Well, after my mouth was watering for 3 days and building my wife up for what I hoped to be the best cheesesteak I ever had(except for Crossroads in Hellertown, PA), both of us experienced major disappointment after attempting to find Phatso’s at 1901 S Lamar OR1207 S 1st. We put dinner off for more than 45 minutes just driving back and forth, slowly, past both locations, convinced we were just totally blind. I’m sure people driving behind us were cussing a blue streak because of my driving so slowly on two very busy streets on a Friday night. It can’t be because I am unfamiliar with the area. Having been born and raised not 10 blocks from the S Lamar location and visiting friends almost daily on S1st, I know both like the back of my hand, not to mention, I patrolled this area for years as a cop. We pulled into every food trailer park on S1st, Lamar, Barton Springs Rd and Jessie St before giving up and landing at Peso & Bucks for the first time. Will somebody PLEASE tell us where Phatso’s is. The phone is not answered by a human so we couldn’t ask them. Maybe we will have another chance to give it a better review.

Cheesesteak Heaven… BOOM! Buttery buns, loaded with perfectly sizzled beef, bacon, smothered w/grilled onions and covered in cha-cha-cha-cheeeese! Damn son! Can’t wait to get me another dose of this place!
