaning with chemical free products! The great thing about BNB is you can skip the shipping costs for the soaps and buy directly from them. I feel good supporting companies I believe in like Cal Ben and Brave New Books. Our country would be a better place if we had one in every neighborhood! Down with corporate evil, lying cheating politicians and distracting celebrities! UPWITHTHEPEOPLE!

Brave New Books is an interesting concept in bookstores, providing a lot of interesting titles on political issues of the day, much of which lean freedom of thought and libertarian. I like their name and branding, but am looking forward to the day when they decide to grow and incorporate things like a café in order to compete with other bookstores, and expand their sphere of influence. Being in a small basement retail space probably isn’t conducive to thinking of them as a growing brand. Hope that changes soon.

I accidentally stumble to this place while I was just walking down Guadalupe to MLK. At first I thought it was a mini movie theatre. This is not an ordinary book store! This place is about defending your freedom and a lot of FREE info. Many of the stuff I thought was shocking and yet interesting. It kept me in there for 2 hours just browsing. I found out how to save money legally from the IRS forever from a pamphlet here that was sitting in the front table before the entrance. It was information that the IRS didn’t want you knowing because for the past few decades they have been happy with you surrendering your hard earn money to them so that Uncle Sam has a better thing to do with it. Friendly staff that was not pushy in imposing certain information. They even allowed me to listen and browse through their CDs or DVDs. I just want to commend the owners for being a true patriot of America for even having the guts to open a place like this. I eventually walked out donating a few coins to their donation jar. It is a place that every person should at least visit once to be properly informed. Get to know your Bill of Rights, the Constitution of the United States, and the 27th Amendments!

Yep, I’m a regular. The variety of material is awesome. But half the fun is talking to people and listening to others. I first started going there when the Ron Paul campaigning was going strong here in Austin. It was a blast, a place where like minded people could relate. The guys working there are very, very nice. One really cool thing, is the guys gave me free DVD’s of Aaron Russo’s «Freedom to Fascism» I got to pass out a bunch at the Travis Co. GOP Convention, at the GOP state convention in Houston Also we put some into the fireman’s boots at the street lights..(Thanks Harlen!) My friends and I go every Friday night for underground bible study. Dwayne is our teacher, and he is awesome. He knows how to rightly divide the word of truth of the gospel of Christ. New people show up every week. We use the KJV and really encourage others to so as well. It is the pure, inspired, AND preserved word of God. Thanks again to the guys that work there. They have just recently set up the meeting room to go live on-line. So when they have guest speakers, like Tex Marrs, Alex Jones, Dr. Griffin, ect, now you will be able to go on line and watch the speakers. Go by and see for yourself how very interesting of a place it is.

This place is IT! I love Brave New Books. From the movie showings, the lectures, the books/dvds/t-shirts/bumper stickers ~ I mean, they have all the coolest and most informative selections you might ever hope to find. The reviewer who said, «…the feint of heart best stay outside and continue drinking the tap water…» was correct! I love all the staff… sweet guys! I love that I can get my Berkey Water Filters here… or my Cocomojo…:D Yeah…check this place out… you might never be the same!

The décor? Bomb shelter chique. The reading material? The encroaching Illuminati, New World Order, and Zionist overlords. Look, any place that has a ‘Jack Blood Recommended Section’ has got to be seen at some point. Much of the material is self published, because after all, our [ahem] corporate overlords don’t want this dangerous material out there. BNB also has a conference /screening room where I’m told they have film showings. Hey, it never hurts to have an open mind and you never know, you might finally learn the truth about the other dimensional lizard people who killed Princess DIana, bombed the World Trade Center and took down Pan Am Flight 183.
