Rollin Smoke BBQ

I had a terrible brisket craving and was stoked that Amazon Prime Now delivers from Rollin Smoke! We ordered a couple of the big brisket sandwiches, the playboy sandwich, and the beans. Found the beans a bit on the sweet side, but the sandwiches definitely hit the deep smokey meat spot!

Came here on the Austin Passbook. Only got a chance to try «The Silky», but my oh my it was amazing! The sandwich is aptly named as the pulled pork is so tender, rich, and juicy; the coleslaw has the perfect amount of acidity blending so well with the pork; and the bread is soft and sweet especially when mixed with their sauce. Definitely worth coming here, especially when it’s open so late in East Austin!

Amazing food!!! Highly recommend the player’s pie!!! Such good flavor and such a good value for the amount vs cost!

Awesome tacos! Legit BBQ coming from a trailer, quite impressive! Hit the spot on the way home from ACL.

Banana pudding! Take it from a huge dessert fan… this is PERFECT for that sweet tooth craving you have while your bestie wants to eat some MEAT!

AMAZING. Only word that can describe this place. A must get when in Austin. If the banana pudding is available GET IT.

Full Disclosure: the owner invited me to come by this place so I might be a bit biased.
I got to try a bit of everything: brisket, pork ribs, beef ribs, sandwiches. I have to say that their sandwiches are their specialty. Everything else is solid, but my super picky, hypertaster 14-​year-​old brother (I’ve told him multiple times that he should become a food critic) actually made a comment about how good the sandwiches were.
Their specials menu changes frequently. Be sure you call ahead if you’re hoping for beef ribs etc. to make sure they have it that day.

First, let me just say I love the location! I had the BRISKET TACOS, and let me just say insanely incredible, so tender and perfectly seasoned. The next time I come to Austin this will be my first stop.

I grew up in Austin and was raised by a pack of wild competitive meat grilling freaks, so, i think it goes without saying that i know whats up when it comes to bbq. Kyle, the mastermind behind the face melting playboy, has blown my mind with his entire menu. The first «sandwich» ~more like a heaping pile of perfectly moist brisket/​pulled pork/​sausage/​crunchyummydank slaw wedged inside a bun~ i had was when they were posted up on west 5^th and ive followed them to east 6^th because OMGGGG id go anywhere for this meat crack. Idgaf about Unilocal but the world needs to know that this place is whats up. No bullshit lines because this is the best kept secret this town has to offer any self respecting carnivore. Get you some boo.

We got the Brisket Taco and Pulled Pork. This is as good as it gets in Austin. He gave us a sample prior to ordering and both meats were delicious so we got both tacos. Both came with his original slaw that definitely added to the entire brisket taco/​pulled pork taco mouth experience. Go here!

Good late night location, really laid back and friendly owner too.
But it’s just average BBQ, not bad at all but certainly not the best, especially I’m this town.
However if you find yourself on E 6^th St and knocking back a few beers I’d say it’s definitely worth a shot.
And of course you’d be supporting another locally owned business.

Amazing BBQ, try anything with the Brisqet. Also had the Playboy that has Brisqet, pulled chicken and sausage which I don’t recommend.

Last night my girlfriend and I went on a food hunt to the trucks around East 6^th. It’s a bit far from the other group of food trucks, a block or two maybe, but has the best food out of all, along with Baton Creole (Ah man the Gumbo!)
If you guys don’t find something good to eat in the actual food truck ‘flock’, go down a couple blocks to the Rollin Smoke BBQ, and you won’t be disappointed!

Try the silky burger! For me it was the best pulled pork sandwich ever! I visited them in my first trip to austin and I had eat the sandwich one more time before leaving for Houston!!! I am gonna come back to Austin for everything and alsooo for this amazing food truck: P

Most honest and unhyped bbq out there! Anyone can make tacos or nachos, but the owner was sweet enough to tell me about how he smokes all meat onsite for 8hrs daily before serving it up fresh 5 nights/​week. Employs some of the same spices and techniques as the big boys. Sounds like a labor of love!
Idgaf about syrupy sweet sauce, here it’s tangy and spicy, but more importantly, the meat is cooked to perfection and just crumbles in your mouth!
Also: veggie option?! What other bbq truck has that?

Oh. My. God. I wasn’t quite sure what the whole Texas BBQ craze was all about until my boyfriend and I randomly stumbled onto this truck one night after being told that VIA 313 had an hour and a half wait time for food. I got the Silky based on the owner’s recommendation and my boyfriend got the tacos, and I can easily say we’ve never devoured a meal faster in our lives. We also didn’t care about all the juices dripping down our faces and hands as passersby gave us looks of disgrace. We will definitely be going back again and again and again.

My wife and I were visiting the art galleries in the East Austin area last week. After visiting a few galleries, time quickly slipped on by. We both realized we had missed dinner and needed to grab something before we made the trek back to North Austin area. Luckily we parked close to this truck, because the smell made our decision much easier.
I am not a big bbq fan, but my wife grew up in Luling and considers herself to be an expert. The guy working the counter was very patient and took the time to answer all my questions (I must have rattled off about 50 of them trying to figure out what I wanted).After his help on navigating the menu, my wife and I both decided to order.
I ordered The Playboy, which woud allow me to try all three of their meat offerings and my wife ordered The Silky. The food came out very quickly and almost caught us by surprise. After the first bite, we definitely knew that we made the right choice!
Food was excellent, but the service was even better. I enjoyed the food so much, I have already made plans to stop by this weekend… the guy mentioned they cater and we are seriously considering having them out for our house warming party. If you are in the mood for GREAT BBQ, this is your spot!

The guy who was working at the truck when I went was super friendly and nice.
My boyfriend loved his pulled pork so he took me back here to try it. I got a brisket taco. It was pretty darn good. A bit on the small side but the brisket was tender and the sauce was flavorful.
Would definitely make it a mission to hit up this truck again when I’m in town again.

Best barbeque in town !!
Everything is on point and then some. These folks make some amazing brisket, pulled pork, chicken, and pork ribs.
I can hardly eat barbeque anywhere else now, officially spoiled me !
