The name translates to «The Hidden Taco Restaurant» and they really are easy to miss, but I’m glad I finally spotted them. I stopped by for some breakfast tacos today and got a dozen to go — service was quick and friendly, and you can’t beat their prices(a dozen tacos plus tip for under 25 bux). I got a variety to sample the different types and ended-up eating 5 myself, so that is probably enough said, but I will reiterate that they make some yummy breakfast tacos. We tried the bacon, potato, sausage, and Mexican egg — all really good. Sadly they were out of the cactus, so I will have to update my review after I sample that. They also have a pancake breakfast which is a nice option you don’t always find at places like this, and from what I recall they have a pretty extensive lunch menu as well. Oh yeah, be advised they are closed on Sundays, so Señor Buddies will have to do if you’re looking for bfast tacos in the area after church. :)

If ever in Dripping Springs and in need of Mexican, Taqueria La Escondida, is the place to go. Hidden in a gas station and worth the venture, this place is quick and delicious. Prices are reasonable and the cleanliness of the establishment is up to par. Two thumbs up.

It’s hard too go in a place and stay when no one greets you. We walked in to this place this morning and thought something must be wrong there’s no one here customers or employees we start to look around and we see an employee sitting in corner she never says a word just looks at us. So we look at the menu for a few and sit there and sit there and decide to leave. I can’t say anything about the food because we never got a chance to order anything. Maybe another day or maybe not.

Great service, clean taqueria. Excellent service and great food for the price. No liquor license(or we couldn’t figure it out, maybe you can byobeer.) Well worth a stop if you are in the neighbourhood.

Guy at the mower repair shop says this is better than Señor Buddy’s. And he was right. Best breakfast tacos in SW Austin. Serious dive qualities without the dive drawbacks — everything is neat and clean. Have to go back for the take out Mexican roasted chicken, tortillas, beans and rice for $ 14. Can’t wait!

yep, i nice gem to stop at for lunch or breakfast if you’re out in the dripping springs area. i’ve eaten here several times and my favorite is the chicken burrito. they don’t fill it up with any rice(like most do) and the veggies and meat are always fresh. If you eat it there they always bring out free chips and salsa too.

This is a surprising little Mexican bistro, hidden behind a gas station and next door to a liquor store. We’ve had several meals here, including breakfast and lunch, and it’s been really good. Breakfast tacos are hot and tasty, good tortillas, and excellent carne asada and guisada. The venue is a reformed Chester’s Chicken outlet that still retains some feathers of days gone by, but the place is very clean and cheerful. If you live in DS, Wimberley, or points west, this is a great stop to pick up some take out on your way home, or to grab a load of breakfast tacos to bribe your coworkers.
