Phillip and the guys at TCW are the absolute best you will find. My girlfriend and I both wanted to get back into mountain biking after years of not riding. We literally went to every bile shop in town when we stumbled upon TCW. Phillip immediately made us feel at home and got us both onto brand new Orbea Occam’s at a great price. After riding the Orbea for a year I was ready to upgrade to a new Yeti. Once again Phillip not only helped me sell my old bike, but gave me a great deal on my dream bike. The service is unbeatable and I’ve not only found a great local bike shop, but made a friend. Trust me, TCW is the only bike shop you’ll ever need to go to if you’re serious about finding great bikes, great customer service and great people.

This place is a super cool bike shop. I picked up a BMX for my youngest son that I know he will love. I took it for a test spin once I got it home. I needed a pair of grips for his old bike, which is being passed down to his sister. They didn’t have them but offered to order them, and call me when they came in. I guess hello kitty grips aren’t a hot item. :) They have solid products and a great staff, very helpful.

EXCELLENT personal service and expertise. Not only does this shop provide professional service, they stand by their work. Specifically I bought my bike online and had my bike built by Texas Cycle Werks, if I have any problems with the bike or if i just want it readjusted within a given period of time, Texas Cycle Werks will give it a follow-​up tune-​up included.

I have been looking for a relatively inexpensive bike to ride around dt austin, and after having an awful experience at another local bike shop, I was jaded to say the least. I walked into this shop with my husband expecting to just glance around and leave. First off: The guys were great, very polite and engaging. Second: The shop itself has a great selection of different kinds of bikes, and if they don’t have what you want, they can probably order it for you with a quick turn around.
I ended up seeing a bike I liked, and after a test ride decided to take it home. The guys were very informative about my warranty info with the bike company itself and what the shop would provide me since I purchased the bike with them. All in all a great/​stress free experience. And I now have one more bike to add to my collection.

I decided I wanted a bike for to start exercising and this was the first place that I went into because I happened to see it as I left Target one day. I haven’t ever bought a bike so I really just wanted some information. Philip was great at explaining things and not pushy at all. He even encouraged me to look around at what was out there before purchasing a bike so I had a good idea for what I wanted.
I did look around at other stores for a few weeks and ultimately decided to come back to TCW to buy a bike. He was great and even let me ride around on the bike a little bit and adjusted the bike before I even decided which one I wanted.
I went through the same process for buying a helmet and ended up getting a good deal on one that was last year’s model.
I would say come by here if you are in the market for a bike or anything bike related and let this local place win your business. Over all I had a great experience at TCW and would recommend Philip 100%.

I recently got a bike online and assembled it. Since I was unsure if I built it correctly, I brought it into Texas Cycle Werks since it was close by. Phillip was easy to talk with and got my bike back to me within 2 days, fully set up and tuned. I will be back to these guys for any future tune ups.

A few months ago, I embarked myself on the journey of buying my first road bike. The hardest part was finding the right shop, I quickly realized Austin is packed with amazing shops that offer great service. However, amongst all those shops, TCW shined. Since my first visit, Phillip made me feel right at home. Nothing but knowledge and patience is what I got. I was never oversold. Actually, I was told not to spend money in certain unnecessary things. TCW is by my house and I feel like stopping by and hanging every time I drive by it. The crew is just fun to kick it with. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. First guy I encountered knew the answer to most of my questions and deferred to another staff member for those he didn’t. The mechanic helped me work around a potentially expensive problem and suggested a very cheap secondary option. I thought this was great, because other bike shops had not mentioned the cheaper option and led me to believe I was going to have to pay a lot more. Went for the cheaper fix and it has worked perfectly. Shows honesty and character to make less money to make a customer happy. Thanks for saving me a bunch. Great to have a really nice bike shop in southwest Austin. Highly recommended.

Decided to stop by Texas Cycle Werks after having lunch near by to check out their selection and I was really pleased to have met the shop owner Phillip. He took the time to educate me on his product offering and what would work best for my type of riding and the area trails and roads. I was impressed with his in-​depth knowledge and business etiquette. I have visited several stores and shops in the area and hands down this is the best of all.
I will recommend Texas Cycle Works to all friends looking to purchase bikes, accessories and service (tune ups and installations). It doesn’t get better than this: locally owned, honest, helpful and never pushing for a sale. Thanks Phillip, I look forward to being your customer for all my biking needs.

My husband & I bought 2 bikes last year from TCW. My husbands was stolen recently and we needed the serial # to file a report with the police.
The owner was less than helpful & couldn’t be bothered. After checking with several bike shops in the area it was standard procedure to have the serial# recorded before the bike left the shop. This also helps locate the customer if recalls take place. The upshot is when we purchase another bike for my husband it will NOT be from Texas Cycle Works.

Phillip and his crew are amazing. They helped me pick out a bike for my son and was able to answer all my questions. They are not just informed on one certain type of bike like most bike shops. Not once did I feel they were pushing the most expensive bike on me. They seemed like they really cared that I got a great bike for my seven year old! Thanks guys.

my rear disc brakes were acting up, and I brought it over to these guys to get it checked up. They said it needed to be cleaned. Instead of telling me that they’d do it, this guy told me I should just do it since it’s very do-​able and I’d be saving money.
long story short, my discs are now cleaned and working.

Needed to get a replacement tire for my wife’s cruise around bike and he helped out a ton in finding something right for the use. Also love that they carry Giant since I just picked one up from a friend. The SE «Big Ripper» they had also stole my heart from the BMW days. Looking forward to doing some additional biz with the crew.
