This place always has good deals and their menu has a pretty nice variety with new items every couple of months. The staff is always friendly. And I like that they’re open until midnight.

I have been to taco buenos all over the state. I come from the town where TB was founded. This particular TB is the WORST. Consistently wrong orders. Consistently hard tortillas. Consistently under filling tacos and burritos. No pride whatsoever in anything they do here. If your craving TB, don’t bother here — you will be disappointed. Best bet is to go IN, that way you don’t get home and realize your order is incomplete or sub par and can complain immediately.

Drove all the way to the Slaughter location at 9:30pm from central Austin for party burritos… all the lights were off and the drive thru employee told us they were ‘closed for the night’ – no explanation whatsoever. AT9:30PMON A FRIDAY! Normally I wouldn’t write a review about this, but sadly this is NOT the first time we’ve seen them closed before operating hours. Kinda shady…

They gave me someone else’s order and took a ridiculous amount of time to fix it. By the time they were done with it all most of the crunchy tacos were very soggy. This was not the first time I’ve had an issue with this location. So disappointing because I love Taco Bueno, step it up y’all!

I LOVE Taco Bueno, this location is no exception. Great food! However, my family does not live in Austin. We live in one of the fastest growing nearby cities, Bastrop, TX. We do not have a Taco Bueno and I hate it! So do a lot of my friends. Please come to Bastrop Taco Bueno!!! I promise you would get TONS of business!!! The closest thing we have is Taco Cabana, but it has poor service and has made a bad reputation for itself. People are asking for a Taco Bueno!

I’d eat Taco Bueno anywhere. Love it. But I have to shout out the staff at Austins one and only location. They obviously care about the people that walk through their doors, and it shows in the quality of everything there. I ordered the beef muchaco whollatta platter because, hey, how often do I get down here from the triangle? Crispy taco, muchaco, enchirito?, rice, beans, guacamole, Bueno food coma bliss. Every aspect of the plate was perfect. I do not use that term lightly; the crispy taco had a half taco shell so it wouldn’t get soggy(it didn’t) and even the guacamole had its own chip support so it didn’t touch anything else. I was going to take a picture, but couldn’t wait to dive in. It really looked like something I’d get at a nice sit down place. If this truly is how they roll on a daily basis, I could see them redefining what the standards of fast food should be. Queso was hot and the sour cream was cool. Muchaco was good as ever. Salsa bar is fantastic too, especially the roasted salsa. If I had two wishes, one would be to change every Taco C into a Bueno! And world peace. But mostly Bueno.

I frequent this location about 3 – 4 times a week. They have a variety of options and even serve a low cost breakfast taco. There food is always fresh. Out of all the times I’ve gone, they only left an item out once, and they gave me a free item to make up for it when I returned. That’s good business. Very satisfied with the product consistency and the customer service.

Every time I come to Texas, I NEED to get my Bueno on. I grew up eating this food, and believe me when I tell you that I miss having it readily available since I now live out on the east coast. My go-to items are Muchacos(a Taco Bueno institution) and cinnamon chips. Don’t forget the salsa to set off the flavors. I can usually polish off two with ease but hunger and/or excitement sometimes calls for a third, which I generally regret after the fact. What can I say? — sometimes I just can’t help myself. Bueno, I love you.

Fast food tacos aren’t a new concept but this place beat Taco Bell by 100 miles in a 10 mile race. Is it the best? No but it’s decent. The portions are good and the salsa is ok. The tables were super messy, all of them, and that’s a big gripe on my end.

The drive through guy was the most rude person I have ever dealt with. We ordered a bunch of food and some extra pico. The guy said 5 sides of pico??? Like it was something ridiculous! He then handed us our food in one bag and the extra pico in an entirely different bag saying: here is your food, and here is your pico. …What a passive aggressive ass!

By far one of the best fast food spots you can hit. If you’re on the go and simply don’t have time to sit and eat, I suggest grabbing a bean burrito, muchaco, or just a taco. The ingredients are much more legit that TBell and it shows in every single menu item. Btw even the enchiladas here are pretty awesome, and Taco Bueno is far superior to Taco Cabana. Its right outside my gate and I could not be happier for that!

I LOVE Taco Bueno… I’ve been to this one twice, and the food is first rate. However, I am rating this location 3 stars because their dining room is a wreck, and the employees all seem to have the attitude that they are over worked and under paid. Dining room is not stocked, most of the tables are dirty, and nothing is moving quickly(especially the food service). The food seems to be their redeeming quality. Otherwise, I would rate this place 1 star. Management needs to get on the ball, or this place will not be here long.

Alas, I mourn that Austin only has one Taco Bueno. Unless you grew up in Dallas in the 80’s and 90’s, you’ll never understand how important Taco Bueno was. If you were under 18, it was the hub of everything social. It had a video arcade and an outer atrium-like area where people smoked. Anyway, I know Austin has all kinds of great TexMex stands and trailers, and I love them too, but nothing can satisfy an urge for Taco Bueno except Taco Bueno. And it’s cheap, too. For $ 20 you could feed a whole family, easy. I especially recommend the chicken quesadilla soup, beef burritos, party burritos, muchacos. They used to make something called a ‘Taco Burger’ that only old timers remember, which was awesome and I wish they’d bring back. I wish there were more Taco Buenos in Austin, because the major drawback to going there for me is the drive.

The tacos are bueno.(I’m probably not the first person to say that, I know.) Taco Bueno is light years better than Taco Bell, but still doesn’t approach my personal standard for fast Tex-Mex, Rosa’s Café. Having said that, I was very impressed with their regular tacos, which are larger than most chains, the firehouse roasted jalapeño salsa(which is some of the hottest fast food salsa I’ve had), and the friendly service. It’s a hike for me from north Austin(AKA South Dallas), but the next time I’m near Circle C, it’s a great option for satisfying a quick Tex-Mex craving.
