Went here on June 20. Ordered a burrito. It’s the airport, so I don’t it to be perfect, but ew. As I was paying I noticed that there were bugs crawling underneath the cash register. I was super grossed out and just tossed the burrito in the trash.

This place make Taco Bell seem like gourmet. The nachos were inedible — start with Tostitos style chips, fake watery cheese. Ugh. The tacos weren’t much better. I normally don’t expect much from airport food, but Austin deserves a better Tex Mex place.

2 tacos and a side of chips with queso is about $ 8 +tax. Not bad considering it’s filling and you’re in an airport where a bag of chips costs $ 3.24 at the newsstand nearby. I got one chicken, one beef– the beef is better and has more meat. As always, good queso. Just a tip, eat the chips and queso first. Once the queso cools, it isn’t as liquid-y as you want it. The cashiers are also great. Always friendly and smiling, fun to chat with. Easily one of my favorite places to eat when I’m in ABIA.

Fellow airline employees and I have been made very sick from eating breakfast tacos at the Austin airport location. Delaware North employees manage that location. Same as Schlotsky’s. We experienced multiple days of diarrhea.

First time I’ve stopped in and it was not what I expected… although moderately priced for an airport. The only thing decent was the guacamole, the chicken was bland and I was not offered salsa or hot sauce… I didn’t really I didn’t have it until I was to far away. The wait time was not conducive to travelers

Though the Customer service with the cashier was great. He was friendly and interactive but I ordered Nachos with ground beef and they gave me a tray of chips with beans, guacamole, and beans. There was no beef at all. I had to catch my flight so I couldn’t check my food until I got on the plane. I will never eat at Maudie’s Tex Mex again. If I wanted chips only, I would have gotten a bag at the snack stand.

Love Maudie’s at their other locations and eat there regularly. The airport location is not providing the quality or service we are used to. Tacos and chips have been stale the last several times and they don’t offer any of the dishes that make Maudie’s great. Close this store and go back to what you do best.

In my travels to Austin, I’d actually been here a few times, so I’m not sure why this place gets a bastion of low ratings — cuz quite honestly, this really suits my needs as I wind my way through the airport! I’m a mex food /taco whore and I usually try to find some different tacqueria to try on my trips out to Austin, though I didn’t find a good one this time round. I wasn’t even expecting much when I ordered — Pete’s Tantalizing Breakfast Taco — «A combo of sausage, egg, cheese, potatoes, serrano peppers, and onions in a small flour tortilla.»(ordered this w/no sausage, xtra cheese!) They made it fresh on-the-spot; I really appreciated the fresh serrano peppers grilled with the eggs and potato’s; and I actually wolfed this thing down. It was super good!

Got the standard chicken taco to go from Maudies… This is supposed to be a great place to represent Austin cuisine, but what a disappointment Two chicken tacos, and a side of guacamole The chicken was so bland, even with the renowned salsa, it was terrible. I usually go to this place for breakfast tacos, in the morning, and they usually are good tacos, bit non breakfast foods, I am very disappointed. I will be avoiding this location in the got it, except for break. I understand they this is airport food but it is such to be decent food…

Service was pretty quick but the taco salad was not that good! The lettuce was too wet and mushy! The chicken tastes a little too salty to me. Hmm I may try again but defiantly not that salad

I ordered one beef and one chicken taco, with guac. The chicken and beef were both on the bland side, but I loved that they came with so much fresh lettuce, tomato and diced jalapeño. The guac also tasted really fresh. Overall, everything was really fresh, and better than most other airport food. Flavor was just on the bland side, even with the addition of their hot sauce.

Not bad. Had the chicken soft tacos with guacamole on the side. Chicken is cooked well and juicy, but simple in flavor so be sure to grab a container of salsa by the register while you pay. Accompanying pico is spicy, and the guacamole was just OK.

Dear airport Maudie’s, I love spicy food, and I love migas. However, it is not necessary, nor appropriate, to burn my mouth off with overly spicy migas before I’m about to board a plane. Migas are not supposed to burn. Love, Kristin P. S. I’m sorry if you don’t like that I don’t eat meat. I’m also sorry that your airport location is so drastically different from your other locations. And I had such high hopes… Not only were the migas CRAZY hot and spicy(let’s be real, it was mostly jalapeños with a little bit of egg for good measure), but they didn’t have any queso(unless I misunderstood the very rude cook’s explanation). The queso at Maudie’s is the main reason I used to frequent their Lamar location when I used to live in Austin! To be fair, they asked me if I wanted some cheese on it, but migas are supposed to have cheese on them anyways! At least I had some Amy’s ice cream to cool my mouth off :)

Very likely the worst excuse for a taco salad I’ve ever had. The picture accompanying the review is what I got… the second time. The first time was the wrong order; greasy beef instead of chicken. It was supposed to also have guacamole, but after a fifteen minute wait, I was out of patience. The cashier was MUCHMORE interested in visiting with two airport employees than taking care of other customers. In fact, she GAVE my wrong order to them when I told her I wanted chicken. I would suggest that Maudie or Jack or Drake or whoever owns this place go ahead and close it down. What a waste of my time and money. By the way, this exquisite piece of gourmet garbage cost about $ 9.00!

I’m not a huge fan of Maudie’s in real life(which incidentally, my phone wants to autocorrect to «nausea»). It’s a good compromise for work lunches, offering a more suburban, sanitized version of Tex-Mex, with some Austin flares, like vegetarian offerings. The airport version is naturally stripped down, focusing on key offerings. I’ve only had the breakfast tacos so here’s the deal: $ 4.50 for two slightly smaller than normal/expected tacos. They are pre-made, grab and go. I got the egg, cheese, & bacon and egg, cheese, & sausage. Tortilla is terrible, which is good for me, cause I lean low-carb anyway. The eggs are really moist, bacon is sparse but okay, sausage, surprisingly good. Grab some salsa cause you’re gonna need it and a soda to wash it down. They open at 5am. It’s food. It’s okay. I’m annoyed cause I could have checked out Wok & Roll’s breakfast(they have pancakes and tacos!). Or Nuevo Leon. Or Hill’s Café even. I already know Salt Luck tacos are okay, but nearly twice as expensive and suffer from the same«wet egg syndrome» the tacos I just ate had. Airport Tacos, they are their own species for sure.

Not good for tex mex. Not much english or Spanish People that work there aren’t Spanish or English. Had to say my order 4 times. Chicken Tacos on soft corn tortillas. This must have been the first time she ever got this order. Then she typed it in. The lady in the kitchen came to the kitchen window and asked her «Corn?» The cashier replied«soft» So I was hoping it would be right. I got my tacos and the soft corn tortillas were grilled to the point of being super chewy, not crunchy not just a bit warm but over grilled chewy. I’m pretty sure Maudie wasn’t there to observe this. The guacamole was good. Next time I’ll try Quizno’s.

This review is for breakfast. It’s 10:30am and I’ve just missed the breakfast at the sports bar down the terminal… Thankfully Maudie’s Tex Mex is serving both lunch and breakfast. The meal is 2 breakfast tacos, any combination, and I ordered one bacon, egg, and cheese and one potato, egg and cheese. For being at the airport, this was a decent simple breakfast option… Reminds me of what Id make at home for my 5 year old: medium flour tortilla with scrambles eggs, probably 2 slices of bacon all chopped up, and salt & pepper to season. Actually these tacos are bigger than what id normally make… I probably should’ve ordered only one(especially since eggs aren’t something you’d want to take on the plane for later). Unfortunately I didn’t leave feeling satisfied… Probably more because of lack of nutrients more so than the food itself. If you know my history and stance on chips then you’d know I can’t rate any place high that has generic Costco-like bought tortilla chips… Well, that’s what I saw here. However I came for the breakfast, not lunch.

«What the hell happened?!» This was my thought upon opening the box and seeing what was supposedly my cheese enchilada dinner. It was a mangled, bubbling, mess with no distinguishable enchiladas. You can see it for yourself in the photo I uploaded. I ended up taking a few bites and then throwing the whole thing away. The beans were no good either. They were runny and bland. The rice was the only decent part. Airport food is never amazing and I get that, but it should at least not be mutilated when you serve it! Maybe enchiladas are too hard to serve fresh and fast. If that’s the case, they should just stick to more portable dishes. I feel so sad writing this review because I love the other Maudie’s locations, but something at the airport location has gone very, very wrong and it needs to be fixed. It’s unfortunate that visitors at the airport get this impression of Maudie’s because the other locations are awesome. I gave the second star because the lady working there was very nice.

I ordered a cheese enchilada dinner. I got chicken and of course I boarded by then. I picked around it and I had the rice and beans. It wasn’t good but I’ll give it an extra star because its airport food. Also, there are almost no vegetarian options. Let’s get with the program people.

Airport food and not at it’s finest. We had a delayed layover in Austin and my fella had a hankering for breakfast tacos. Having grown up in Texas, he was so excited to get some of his favorites while we waited. We didn’t expect much for airport food, but honestly this was just very bland and flavorless food. It needed some salsa, but even that was bland with very little spice to give it a kick. The service was slow as well. We waited about twenty minutes for our two tacos that we were sharing. If you’re in the area, try another spot in the airport.
