This place is Awesome!!! I went on a whim and mostly to try out the beer they make. I’m Pilsner guy and make a really good one. I went solo so I sat a the bar and a blonde bartender, I think her name was Kristen, helped me out a ton. She was very knowledgeable about all the beer they had and was SPOTON with suggestions for new beers based on my preferences Which for me, is hard to navigate and choose in a place with that many beers on tap, So for that I will return for her service and send people that way. I was not there to really eat, but I did break down and get a pizza. It was great! One of the top pizzas in town and such great prices too compared to their competitors.

Love this place! Great beer options that they brew themselves as well as other guest taps paired with really tasty pizza. What else could one ask for?

Met some friends here for happy hour and am a fan! Had seen this place before but this was my first visit. We got there early(around 4:30 on a Fri) and while it was stating to get busy we were still able to order beers easy enough. Each of us got a flight of five beers. Since I wasn’t sure what I wanted I just told the bartender the types of beers I like and let him pick. Prices were reasonable for just over 11 $ for the flight. I didn’t order food but did eat some of my friends Cannonball pizza which was quite yummy. The place started really filling up by the time we left around six. The beer was good and the amount of draft choices they had was awesome! I will for sure go back again!

Pinthouse Pizza is a must stop any time I come to Austin. The food is delicious. I love getting the all meat pizza. For beers you can’t go wrong. The selection is nearly unbeatable in Austin. From on-site local brews to an expansive and curated beer list, You can pick pints or flights. Always a good idea to come here.

Outstanding pizza, brews and atmosphere. Usually wait a day to write a review and glad I did in this case too. Prices a little high for pizza, but you definitely get what you pay for at this place. Salad and pizza were outstanding. Looking forward to going back next time we’re in town!

Points for being south and easily accessible. I was surprised at how quickly the lines moved on a Saturday evening and the ability to order our food in the drink line was an added bonus. That said, the person helping me at the beer list was efficient and provided an excellent option when I explained my dislike for hoppy beers. The food: get the pretzel — amazing. Skip the queso dip for the pretzel– not amazing. I ordered a personal size green belt pizza. The ingredients were fresh and the toppings were loaded on. However. Hailing from the land of pizza, the taste was a bit underwhelming even after adding pepper flakes. Seating was a nightmare. Rather than enjoying company, we had to stalk out seats for 20 minutes. A couple next to us was unfortunate enough to get their food quickly and had to eat standing up :(

Always a wise choice! Restaurant set up is just as spacious and large as the original Burnet location. Long tables and benches for community seating, huge bar area, standing bar tables, etc. Favorite Pizzas: The Armadillo The Works Margherita The Green Belt House Nachos and El Queso are always great started for a group too! You really can’t go wrong with any of the items there. Check out their specials too, it’s usually something fun!

The pizza here is really good. Probably the best pizza I’ve had in Austin. The pepperoni and basil is so simple and sooo delicious(it heats up well for leftovers too). Their beer isn’t super my style, but they have lots of other beer on tap for alternative choices. The only reason why it isn’t a 5 star for me is just how crowded it always is! I am terrible about being aggressive for seats so I just end up standing awkwardly. It’s especially tough if you have a larger group. It’s usually worth the awkward standing, however. It’d be pretty sweet if I could order beer at the same time I order pizza too, but that’s a minor quibble.

For people places and things that I’m not sure about, I use the word«interesting» to describe. Six of my family and I went here for beer and dinner tonight at about 6:00. The place was packed, the lines for beer and pizza were both long but they moved very well. The beer was good,(I’m told because I don’t drink) and the pizza was excellent. And now comes the word«interesting». I will describe it as an upscale Chuck E Cheese. There were people parked at the tables obviously done eating and drinking, oblivious that there were tons of people trying to find a place to sit and eat. There were kids running around the place everywhere, climbing on the railing outside, running in and out of the doors from the patio, etc. We were glad we came, but I’m very doubtful all of us will be back. I know I won’t be. It was just too«interesting» for me!

This place is awesome! Open seating at large picnic tables and a relaxing atmosphere. The pizza is good and there are a lot of great choices as well as salads and desserts. The beer selection is awesome! I would say they have about 30 on tap, half of which are brewed in-house. They are all craft– no lousy Bud Light or anything like that. They even have ciders for those who aren’t beer fans and wine. This is definitely a place to visit with a group, and it is kid-friendly.

Pinthouse on S Lamar is my new happy place. It is quintessentially Austin hipster — craft beer, artisan pizza, hipster serving, biergarten style seating, and interesting twee décor! Dave Swinson behind the bar was a gem and gave us tastings of the popular Blunderbuss brew and suggested the Jib Cutter to suit my taste for fruity and heffeweizen preferences.(He also made it into one of my pictures!) Must try — any salad! They come in wedges, they’re zesty and light and wholesome. We got one non vegetarian option — the white elephant which also has pasta on it! And for vegetarian folks we got the green belt because we are partial to the softness and liteness and richness of ricotta cheese. We also got chicken nachos which came with a nice killer sauce! Definitely coming back for the hipster vibe, the millennial discussions(I overheard three conversations about the presidential race and conservation!) and the amazing service — all the servers were so nice and friendly!

I liked Pinthouse on Burnet. I eat gluten free because of an intolerance and they didn’t have gf pizza a while back. The salads were good and my friends enjoyed the pizza a ton, so I went a good bit. Then my world changed! They introduced gluten free crust(made by smart flour) and it’s delicious. It might be my favorite gf pizza in town, though I feel like I love them all equally because they are all pizza. It’s crispy! It’s great. They also have a lot of beer options for gluten free and brew«low gluten» beers. I’m so so excited they have opened across the street from where I live. The patio is really lovely and really does make you forget you’re on the side of Ben White and 360 and next to a Hobby Lobby. They did a fantastic job building this place out.

I’d heard ravings about the Electric Jellyfish IPA, so, since I was in the area, decided to stop by to see what all the hype was about! I’m not quite sure why I thought this place would be dead-ish on a rainy Friday evening, but I was dead wrong. Standing room only, really. Fortunately, there is ample room to stand with surfaces for your beer. The pizza and beer line was heavily manned, so there was never a wait and the employees were VERY friendly and helpful, though I was there on a mission. The Electric Jellyfish did not disappoint. I didn’t even think to take a picture of it to post on Instagram or one of the beer FB groups I’m in! Would I make the trek back down there just to have one? Probably not. But, most definitely if I’m in the area.

I would choose ABGB over Pinthouse any day, but would probably end up actually going to Pinthouse because there is plenty of parking, an actual place to sit down, and not such a downtown scene. The pizza is pretty fresh & good – the individual pizzas are huge – and they brew their own beer. The line for beer is separate from the line for food, which is great for people who are super hungry, or thirsty, as the case may be. They have lots of indoor seating in the old restaurant that used to be Chilis. And they have outside seating for people who want to bring their pooches and kids.

I almost didn’t come here today because I feared it would be more bar like, and less family friendly. However, I was quite surprised that most the people here had kids. A good relief. I like places where I can get a good brew, and my kid can enjoy the food. The tables are large wooden, communal tables– but enough room at each right now. I’m sure when it’s busy, that can be a pain to sit yourself. I ordered the small Cesar which I really enjoyed, the electric jellyfish which is the IPA selection, and a cheese pizza for us to share. The food came out very quickly. And was surprised at how fresh all the ingredients tasted. The pizza is not my favorite ever, but it’s okay. The IPA though. Holy yummo batman… Super tasty. Overall, a pretty cheap meal with a relaxing environment, and great brews. I would def come back again. Nice to have a good additional on this side of town.

They’ve outdone themselves. First, it’s in the hood. Beautiful space with more actual«space» than the original, so I didn’t feel so cramped. They’re now serving GF personal pizzas and my daughter in law says they’re offering her fave, so that’s a relief! We were really excited by the lunch offering(even on weekends) any salad, a personal pizza and drink for $ 11. Add $ 2.99 and you can have a beer instead. Great deal of you have a crowd because everyone can order exactly what they want. It’s also great pizza, score/win This place listens to customers and adapts. Great idea!

This new location of PHP is a an absolute godsend. It has everything great about the original but with plentiful parking and what feels like a more spacious interior. I’ve always loved their pizza but live a bit far from the Burnet location. Their beers pair well with their pizzas, my favorite being their Cannonball(which is essentially a meat lovers). The crust is medium thickness and has a nice crisp exterior. Pepperoni slices are the large variety which I also prefer. Like the North location, they have a couple of old school 25 cent arcade games tucked in the corner which are a big draw for the kiddos. I couldn’t think of a better occupant for this old Chili’s building than PHP.

Great atmosphere & good pizzas. We came here on a weeknight and it was super packed! The setup of PHP definitely reminds me of ABGB where you order at the front counter, then you find your own seating. The location is convenient(partially because it’s close to where I live), but also the mall complex provides plenty of parking! The staff members were pleasant and very welcoming. Great selection of beer on tap — pumpkin beer! And pizzas were deeeelicious. You can get them in different sizes and also have them split flavors! We had the pepperoni & basil(the best out of the three!), the Hawaiian and the shroom pizza(mushroom with goat cheese & lots of olive oil — a tad too much). Overall the pizzas were fresh, got some good crust and generous with toppings. However, the queso — I would hold off on ordering cause it really just wasn’t good. The consistency was weak and watery.

Ok it’s Monday afternoon. The Longhorns were shutout. The Dallas Cowboys lost again. Desperation Monday, what to do? Carb out, heavy beer lunch, oh yeah! Pizza, double ipa double times and yes everything was better for a while. Hey this place is pretty cool, in house made beer and a few visitors. Pizza hot fresh and gobbleable or something like that. Great service and cool vibe not to mention dog friendly patio.

PHP!!! They have become my favorite beer and pizza spot. A perfect place to kick it with some friends and enjoy the day or evening. I’ve been to the north one many times and I’m really excited they opened one in south Austin. I love the set up and though they just opened up I know they will add some more things. I really like the materials used for the patio area. Using rope as a fence is genius and adds a nice feel and touch to maximize being outside. The outside bar is nice, you can order your food from there as well without having to go inside. The beer is changing constantly but never too quickly. The 26in ipa is very delicious along with the blind Jake which is a Porter that has a smooth sip to it. The pizza is quality and it’s all in the bread. The building is also bigger than the north store. Grab a few friends and have some of PHP’s own beer as they make their own on site or try beer from another local brewery that they also sell. Either way you won’t be disappointed. Cheers.
