Not too bad for a sandwich shop downtown. I love their creamy club sandwich. Every time I go to Planet Subs I want to try something else but I always end up getting the creamy club. It’s that good!

Great sandwiches! Lots of variety and the bread is tasty without being too filling. Perfect for lunch, order online to skip the lunch hour drones.

I ordered the Creamy Club and my partner ordered the Mega Roast Beef and both of them were mouth watering good! We also got one of their chocolate chip cookies, and I am dead serious when I say it was the best cookie I have ever had in my entire life! I am a fan for life.

I had The Experience sub which the guy said is what people go there to get. It was good, but maybe I had my hopes up a bit too far. Very sparse collection of bottled beer. Place is clean, and I’d go back, but I wouldn’t tell everyone, «If you’re in Austin, you have to go here.»

Finally a sub around here I like. The bread was toasted perfectly. The chicken had a nice seasoning. The half was filling enough for me.

Holy sh*tsnacks…I am officially addicted to this place. To the extent of feeling mild shame when the delivery guy arrives! First, they are every bit as fast as one of their competitors(lookin at you, JJ) on most days. Not EVERY time, but 4⁄5 times it’s mind-blowingly fast. Super, duper tasty — I have been variously addicted to the Greek Wrap(dill!!), the Super Hero(YEUH) and now the Green Turkey(sub pepper jack for cream cheese). I literally just ate this three days in a row and I feel alternately fantastic and bad about it, given the fact I didn’t HAVE to order out every day but did anyway. Just go for it. It is a little pricey but it’s really the shiz. I pretty much dare you not to eat it again… and again.

Huge variety of flavor options with consistently good quality products. I have ordered online(pay there) and online(pay beforehand) and both times I got exactly what I ordered. I have also gone with people who ordered at the counter. Even during lunch rush, the food came out quickly. If you have never eaten here before, I recommend the smaller sub. It is a bit like the 6″ inch at subway but because they put on more meat it is plenty of food.

Delicious subs, so many choices you can’t go wrong! This place gets busy during lunch hour but this location has their stuff together. The staff is so helpful, fast, and efficient by the time you fill your drink and pick out your chips your sandwich order is ready.

I challenged myself to try something new for lunch, so a friend suggested I try this Planet Sub. I certainly wasn’t disappointed! At first I thought the half-size would be small, but it turned out to be the perfect size. I liked the chicken club and am happy to add this place to my «go-to work lunch» list.

Yum yum yum!!! Kinda pricy for a sub but they’re worth every penny… About the Sub: «The Experience» is my new favorite sub! A must try, for sure! Chicken, Bacon, Pepperoni, Pepper Jack, Jalapeños, Chipotle Sauce, and CREAMCHEESE! All amazing ingredients, but the cream cheese really takes the sandwich to another level. «Like, OMG! I totally see why they call this The Experience!» — Direct quote from yours truly after the first bite. Now, I’m definitely looking forward to indulging in their many other signature subs! About the restaurant: Not a large chips selection if that matters to anyone. Mainly kettle chips. Friendly staff. And they make the sandwiches pretty quickly so you won’t have to wait long. They do get slammed during lunch hours but still not much of a wait.

Better than Quizno’s or Subway. Large variety of subs, pretty tasty and fresh. Nothing mind blowing, but good enough food. Prices are on the high side, but I love that they give you the calorie counts on every sandwich. I wish they had a daily special or some such to make it easier on the wallet. Tons of professionals here for lunch, lots of Espn type stuff on their 3 big screens, sadly I would prefer the news though. The wraps are pretty good as an alternative to the subs. And they give you a playing card to match your order, which is nicer than getting a number, I think(although probably less sanitary). The kids menu looks decent, if you need a place to feed your kids while downtown visiting the Capitol and such. If you work or live nearby, you’ll be glad this place is here to serve all of your sub needs.

Little shocked at the ratings here– I had the Dagwoods dream which sounds amazing: premium roast beef, smoked ham, pastrami, provolone, onions, tomatoes, horseradish… honestly all I could taste is the ham and onions, which were just cooked to this in between level that I’m not a fan of– give onions to me raw or well cooked– almost Carmelized… but these were that in between. You don’t have a choice on the bread –it’s some mix of wheat and white — good, maybe slightly bready. Overall it’s marginally better than potbellys– maybe good for the price but I’d happily pay more for a better sandwich– Melvins to name a few here.

I used Planet Sub catering strictly based on the Unilocal reviews. Thank you fellow Unilocalers! We ordered box lunches for a business meeting our executives were having. We’re in Denver, CO so I had no idea who to use in Austin, TX. The report back from our executive team is that the box lunches were EXCELLENT! They were delivered on time and very tasty. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars was based on talking to employees other than the manager. When I first called to inquire about their catering service, I was told that I’d have to call back when someone familiar with the catering service was available. Hmmmm… not the kind of service I was expecting. I explained to the person that I needed to make the booking that day and couldn’t wait. He did take my information and said he’d have his manager call me back ASAP. Within 5 minutes, I received a call from the manager who was more than accommodating! The order was placed and I was satisfied my the customer service. I did have to call back the morning of the meeting to add additional box lunches to the order. I was calling close to 1 hour before the delivery time and wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to make the addition. Again, the person who answered the phone wasn’t very helpful. He told me the order was already out for delivery; however, put me on hold and connected me with the manager. Again, the manager was amazing. He confirmed that the delivery had just left their restaurant, but offered to make the additional box lunches and send them out separately as soon as they could. My team informed me that the 2 deliveries were only 5 minutes apart. That’s awesome! Thank you Planet Sub! Maybe a little training on customer service for the people who answer the phone?

Finally I found a sub place to rival my beloved grinder place I miss from Seattle. First trip I got the torpedo(italian) & it was toasted perfectly & everything in it tasted very fresh. I got the large but I’d say the regular for most people would be a full meal. The menu is extremely varied with all sorts of options you aren’t likely to find at a run of the mill sub place. The menu’s creativity will keep me coming back to try new combos. I will certainly be back.

The best sub I’ve ever had was«The Whole Experience». This place is fantastic. When we went, there was no one there. The cashier was friendly and gave suggestions on sandwiches. Once ordered the food came out quickly and it tasted great. I found out this place is a chain and there are 2 in Austin, the first in Texas. I truly hope they open one in San Antonio soon because it could get expensive driving a hour for a sub. This is another place I will return to the next time I’m in Austin.

I don’t give 5 star often but this is seriously the best sub shop I’ve come across in Austin, especially if you are a gluten free eater. I went in the middle of the lunch rush(about 12:15ish) and the line moved quickly(definite plus!). The only draw back is that the set for ordering is a little awkward. You get your drinks and chip first and then people are milling around waiting for their to-go orders. I decided on the Torpedo on gluten free bread, which is supposed to be an Italian Grinder. Its charged as a half portion with the additional money for the gluten free bun. The bun reminded me of a Udi’s hamburger bun in terms of size, taste but texture, the bread stay together very well despite the sandwich getting soggy from the toppings en route back to my office. Besides the normal toppings, I also got sliced pickles and jalapeño(was disappointed they didn’t have spicy crushed red peppers). The sandwich tasted so good and really fresh. I was worried that since the gluten free bun was smaller than the half portion that I would get less meat. This was definitely not the case. I could taste all the components in every bite and didn’t find anything overpowering. It definitely reminded me of my Italian Grinders I’d get back on the east coast. If you are a particularly sensitive celiac or gluten free eater, they also wrap the sandwich once to prevent cross contamination and then again when you get it to go. I still can’t get over how good the gluten free bread is and how it didn’t crumble all over the place! This will seriously be a weekly lunch staple! Torpedo Love!

I attempted to walk to Subway(I work Downtown) & their line was to the door & Moving slowly. I went across the way to Planet sub for the 1st time & the line was short & fast! They were so friendly & accommodating. They made great recommendations, everything was super fresh, & they do not charge for every condiment i like on my Tuna. Olives, pickles, peppercinis, & jalapeños. They only charge extra for bacon, cheese, or avocado– understandably. Please try them– fresh baked bread in-house, too. yum! Kate
