This may be the worst Popeyes I’ve ever been to. Popeyes is known for having inconsistencies between franchises but this one highlights that notion. I’ve been there three times in the past month and every time I go, they’re out of the following: –Most sauces. How hard is it to keep sauces in Stock? They only had buffalo and BBQ sauce on my last visit. –Unsweet tea. Not a huge deal, but they do have the dispenser and the ingredients. –Napkins. I don’t think I’ve ever seen napkins at this location. All they have is a roll of institutional brown paper towels that you need to tear off, like at Hooters. –Advertised specials. If you don’t carry pepper barrel tenders anymore, take down the sign. It’s not like they follow franchise rules anyway. If Popeyes corporate enforced consistency between franchises, this place would become Pope’s Chicken overnight. Tasty chicken though.

Yep. Horrendous service, design and management. Been here twice and never again. First visit, they got my order wrong after first denying they even had the item I wanted(po boy). Ordered with shrimp and I got chicken. The design of the place is so poor with bad access and exit points – you have a hard time getting out when a bunch of cars are lined up coming out of the strip center behind the restaurant. 2nd visit was a total disaster – long drive thru line, almost getting hit by cars & trucks backing out of spaces or passing thru. One total d-bag cut around the line completely and got in front of everybody to order at window. Idiot at window was using a broom to sweep something out in front of the drive thru window while cars were trying to come up for food. Turns out the drive thru speaker was broken, but at no time did anybody come out to help customers at the speaker or at least tell customers anything. Got to front of line to order shrimp again only to be told they were sold out of shrimp. avoid and go elsewhere.

Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Popeyes, but this location sucks. I’ve given their staff 3 seperate chances to redeem this location(since I live nearby) and every time I’ve waited over 15 minutes, they’ve been out of something, and it just seems like they don’t care. The drive through staff didn’t respond to me for 5+minutes on my last visit. I didn’t get the blackened ranch I asked for, and I didn’t even get napkins or utensils to eat sides with. I had to wait a third time for them to bring the biscuits out to me. Never again riverside popeyes, NEVERAGAIN.

Outright incompetent staff, particularly drive thru. Specifically requested mild. Got home and they gave me spicy. I can handle spicy but the reason I requested mild was for my son.

Went here for the first time yesterday because they had this deal: a leg and thigh for $ 1.08 so I ordered enough for my husband and I. When I went up to the drive-thru window I asked if its only friend chicken or if there was an option for grilled chicken and the rude girl on the headset gave me attitude and said«ma’am we only serve fried chicken here» I didn’t appreciate feeling belittled by a rotten human of society. The food wasn’t great at all, but what do you expect from a cheap and dirty fast food restaurant anyway?

Horrendous service. I asked for the drive thru guy to wait on me, kept repeating questions to force an answer when I kept saying hold on. Get to window, it’s a manager. Soda is flat. He didn’t care. Asked for sauce, out of every sauce except plain Ranch apparently. Disappointing as we love popeyes as a restaurant. This review is for that man. Update: got home and even though being the only person in the drive thru– my order is wrong. Thanks stupid man. 18 bucks for food I can’t eat.

This place was decent. I’m a huge fan of fried chicken, and the taste was pretty nice(I thought their wings were better than the wings I’ve gotten from pluckers), but idk I didn’t think it was really worth the price even if it was somewhat cheap for restaurant standards. Probably won’t be coming back here unless I just have this huge craving for chicken.

It would be great if they spoke English well enough so you can figure out what you just ordered!

This place will give you fire hole! The last two times I have eaten here I have had food poisoning. Even before that going through the drive-thru was a nightmare. I usually have to repeat the order 2−3x and most of the time its still not right. I ordered a spicy chicken breast and that was it, and it didn’t taste right from the start and I didn’t eat all of it either, but it was too late. The next 24 hours was bathroom lockdown. Then I recently saw the commercial for the new tender strip dinner and figured I give it another try. Well what I got looked nothing like the commercial. They also gave me some nasty gravy that was not the garlic one in the commercial. The chicken tenders were regular tenders, not even the size or shape of the ones in the commercial. Then woke up in the middle of the night sick as a dog. Never again! I have eaten at the other Popeye’s on oltorf and never had a problem, its just our if the way.

Lets get this straight. The chicken at Popeyes is legit. By FAR the best chicken strips ever created. BUUUT. Service is non-Chikfila-like. It’s horrible. I have probably gone to this location at least 50 times since I moved here and my order has been wrong 45 times. It’s always a game when I go to see if I have to go back in and get the right thing. But the chicken, again, is legit.

Worst chicken. greasy to where it was dripping off my sons finger. smelled like it was redipped in old oil. just terrible. I don’t like to give negative feedback but I just can’t let this slide. I would have tried to return it but to get in and out sucks ! And w the customer service it woulda been a waste of my time. only thing warm was the beans. warm !!

Been here once, probably won’t be back. Spent the night with a stomach ache with everyone else that are there. Employees very very hard to understand. I’ll look elsewhere for some fried chicken and mashed potatoes.

Love the food — The service is poor at best. Went through the drive through– was told 2 minuets and to park and they would bring it out to me. 15 minutes later, Im in the store asking for my food which I received 5 minutes later without my drink and had to ask for that. its a shame that they are within ½ mile to me and I would rather drive an extra 2 – 3 miles for a better store/service.

Inept staff that will give you options only to tell you that you had none. Will always mess up your order. Spicy or Mild? Oh I’m sorry we are out of both. 20 minute waits are common for fries or chicken tenders. Staff is too lazy to make sure they have food ready for lunch or dinner service. This place devalues the Popeye’s brand.

I’m not sure why I’m reviewing Popeyes but I’ve been disappointed by their spicy(everything) chicken recently. It seems like its not as spicy any more…

Pretty efficient service, order filled correctly. About average for Popeye’s, although my spicy strips still required the use of liberal doses of Louisiana Hot Sauce. Would’ve been a four star except for a complete lack of napkins. WTF?

Been to this location on riverside drive 4 times in the last 6 months. It’s in a part of town that is shared by college students and Austin’s Hispanic community. I always order the spicy wraps which just went up in price from $ 1.49 to $ 1.99. The wraps are always good, sometimes better than others. The service has always been friendly and fast.

Two times in one week and both times order screwed up and both times no napkins for greasy fried chicken. How fricking hard is it to get the order correct at a chicken place, not exactly a whole lot of options.
