Stopped by for a couple of Tripas tacos to go as I had some chores to run. This place is very close to my house and I stop frequently for something to eat there or to have when I get home. The owner/cook is outstanding and the place is spotless inside the tiny trailer. I have had everything on the little menu except the fish, which is fine by me. I have been pleased every time and there are a couple of things I find spectacular. This is a blue-collar workers’ type of trailer, but he has just purchased a larger one, which is on site, but not yet operational. This is very hard to see, but it is next to the«World’s Largest Shovel» at a landscaping place in the same parking lot.

Okay, I don’t know why exactly, but after reading the reviews from James & Larry here, I thought this place was going to change my life somehow — maybe I’d be taller or have a larger penis. That didn’t happen, but I did enjoy a solid bacon & egg taco for $ 2. Sometimes, you take what you can get. Taqueria Los Arbolitos is a trailer, it’s one guy, and it’s at that intersection known as the«290 – 71 Clusterfuck»(granted there are worse times there than others). And when you’re not that far from the original Jack Allen’s, it’s real easy to have second thoughts. Stick with your first. Because Chef Tino is making good food cheap, he’s doing well enough to expand, and he’s not fooling around with hot sauce — I poured all of mine on a fajita taco, took one big bite, and merrily entered the Gates of Hell. This is the kind of crap guys do for no reason. Okay, it’s the kind of crap I do for no reason. I’ll spare you the usual rhetoric about a man with plans & ambition — it’s simply another chef out there making it happen. And I’m not even going to play the«Support your Local Business» game — if they’re making good stuff, I’ll be back. Taqueria Los Arbolitos is making good stuff. Take a guess how I end this.

I visited this taco truck on a trip to The Donut Hole on Highway 71. My kids insisted on donuts this morning but I wasn’t interested in a sweet breakfast. So I was glad to try out Taqueria Los Arbolitos for the first time, which sits just to the right next to a rather new looking covered porch. Their 2-ingredient breakfast tacos are $ 2 and you can add additional ingredients for 25 cents each. The hot breakfast tacos are fully loaded and piping hot. I was offered the choice of mild or spicy salsa and chose spicy, which was a thin red sauce with plenty of heat. I only had one serving cup with my two tacos but it turned out to be the right amount given the spice level. This breakfast was just what I was looking for. Given my kids’ fondness for the occasional weekend trip to the Donut Hole, I have no doubt I’ll be making future visits here.
