AMAZINGPRICESANDSELECTION! Adore this place and all the people who work there. A rare find in Austin where vintage and thrift shops are overrun with over priced items.

Very nice employees and the store is well-kept & neat. The dressing room has a neat barn style sliding door and then there’s a huge mirror in the back that the fam & I kept taking selfies in. The clothes are varied: I saw letterman jackets, biker jackets, tees, dresses, etc. It’s not a huge place so don’t go in expecting Goodwill or anything but the finds are nice and not overpriced. The guy who helped us was very friendly and definitely probed to see if my kiddos were students so they could get a discount. :) Also, parking is available at the Domino’s next door. There are at least a couple of spaces that have a sign identified as theirs.

I had been wanting to visit this store for a long time after hearing great things. It was a little hard to find(I had to circle a few times), but I appreciated a spot out front especially considering how annoying parking is in this area. The selection of clothes was so-so. But the music really deterred me from shopping longer. Not to sound like a prude, but the volume was way too loud. And the songs of choice yelled the«n-word» every other sentence. It was just overall an uncomfortable experience. I added a third star to my rating because the prices are fair and that’s hard to come by nowadays. As I walked out, I thanked the girl at the front even though she never greeted me or spoke to me the whole time. Awkwarrrrrrd.

This is one of my favorite vintage & thrift shops and I frequent it about once or twice a month! Rodrigo(the owner) is very kind and helpful, and has done a wonderful job of making the shop cozy and comfortable to shop in. They have great selections of everything — my favorite things to browse and purchase there are the skirts. They also have a comfortable spread of button ups, vintage tees, and windbreakers/jackets. In shoes, they’ve got everything from sandals to boots and everything is chosen in great taste. Definitely come take a look at and support Monkies if given the chance!

This store is so well designed and crafted. The décor is creative and fun, simple but unique. With a car for a checkout desk… that they built themselves, how could you not be impressed! The clothes are very well picked. Most items are casual but what I admired about this store is that it is not one of those vintage stores that just packs everything and anything onto the racks. Those stores overwhelmingly chaotic, not Monkies. There is the perfect amount of carefully selected items for sale in the store. Great inventory. Great prices. Great décor. Friendly staff. It’s a no brainer, this place is perfect for the casual vintage shopper.

It wasn’t as big as I expected, but the selection of thrift western wear was pretty nice.

Rodrigo is the best! If you are looking for good quality true vintage items at a great price definitely put Monkies on your list. Friendly owner with great taste and very nice store front. I am definitely going to be a regular now that I found this place.

Found some really nice knits, and 35% off! Kinda hidden from the street so keep your eyes peeled. Some newer simple Thrift items kinda higher priced than would be expected.

Really enjoyed my experience in store and am loving boots I purchased. The owner was super friendly but not overbearing. Small store but good selection, especially of men’s clothes, which is somewhat rare in my experience. Also, the size of the store made it a very reasonable proposition to explore the whole selection. Make sure you check out their happy hours, which I believe are on select Friday’s from 4p til about 8p. 25% off plus drinks, what more can you ask for?

Awesome little vintage shop. Many great finds in the way of denim jackets, leather jackets, vintage western shirts and old graphic tees. Much better quality/quantity when compared to neighboring stores like Buffalo Exchange.

I got $ 20 in my pocket… This place has some really cool stuff in it. Lotsef cool vintage rock tees, cowboy boots, etc. Everything you need for a good night at the hipster bars. I would recommend stopping by an d at least checking them out.

I love this place! Usually I don’t go to vintage shops because they’re out of my price range, but this place has a wide variety of prices(around $ 6-$ 100, and everything in the ‘bargain bin’ is $ 2) and styles. I immediately fell in love with a $ 13 cat sweater(kitsch and cute, not ironic-ugly) and a $ 12 pleather skirt. There are also some upscale pieces from the 50s that are really reasonably priced for their quality. Think Buffalo Exchange, but smaller, more affordable, and with a bigger percentage of the store devoted to men’s wear.
