Oh My goodness!!! The tortilla soup is the BEST!!! Very plentiful … the bowl is bike helmet size! Very FULL of the GOODSTUFF!!!

Great value. In a city with fantastic food — especially Mexican food — this place can compete. Had three breakfast tacos and my buddy had the Migas plate. Just really, really good. What made it even better was that the three tacos and coffee was only 10 $! Plus chips and salsa at start. But the best part was the service. Pretty sure our server was the only one working and the place was almost full. But she was so fast! And always smiling and cared about delivering quality. She wanted us to have a great experience. And we did. We will be back.

Went here to grab a quick taco and it was by far the worst taco I have had in austin. You could tell that the meat was cheap and low quality. And the so called fajita taco had no peppers on it. Since when does fajita anything not include bell peppers. The food was terrible not to mention the service. The lady at the counter acted like I was bothering her when I placed my order. Needless to say I will never return to this place. Much better food at any other taco place in Austin.

It’s so-so. The ambiance is lacking, but the food is plentiful and cheap. If I was a student(UT), I’d definitely keep it in the«hungover brunch» rotation. It does seem like it may be better suited to takeout, but I had a decent time on the patio(pending the amount of MLK traffic whizzing by) last time I was there. Overall, it’s good if you’re close and you want cheap breakfast tacos. It’s not somewhere to necessarily make a trip for.

Came here for breakfast and ordered a veggie omelet which was huge! I could only eat half. It also came with toast, a hash brown, and of course homemade salsa. Great service from the woman who works the cash register as well as the tables. Clean place, very fair prices, and great food. Has their own parking as well which I great for the location. Leaving with a happy stomach! Will definitely return. Thanks!

If it wasn’t for the wrong orders, I would rate them higher. But it’s really a drag when you order a breakfast burrito and they forget the egg(really?) and give you what you explicitly ask for them to leave off instead. Usually I’m on the go and can’t afford to take it back while I wait another 10 minutes for a new order. Their breakfast burritos used to be huge and they seem to have shrunk which is a shame. It seems a bit pricey for something that costs over $ 4. The food isn’t bad, but wrong orders get annoying after awhile.

Really delicious breakfast tacos. Too bad I found this place the last day of my trip to Austin. I’ll be back next year for formula one as well. Hole in the wall, hidden gem.

This is my go to when I’m sick. They have really good chicken soup. I haven’t really tried anything else there but I recommend the soup. The lady in the front is really nice and overall I think it’s a family business. I’ve had a couple of mishaps with them but I still recommend trying it at least once.

Food is really good, 3 – 4 stars. But service was laughable and food took a long time. Not unfriendly, just totally inept. Like first they tried to bring me someone else’s drinks, then someone else’s entrée, and they never brought me chips and salsa until I asked after about 30 mins of waiting. It’s a shame the service was so terrible, I enjoyed my verdes enchiladas, rice, and beans, they were very tasty. And the salsa has a kick, but I wish it was thicker. Not sure if I’ll come back, maybe if I have leisure time on my hands.

I really do think these are good breakfast tacos, especially for 99 cents. can’t beat the price and location since I live and work downtown near West Campus. However, they are severely under staffed which makes the waiters and waitresses appear to be upset and unfriendly, but they clearly are doing too much at once. I have never gotten my order wrong and everything is priced very reasonably. I have been here four times for breakfast and once for lunch, the only complaint was from my dad who did not like his barbacoa taco, he said it tasted old. I got the quesadillas appetizer and it was so good and filling for like six dollars.

Cute little(ish) hole in the wall with an adorable butterfly logo– can’t go wrong with that! There are not too many good food options near campus in the summertime. I live around there so discovering this place makes me pretty happy. The prices are right. The portions are perfect– not too big, not too small. The service could use a little help but honestly, this place gets a little more crowded then they are prepared for, that’s all. The staff is friendly and everything is made to order, so don’t be surprised if you have to wait an extra 5 mins for fresh tortillas. They have tacos, Mexican breakfasts plates, Texas breakfast plates, omelettes, pancakes, burritos, salads, quesadillas and more. Lots of choices here needless to say. I had the Huevos Nopalitos breakfast and I was very pleased without the amount of cactus I was given. At some places, you’ll get a bunch of eggs with just a little cactus, onion, peppers and whatever else they throw in there. No way, not here! It was an equal mixture of everything and it was just lovely. I even had enough left for another meal later and it only costs me about $ 6. Next time I’m on the run, I’ll be back to pick up some quick tacos. Apparently they are super good… and easy!

I love the prices and the flavor. Usually that would be enough for me to overcome service in any place. However, they’ve messed up 9 out of 12 orders we’ve placed here(we started counting after the 3rd or so). I always order the same thing: potato and egg(good and cheap!) and migas tacos. Warning to those who like migas: cheese is extra and you must specify. Secondly, I always order it with avocado. I get charged each time and only once has there been avocado on it. The most common messups are not getting the kind of tacos we ordered and getting charged for ingredients that never arrive on our tacos. Lastly, I ordered my same two tacos today, and they provided me one taco, and then three corn tortillas wrapped in foil. Is this some sort of trick? I’ve given them as many chances as I can and I won’t order from here anymore. In all fairness, I do find them to be delicious, though… which is a real shame.

Went here for lunch, ordered the Torta Cubana. Asked the lady at the register how long it’d take to make, when placing my order. Was told«10 minutes». It took almost 40 minutes for them to make it, and the resulting mess I was given was horrible. All the meat was clustered in a tiny part of the huge bun, hot peppers in another, it’s like they partitioned off the bun. Absolutely horrible, I was unable to finish it.

If you go for the 99 cent tacos make sure they are on the list… Otherwise the price more than doubles

Service is slow. I wait for a very long time to get breakfast tacos in the morning. Usually understaffed. One server has to handle the cash, serving and to-go orders. Slow service, but I really enjoy the breakfast tacos and the location.

I’m bumping this place up to 4 stars. Prices are so reasonable, food is pretty good, and service is friendly. They seem a bit understaffed at busy times. Otherwise, always a good experience. Update April 2014: Still 4 stars, but I have shown up some mornings/middays to the restaurant being closed. Two of these were mornings with somewhat inclement winter weather, so I’ll cut them a break on that; but one day the place was just inexplicably not open. Might be worth giving them a call if you’re trekking in from far away.

It’s pretty cheap. The food comes out pretty quickly. Even though they might get your order wrong. A couple of times. And service is a little brisk. Did I mention it’s pretty cheap? So, if you’re hungry, happen to be near UT, and want a cheapish meal, this isn’t a terrible place to eat. I just wouldn’t go out of my way to come here. It’s like a less good Taqueria Arandas.

I came in on a Monday night and no one else was being served at the time… that said, my waitress was great and my food came fast, was exactly what I ordered, tasted amazing and was presented beautifully. Plus it’s cheap… I ordered a pan-fried tilapia taco and a shrimp taco, got free chips and salsa, and paid $ 7.12 total. Really happy I found this place!

A-OK is the perfect way to rate this place(thanks for offering that Unilocal!). Their breakfast tacos and plates are made fresh and taste good. Yes, there might be a little bit more grease than I like, but damn, that’s refried beans for ya. I think they need to invest in some better tortillas or make them in-house. They also serve their potatoes in halfmoons, which I find a little cumbersome to eat — small pieces please! On the good side, the salsas(green and red) are fresh and spicy! I’ve never seen this place packed though — which I find odd since the prices are reasonable and there are tons of UT kids around. Janitzio and Taco Cabana are both within walking distance of my work, but when I want breakfast tacos, I’ll come here instead of TC.

The whole reason I joined Unilocal was because I googled this place and saw bad reviews on Unilocal. So I had to join and write a good one because this is my spot. I guess I come here so often that maybe I get good service because they recognize me, can guess what I want to drink and are always right. Ha! I’ll have a jamaica por favor! Or Coca Mexicana! Its funny because the people who I’ve turned on this place now go here more than me, and I get a lil pissed when they don’t invite me! To be honest nopales(cactus) and eggs didn’t sound appetizing, but once I tried it, well its quite a unique flavor. Breakfast is super cheap and super good and you can get it anytime of the day which I love. 2 migas tacos= $ 4! For lunch they always have a special which is good and cheap at $ 5.99 you can’t beat that. Somedays it can get really busy, others like day it was pretty dead and our food was out to us incredibly quick. The people who work there are very friendly and attentive. If you’re starving I’d say go with the El Toro Burrito, its topped with chile con queso and it never disappoints. This is the only place I know where you can get a fajita plate for only $ 8.99 I’m still waiting for that liquor license to come through… then this place will be perrrrfecto!
