This has to be one of my favorite trailers in Austin, I absolutely love it. The fact that it is behind one of my favorite bars in Austin definitely doesn’t hurt. I first tried Poutine at Bangers on Rainey St. and immediately fell in love. When I found out that there was a trailer opening where I could get this delicious Canadian masterpiece on the go, blew my mind. I haven’t had the pleasure of trying all the different concoctions that they have at this place, but it is definitely on my go-to list weekly. If you are a french fry fan and love gravy– this is the place for you. Fresh, Fast and absolutely delicious. I’m going to stop writing this now, because now I’m craving Potato.A.

Really great poutine here. I’ve had poutine all throughout Quebec City, Montréal and every little casse-croute in between and this place is right there at the top. Although the unique twists on poutine available here are pretty good, I recommend you go straight for the Canadian– crispy fries, rich gravy and squeaky cheese curds. Reminds me a bit of the poutine at Pat Retro. Highly recommended!

Seriously, the best poutine you’ll have outside of Canada; and in some instances it might be better. Potato. A has done it right with its fast, fresh, and friendly service. Even though it’s something as common as french fries they won’t let it be something that’s boring or bland. Compromising on flavor is not their style. I was so happy to find this little gem of a food truck, just tucked away, behind Corner Bar on South Lamar. I will definitely be back! Poutine isn’t the only form of fries that they have so if you aren’t into brown gravy and squeaky cheese curds on your fries(which I don’t understand why someone wouldn’t be) there are plenty of other options.

Aaron and his poutine are both très bons. And the prices are more than fair. I have had poutine in Montréal and Vancouver and his are just as close. I wish I could go to both of these cities more often, but since I cannot, I am glad to have Potato. A close to me. Poutine is the kind of thing best eaten when you are drunk. So being hidden behind the Corner Bar is appropriate. I have had them twice now totally sober and they are just as good. If you get the Italian style, the tomato mixture kinda cools down the hot fries too fast.(still tasty nonetheless) The original and the pork ones were both spot on.

First timer here. This place is great! I ordered the Glasser then I got the Italian a few moments later. I’m a fat ass :) Flavor was top notch. I’m normally not a big eater but this is the kind of place where the aroma keeps you lingering around for more. Golden!

FRENCHFREAKINFRIES, a food trailer specializing in those addicting, fried strips of potatoes. This trailer is tucked away behind Corner Bar on South Lamar & Mary St but is not something that should be missed. With some of the best poutine(fries, brown gravy & cheese curds) that I’ve had South of the Canadian border, I was pretty impressed by their small but tasty menu. There are twists to the basics like salt & pepper and garlic & Parmesan or exciting choices like the poutine or a BBQ pulled pork & queso offering. Unlike most food trailers that I feel take forever to prepare your food, the nice young guy at Potato. A had our order ready in about 10 minutes. I really appreciated the speedy prep! Whether I stop by Corner Bar for a drink & to snack on some fries or pick up an order to take home, I’ll definitely be back!

Poutine! In addition to the traditional Canadian version, they’ve got other creatives ones with queso, pulled pork, spicy powder. I asked Aaron if he could hook me up with the Canadian, but with the spicy powder mixed in. No problem, and no upcharge! I’ve had my share of poutine during travels in Quebec, and this was pretty damn good. The fries were cooked to order; cripsy and perfect. The gravy was fine; the cheese curds seemed very fresh and were soft — not chewy like on some versions I’ve had(I like it both ways). But this could have been the best poutine I’ve had thanks to the spicy powder — you can’t go wrong with cumin and cayenne. The only thing missing for me was some Sichuan powder(that would really make it killer), and a cold beer.

Hours for Tuesday were to start at 4:00 pm, we went at 4:10 and they were not open, no sign of opening soon, no note, nothing. We came back about 8:00 and still no sign of life. We were wanting to try poutine, no such luck. Potato A = FAIL

I have never had poutine before in my life and the thought of cheese curds had turned me off just by the name and pictures, but I gave it a chance. Turns out, cheese curds are amazingly delicious! I bought both the Canadian(gravy and cheese curds) and Southern(pulled pork, queso, and jalapenos) and I loved them both! Good job Potato. A!

I tried the Southern off the menu. Never in my life had I heard of pulled pork on top of french fries and drenched in queso. So that pulled my attention right away and boy was it the right choice! I found this place through the Trailer Friends meetup group and it was a great selection. I was thrown off by how well the pulled pork was! I will have to try the gravy next time since folks in the group raved about that as well. 2 forks up! Will be back soon.

Great food. The fries are fresh and not soggy. The gravy reminds me of what I got at the diner growing up. Dont forget the pepper and vinegar! Parking can be a bit of a pain but dont let that stop you from checking out this park, especially Potato.A. BYOB and make an evening out of it.
