The salad bar is good but the rest of the food… yuck!!! The pizza is dry, the pasta has no taste … In fact the rest of the food has No seasoning Plus its expensive and they don’t take their own coupons :/

I was expecting a large salad selection and a few soups to choose from along with maybe a few sides. I was pleasantly surprised to see there were many sides along with 5 soup choices, pizza, deserts, fruit, and even pasta salads! My server was Ryan, he was very friendly and accommodating. He was constantly stocking things and helping guests, and making it a priority to ensure quality service and hospitality. I will deffinently return.

OK, so the actual food was ok for what the place is. Not bad, not quality, but decent and at a fair price. It is what it is. The problem I have with the restaurant is not the food/service but with the staff who were manning the registers who ignored the fact that a lady right behind them(10′ away), and closest to the salad bar, was changing her baby’s diaper.(she did the deed in a booth about 5′ from the salad bar) So at that time there were only 3 tables occupied in the restaurant. The diaper-changing family of 6, seated at a table about 10′ away from the salad bar, us and another table of 3 close to us. I’m angry because the two staff people who were operating the register happened to look my direction and I know I had to have a look of disgust on my face when I was looking at the lady changing her baby’s diaper. They both looked in the direction I was looking and the lady was only a few feet behind them. No way they didn’t see that. In fact it looked like they both commented something to each other but I was too far away to hear. Regardless, they ignored it. So when the lady finishes does she at least go to the bathroom to wash up? Nope. I mean really. Most restaurants have changing tables in the bathrooms. If not, then couldn’t you have gone to the other side of the restaurant that was completely empty? Or back to your king cab pickup truck? The fact that the employees didn’t say anything at all means this was ok for them too and I’m sorry. I’m not anti-baby, but come on, changing your baby’s diaper in a booth that is literally next to the salad bar. If I had been getting my salad and seen/smelled that. Oh hell no. On top of that her, daughter(maybe 15 or 16ish) was at the pasta area and piled on two helpings of spaghetti… then changed her mind and literally used the tongs to remove and put back every strand of spaghetti back into the spaghetti container. Every strand. I thought she’d never get that last strand with the tongs and was expecting momma to come up and do it with her fingers. Thank God she finally grabbed it with the tongs! Mind you she already had food on her plate when she was putting it all back. So you guys get a bad review because your employees didn’t have the chutzpah to say something to the lady. Bleh.

I had been to a souper salad in vegas which wasn’t very good. So I cautiously went to this one. Everything was fresh and the place was clean. I would highly recommend going there and will go back.

They did not honor the standard Souper Salad coupon we found online. We left without eating there on principle.

If you can choose a different restaurant to go to, any place — do that and skip this place. The management is extremely rude and unhelpful, and don’t even think about bringing any coupons with you: they will find any imaginable reason under the sun so to not accept any of your coupons. The manager we spoke to was extremely arrogant and chose to let us walk out of the place over accepting a coupon we had every right to use. Cleanliness there is very questionable as well. If you don’t want your day to be completely spoiled, have a lunch or dinner somewhere else.

Good chain restaurant salad place. Even though they have much more than just salad, I always leave here full, happy, and not guilty. That should say it all. Manager or shift leader even remembered us from before. We usually go after the lunch rush and after everything gets replenished. I never had any problem with coupons, but only used a couple of them.

So a coworker and I sat down for lunch yesterday and my last experience with the company at a different location was horrible. To my surprise, this location was a lot different and in a good way! The greens were crispy and fresh. The dressings were full of flavor and the best part was EVERYTHING tasted so good! The soups were very rich in flavor as well and all i know is I ate entirely too much. I think i must have made at least 4 trips back up to get more. I will definitely be coming back. My only complaint was the silverware could have been cleaned better and the bathrooms had been cleaned or recently stocked. There was no soap in the dispenser

We come here regularly because it is the only place where I can reliably get my 4-year-old to eat nutritious food, with the bribery of dessert at the end of his dining experience. I feel like I always have food-amnesia about Souper Salad every time we come, like I remember it as being pretty tasty, but then I always end up feeling«meh» about their soups, pre made salads, etc. The one reliable thing is building your own salad(obviously), and my favorite dessert: a hot spice muffin topped with ice cream.

I think it is rather ironic that at the bottom of the receipt it says to sign up for the Souper Salad Fresh Club yet this location won’t accept coupons when given coupons from it. There should be signage that it is a franchise store which doesn’t accept corporate coupons. They should also take off mentioning about the Fresh Club if they aren’t a Participating Store of Fresh Club. It rather sours the experience since the store is much better than the others in freshness and décor compared to the other Souper Salads that I’ve been to in Austin and San Antonio.

It’s funny. I have a coupon at home I keep forgetting to bring. Guess this location does not take coupons. Salad and soft drink is like 10.50. Lots of choices. 5 soups. Pizza. Nacho bar with taco shells/chips. Fruit area and ice cream machine. Not bad. They do have broccoli and cheese soup. Fast re fills on drinks. They just don’t like to clear your table

First off, I had no problem with the establishment itself other than them not accepting coupons like others have mentioned and the bar being extremely cramped. The wait staff was pleasant. So, I finally decided to give this place a shot… and what a huge disappointment! I don’t understand how people enjoy this food… There’s just something disgusting about eating ice cold pasta, ew. Ice cold marinated whole mushrooms, ew. Pizza tastes as much like cardboard as it looks(think of the cheap $ 1 frozen pizzas… worse than that) All salad toppings look like cheap, straight from the can, artificial bits. To top it off. the Ice Cream Machine was BROKEN. ahhhhh PEOPLE! just spend the extra $ 1 and go eat at Golden Corral if you want a good buffet salad bar with fresh cut vegetables and toppings instead of that canned garbage from Souper Salad and an actual choice of other edible foods… plus all you can eat steaak

Not sure why this place has bad reviews and only three stars. The restaurant was VERY clean and the quality of the food was great. My server was not overly friendly but he was busy the entire time working so I didn’t take it as rude. All the ingredients in the bar were fresh and tasted well. The broccoli soup was great, the Greek salad was delicious, and as previously stated the entire place was clean. I was worried because of looking at other reviews but even the restroom was clean. Usually a clean restroom means a clean kitchen!

Yeah I am a sucker for this place for sure. The experience with the staff is always pretty good and I feel that for the type of establishment, I have not found a better place to date. I had to take off a star for two reasons: 1) They took away the pepperoni from the salad bar. C’mon now, replacing it with diced ham is just not a substitute. 2) The last time I went there they took away the Broccoli and Cheese soup. Now this soup has to be the most popular choice, and it was gone. I was almost in shock. Other than that my family and I really enjoy this place.

I think everyone knows that it’s nearly impossible to find healthy eateries these days with fast-food chains at every turn. It’s also common-knowledge that eating healthy is much more expensive.
Here is where Souper Salad comes in to save the day(or meal)! The place is clean and well maintained. The price is a steal, considering for unlimited soup/salad/deserts/misc foods you can spend more on a «value meal» at a fast food joint. The soup was amazing, the lettuce crisp, the veggies fresh. No complaints here, but if I had to mention one it would be that Souper Salad could get dull pretty fast. Not only is eating healthy generally boring, but after a few visits, I could see myself uninterested in going. However, I am definitely a fan! I just wish there were more healthy options to choose from, in general.

Went today for the first time in about 11 years, and it was pretty much the same, but with some new, and tasty additions. I was pleasantly surprised by the decent flavor of the vegetarian«lasagna» pasta and the roasted vegetables(including really fresh, crisp yellow squash and zucchini — not soggy and limp) was delicious! The pizza was even pretty good. I wish it wasn’t so noisy, but hey, it’s a popular place and there’s no décor to speak of, to dampen the sounds.(Also, my daughter picked the table right next to the drink machine and they happen to be refilling the ice — about 5 huge buckets full– while we were eating.) Bonus points: The cashier asked how old our daughter was, as 2 and under eat free, and when I said she is 3, she said, «oh well, I’ll put her down as 2 so she can eat for free.» Score!

Maybe my problem is that we killed this place routinely for like 15 years, and at this point, I just cant take the lack-luster brand that Souper Salad feels to me. Everything tastes the same, I swear. I know it DOESN’T, but it feels like nothing has a flare to it. I never understand why they don’t cut up their lettuce more, but alas, that’s just a me thing. They HAVE stepped up their additions to the buffet lines, offering baked sweet potatoes, as well as regular potatoes. Their pizzas are pretty good, and they have a «taco bar» w noodles for the kiddos. BUT, overall, I’m worn on Souper Salad so my review shouldn’t really be considered! If I hadn’t been 6,000 times, I might have had a much more positive review.

3.75 stars based on decent food and great hospitality by a staff member, Doc. This is a strip mall salad bar place that is a good, healthy choice for lunch. Pay, grab a plate and pile on the salad. There are several types of salads pre made to choose from, like caesar. They are all good enough, though they are tossed with croutons and dressing. The result is soggy croutons. Lots of add ons are found as you continue down the buffet, cucumber, egg, all the stuff you’d expect. Next is the soup area. They usually have five or so hot soups available. They all appear to be home made, or at least mo’ better than Campbell’s, and the varieties I’ve tried are all tasty. The chicken corn bread and beef barley stand out. Next you’ll find Texas chili that is a good rendition, though if you’re hankering for chili there’s a Chili’s a few stores away that has a better version. There were a few hot items like mac n cheese and tacos on a recent visit, and I think those items change a little from day to day. As you come to the end of the buffet you’ll find warm bread and some mediocre thin crust pizza. Drinks are fountain variety, and the iced tea is kinda weak. So if you are looking for a quick, easy, relatively healthy lunch choice in north Austin, Souper Salad is a convenient choice with friendly service.

Me likey! I like this Souper Salad better than the others. Its staff is moderately friendly(sometimes you get this really nice waiter who is super attentive and fills our drinks before we can even ask him to). The bread sticks are hit or miss, sometimes they are fresh, other times they are hard. The rest of the food is pretty good, especially for a souper salad. The food selection is fresh(especially the salad bar items). I like the chipotle ranch dressing! Nice touch!
