You broke my heart Goat, you tease. I shed a little tear every time I pass your still empty spot in the trailer park. 78741 will never be the same.

Yay! Finally got to try Giggling Goat even though I live right next to it… um dont come looking for me stalkers. Anyway, I tried the soft shell crab sandwich and the lamb burger. The soft shell crab sandwich had a remoulade sauce and a nice fresh cole slaw on top. They were generous with the crab and it was perfectly cooked. Loved it. The lamb burger was insanely juicy and delicious although I can’t remember what kind of sauce there was on it :( The japanese sweet potato fries were… interesting. I mean they’re tasty but you can’t eat a lot of them because they are incredibly starchy and even sweeter than regular sweet potatoes. I enjoyed the unique flavor, but again I can’t eat a lot of them. Thats all for now but I can’t wait to come back and try some of their other delicious looking menu items.

I have tried to write this review about 10 times now because each time I reflect back on Giggling Goat, basically I turn into Homer Simpson thinking about donuts — my eyes glaze over, my tongue hangs out, and I end up having to wipe drool off my chin. The goat cheese salad is definitely something I will be attempting to recreate at home. You crack into these amazing orbs of crispy outside/creamy goaty inside, take a piece and combine with greens and a tart berry, oh boy. The ribeye burger was perfectly charred and juicy and seasoned incredibly and every element just combined together and I’m pretty sure I had to remind myself to keep breathing while eating. It was so good that something as trivial as breathing was secondary. I thought the lamb burger could benefit from a little less tapenade, but honestly, that’s pretty akin to me saying I think the Mona Lisa should be a little more smiley; it’s still a masterpiece. Once I make millions, I will move into the Amli and my full time job will be waddling my future 500 pound self back and forth to Giggling Goat. Wave hi when you see me.

So glad there was a line at hopdoddy… or we wouldn’t have made it here last night. The steak burger(can’t remember what it was called) was great. By far the greatest gourmet burger I have ever had. Meat was well seasoned and juicy. Bun was sophisticated. There were no missed details. Each aspect had been given proper attention. What was on my burger — you know… I have no idea! The rabbit egg rolls were perfect and so was the sauce. Great little eating area too. Can’t wait to return with beers in cooler.

I had to go back to the Giggling Goat. We had to go back — — if not for the Lamb Burger, the Cabrito please! This time my friends tagged along, one got the Pork Sausage, one got the Lamb Burger, and I finally got my Cabrito. I’ve had goat before, in tacos, it has a distinct taste. This goat was milder, very tasty, well seasoned, juicy, and loved the french bread it came on — — cooked to perfection. Kayla was running the counter on this night, excellent customer service, she even brought our food out to us with napkins and all the Heinz ketchup we wanted! Awesum! And now they have picnic tables! More seating outside, awesome lamb, damn good cabrito burger, and plenty of Heinz ketchup(my fave), and Kayla’s service w/a smile. Seriously — — what more could a guy ask for?

HOLYGOATAMOLY! this place rocks. What a great idea! Lets start with the goat. It has been awhile since I have had goat and now, I want more. The meat has SO much flavor to it. The texture is amazing. I went with a goat burger and told them to load it up, great idea as I found out they make ALL their condiments from scratch. Did someone say something about a soft shell crab sandwich. Delicious, tangy and bursting with flavor. Throw in a side of zucchini prepared with truffle oil and you will be in a gastronomic coma. Great service, Great food! Come here when you get tire of tacos, if that ever happens.

Went back for the Cordero(Lamb) burgers tonight. So delicate in flavor compared to the Cabrito, which is very bold. Really loved the wine sauce, cheese and caramelized onion on the juiciest lamb burger I’ve ever had. 5 stars for a damn tasty feast.

I was expecting to like this place, and was pleasantly surprised by how much I did. I had the shrimp with grits and the zucchini fries. I also had the pleasure of chatting with Chad, the owner, for a bit — he seems like a great guy, and I’m happy to say I’ll be supporting his business as much as I can in the future. Go check it out!

Oh my gosh, so tasty! I had the lamb burger and my wife had the chimi changa. Both off the chain. A great trailer off of east riverside! The owner is super friendly. Coming back for sure.

Outstanding. No, really — comparable to the best trailer food in Austin — I’d put it in The Odd Duck’s class, and that’s sayin’ something. Started with the fried Brie salad — a very good lightly fried brie with greens, fresh berries, nuts, grilled bread and a really really really good dressing that we almost took home to figure out what was in it but decided that would be sneaky. Next came the piece de resistance — the Lamb Burger. Holy Crap it was good. The chef/owner explained he buys a whole lamb and processes it himself — does NOT buy ground lamb but grinds it himself and mixes it with brisket fat for flavor/moisture, mixes in fennel spikes and his own blend of herbs/spices. Juicy, tasty, delicious, and several other positive adjectives I can’t think of right now. The burger was served on a fresh sweet bread roll and a side of Japanese potatoe(spelled especially for Texas Dan Quayle fans — both of you) fries. Hint: This burger pairs well with a medium-bodied red wine — bring your own. Also, the portion sizes are just right — we spilt one salad and one burger but were very satisfied with the portion sizes. Good value here. The only down note — the seating was bad. Apparently several of their art deco metal chairs and tables had been heisted lately, and they were all chained together by another trailer owner(who was absent this night and thus could not be unlocked) SO we sat in a circle of locked chairs. We were told this will be addressed, that a dining/seating upgrade is on the way. Don’t let this dissuade you — VERY much worth the trip. We were also told that a four-legged mascot will be on site soon with a giggling ability to be determined. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu. Just Go…

The Giggling Goat, located by the Amli building on E. Riverside, is a recent addition to the Austin gourmet food truck scene. Like many food trucks, it sets itself apart by creating unique signature dishes and doing them well. At the Giggling Goat, these dishes are the cabrito and pork burgers. Both are a distinct change from the all-American beef based burger and well worth the detour. The cabrito burger was sweet, moist and topped with sunflower sprouts. The pork burger was surprisingly delicate and paired with Granny Smith apple slices and feta compote. Both dishes were served with Japanese potato fries, which had the taste and texture of a sweet potato/plantain hybrid. If you can’t stomach burgers, they do have several other entrees, appetizers and salads on their menu. The menu is predominantly meat-centric coupled with a few vegetarian dishes, and as a whole the food is moderately priced with all entrees under $ 10. If you are like me, a proprietor with a colorful history always adds to the dining experience. Owner Chad Nunez started his career as a dishwasher, but eventually opened and operated restaurants in the Caribbean. When he needed a new challenge, he started an organic goat farm where he raised his livestock for meat and cheese. His interest in goats stemmed from what he humorously calls his«lactose intolerableness». The Giggling Goat has embraced new technology, allowing patrons to submit an order with the ease of sending a text message. For those less-techie, you can still call in your order or walk up to the window — but the texting option is great perk. The service was prompt, the trailer was clean and inviting, and my only real complaint was their lack of seating. On the night I went, there was only one table and no more than six chairs. I wasn’t sure if this was the proprietor’s way of encouraging his patrons to take their food home, or if the trailer was so new that they had not had time to invest in more seating. The combination of excellent burgers, solid service and reasonable price is enough to ensure my continued patronage and I would encourage others to try the Giggling Goat, even if it’s out of their way. The trailer is parked next to the Amli building on E. Riverside and it is open Tuesday through Friday from 12pm-10pm and Saturday 4pm-10pm. It’s official… I’m a Giggling Goat fan! I’m always looking for new places to eat that are on the Eastside and the Giggling Goat is just East of I-35 on Riverside, nestled into a lot by the AMLI South. Cute lights and colorful chairs were the signpost. After reading the handful of previous Unilocal reviews, we was prepared to order a few items thinking the portions were tapas sized. Chef Eric filled us in… the dishes are entrée sized portions with sides! To start we ordered the potato and Capicola Italian ham Croquettes. It was the perfect starter and went nicely with the bottle of red that we had brought with us. Next up, the Lamb Chops, which came atop risotto with garlic green beans. Delicious! At $ 8.75 it was a deal for fresh American fare. My dinner date had the Chicken Chimichanga which was chock full of corn, hominy, and peppers. Delightfully seasoned with a kick! Plus, the goat cheese sauce was yummy! Kudos to Chef Chad who’s only been open for 6 weeks. Can’t wait to go back and try the other dishes.

Wow. Freaking amazing stuff. I had the brined pork loin: juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Its sweet apricot chutney added a bold dimension to the pork, and the cabbage with the mustard sauce was simple but fantastic. The polenta could have been better in my opinion though, but who cares when everything else is so good? Then there’s the lamb burger. The spices were great – it uplifted the moist ground lamb into something very remarkable. I only a bite from my friend’s, but man, it made me want to get one!(And I would have, except I still had a ton of food to finish). The soft-shelled crab sandwich was merely OK. But who gets seafood at an Austin trailer park? Just go for the pork and lamb, and you’ll be fine! And I also ordered a side of croquettes, which came out hot, crispy on the outside, and oh-so-soft on the side – everything croquettes should be. Giggling Goat reminds me of Odd Duck. Odd Duck has great food and atmosphere(where else can you find people bringing wine to a food trailer?!), but Giggling Goat gets more bang for the bucks. I usually take pictures food. But today I realized that I had zero pictures of the food here – I was too busy eating! Follow my nose. Go here. Eat and be merry.

The menu at this trailer was a refreshing read! I got the goat burger, which came with white sweet potato fries that were sprinkled with truffle oil, the burger was nice and thick, medium rare, and not too goaty tasting with a perfect spice blend in the meat and was topped with tomatoes, onions, cheese, and sunflower sprouts. I had a little chat with the owner, Chad, and his wife who are both super friendly. Chad is clearly an inspired chef and puts his heart into making food. At $ 7.25 this is a decent deal for such quality. I also liked that the food came in recycled to go containers. I loved it, and will definitely return, with friends!

I think the name’s cute. Especially when I saw the branding on the trailer… thought it more adorable. Giggly Goat. Aww. So I had to order something from the namesake and got a Cabrito Burger with Sweet Potato Fries. It’s lean/healthy but really delicious with this great char. The sweet potatoes were asian/carribean sweet potatoes(white, starchy, sweet.) My boyfriend got cilantro-pesto grilled shrimp on top of grilled corn/black bean salad. On closer inspection, the salad had cubed ham, crab meat, crumbled feta. Ohmigod. So good, it actually reminded me of a meal I had in the Caribbean. I ended up licking the container. This was one of the rare times that my boyfriend succeeded in out-ordering me. Hmph. What you should know: — Only Accepts Cash — Bring Beer — Menu Changes Daily — Have Dessert next door at Lil’ Mama’s(awesome sour cream pound cake like my mom’s. mmm.) Another rockin trailer pushing out high quality dishes that could easily have come from a brick/mortar. I will eagerly be back to explore the rest of the menu.

I live at the AMLI South Shore and finally decided to try out this trailer eatery. I ordered the lamb with rissotto, which was great. The meat was medium rare and the sauce was tasty(a bit heavy though). The price was right at $ 8.50 and I was satisfied with the amount of food. It sounds like the owner has some creative ideas to make would-be boring food, a lot more interesting. I’ll be back for sure. Afterall, I live about 100ft from the place!

I had the the Grilled Lamb with pumpkin spiced risotto and it was delicious. A nice combination of eclectic spices and food with a bit of a twist. I also recommend the soft shell crab sandwich. Love that it is only a few short steps outside of my apartment

This place was only open 4 days. I was literally running by it on my East side Town lake runs. Then, one day I see someone walking in and out of it and setting up lights. There’s a menu! I was lucky to meet the owner Chad. We chatted a little while, and then I continued my run. Parking is a little tight since you share with the AMLI apts. For now, their hrs are T-TH — 4pm-9pm and F-Sat 4pm-10pm. He said he was considering lunch as well noon til 9/10pm. So I already had a light dinner, but I decided to come back by around 8pm I got the soft shell crab with eggplant fries as well as the the daily croquets. *I took it to go and ate it 5 minutes later at a friend’s house so the taste could be different if you ate it immediately. Soft shell crab was decent. I was what I expected. I like the slaw. My friend found it was a little salty. It wasn’t as crispy/crunchy as I expected. All in all, it was ok, The eggplant fries were basically a variation of fried zucchini sticks. Think eggplant cut into sticks with a panko topping. For 7.50, I might try something else The daily croquet was basically like a fried potato pancake, but with panko, nice white sauce over it a LOT of bacon bits. Tasty, but kind of salty. I will prob try it again sometime. They got lamb chops on a pumpkin risotto($ 8.50) on their menu as well as a cabrito burger with sweet potato fries($ 7). It was only their 1st week, but I’ll give it a try after they figure out a few things. They have a spinach salad with shaved fennel and a poached egg, BUT in their 4 days of being open, they’ve only sold one, so Chad said they’d probably take it off and try something else. *Cash only for now

This food truck just opened at the new AMLI South Shore food trailer park. Really nice guys running the service. I have tried a couple of items on their inspired and evolving menu that is bistro/tapas style. Very gourmet I would say for a food truck. You are probably going to want to try the crawfish in a light cream sauce over a squash cake and fritto leeks. Very well balanced and well seasoned — irresistible. Also the soft-shell crab sandwich is money. Served on a toasted mini brioche bun and fried to perfection. Not too heavy, not soggy, and still filled with flavor. That item is served with two wedges of panko fried eggplant that is not lifeless and quite good. Yum.
