Came here with some guy friends to watch the UT vs Iowa game. I’d obviously never been, but apparently Double Dave’s is a childhood haunt for one of my buddies. The atmosphere is cool. It’s sports bar type, but with cool local flair and major Longhorns regalia. We got there about 30 minutes before the game and it was pretty empty. By about 6:05, though, it was full and lots of fun. Bazillions of TV’s to watch all your favorite games simultaneously(two schmucks in the corner were watching baseball, blegh). The food is okay. I ate it. We got spicy and mild wings, which you could not tell the difference between. They’re dry-rubbed, so no sauce. We had to go get our own dipping condiments, plates, napkins, etc. The pizzas are HUGE, but I’d still put Mr. Gatti’s over them in terms of flavor. Like I said, I ate the darn thing without any real complaint, but I wouldn’t go back for the food. Pepperoni rolls are 75% bread with a little cheese and pepperoni in the middle. On a good note, they have Shiner pitchers for $ 10. We had several. It didn’t make the food taste much better, though.

Cheap pizza-esk goodness! This is def. only a review for their«Tuesday/Thursday» half off days. Before this year I never had class near here on T/Th so this all is quite new to me. 4 pizza rolls, a coke, $ 4. OMNOMNOM!!! It’s not that its a high quality product: dough+cheese+pepperonis. Its just a decently priced meal on-campus, right next to UTC/McCombs, and I only have class T/TH. Divine intervention for sure.

Right in front of the PCL, this place is great if you don’t have that much time but want to get some decent food to go. I only come here on «Double Tuesdays» where it is buy one, get one free pizza roll day. 2 pizza rolls for $ 1.50! And you get to fill up on as much marinara or ranch sauce as you want. The pizza rolls are pretty good depending on your mood and how well they make them, which is very inconsistent. Sometimes it’s all dough, sometimes they’re tiny, but sometimes they’re huge and full of meat and baked perfectly. If they give me one I don’t like, I just ask them for a different one and they’re usually happy to oblige. Long lines on Tuesdays, get there early after class ends or expect to wait! Good deals, should check it out if you are on the 21st side of campus.
