The Bug Master

Unlike some experiences a few customers had and shared it here on Unilocal regarding bad service — I fortunately received wonderful service and the technician, Marcus, was on time and kept in contact with me throughout the process. He showed up on time and I’d swear that he either just hit the lotto or his divorce went through because he was smiling ear to ear and was in a great mood. He fixed my flea problem much to the delight of my two cocker spaniels. I’m sorry that some people didn’t receive the same service but I did and I am extremely grateful for it. Peace out.

They have always been very thorough. They show up on time. Customer service responds quickly. Very happy with my service.

It’s been a rough road trying to get this company to take care of our problem. Unfortunately this is the company my condos decided to use to try to remove roof rats from our attic. Since the beginning, they have missed apts now three times. They make the apt and then just don’t show up! Call 2 hours later to move my apt from 8 am Monday to 8 am Friday.
Clearly they don’t care about showing up when they say they will, nor do they care if they take care of the problem in a reasonable amount of time. Go to J&J pest control. I can highly recommend you NOT using Bugmasters BUT instead J&J is ALWAYS on time and ALWAYS does great work.

Bugmaster gets the job done! Pleasant people on the phone and the technician, Brandon, is very knowledgeable in searching out and getting rid of the bugs! I’ve been using them for almost 20 years for annual termite control and this year started on a contract for ant control. Boom, no more ants!

I had some issues, not with the work, (they did get rid of the rodents quickly). It was the billing and follow up. I was contacted by a manager who resolved the issues. I appreciate that they took the time to remedy this. I appreciate businesses that take their customers concerns seriously and act on them. Thank you.

A Bug Master truck tried to run me over on 6^th and Congress in Austin this afternoon. The men inside the truck screamed at me, even though the «walking» sign was clearly lit and I had the right-​of-​way. I will never, ever hire these people.

Update from my review 3 years ago. We moved into a new house in a new subdivision and were inundated with pest control companies wanting our business. Some asked who we used and what we paid and said they would beat the price. Really? That’s someone I would not want to use. We stayed with The Bug Master and our new technician is absolutely wonderful. He is respectful of our home and is as professional as one can be. And, their service WORKS! We have had no pest problems at all and I expected some because of all of the native land being disturbed to build new homes. No scorpions or other critters came into our home. I highly recommend The Bug Master.

Tyrone is always pleasant and professional. I have called a couple times in between my quarterly treatments and someone is out within a day or two to address my concerns. I trust Bug Master to maintain a safe home for my pets and me, while keeping the pests away.

I do not know who Bugmaster is. They have faxed me relentlessly in the past. It appears somehow they bought a list to market to without my knowledge. About 4 months, they faxed me constantly everyday. I called them about 30 times and asked them to stop. It did stop for awhile. Now in the last 4 days they have faxed me I counted 35 times. I keep calling them to ask them to stop and they tell me they do not know who is faxing me. It seems obvious a marketing company has bought some list and is soliciting to whoever will receive the fax. V. V.

This is the best pest control I have ever had the pleasure to come into my home been using them for 15 years or so. The best part is no bugs, THANKS BUG MASTERS.

I’ve been using The Bug Master for at least 5 years in two different homes-​using both the green service and traditional services. I am always impressed with their technician, John, who is professional, knowledgeable, courteous and on-​time.
The best part is NO BUGS!!! I live in a very old pier and beam house in Central Austin and am always surprised that I RARELY see any bugs. I know the service I pay for includes both inside pest control and around the house outside (which is extensive and works well-we’ve crawled under the house many times and found nothing scary under there!).
Bugmaster does a quarterly service where they send me emails to let me know I’m on their schedule and confirm appointments. They warrant their work and will come out more often if I see a spider in the house.
Previously, I tried at least three other pest control companies – all left me an unsatisfied customer.

Bug Master has always taken care of us each time we’ve called. Most recently, with all of the bugs that we’ve had, they came out an additional two times at no cost to take are of the problem. They’ve always been professional and knowledgeable with where needed to be sprayed and addressed. Joey is the one that I’ve liked the best because he does an extensive job spraying both inside and out. I’ve had others that didn’t do as well and it showed, but Joey goes above and beyound which we are truly greatful.

They are timely, knowledgeable, affordable, friendly and get the job done. Johny is good to work with too.

After using them for almost a year, I fired them because we had just as many bugs as ever. We had scorpions, spiders, almost everything we had before we called them, although, in all honesty, we probably had fewer of them. Still… We expected them to get rid of the bugs, and they didn’t. They don’t actually look at your house to see where the problems are — they just use the broad brush attempt and spray everywhere and hope that takes care of it. I am going with a smaller, family-​owned business next time.

Yuck termites in my fence post. Reviewed Unilocal and decided to get quotes from several companies. The Bug Master turned out the best price and they explained how to compare the companies by how much Termidor they use when treating. The service guy was on time and did outstanding work. Very pleased with their work.

I wanted to clarify that the disoriented bugs that make it past the perimeter of termidor appear drunk/​slow on the rare occasions I see them and the rare occasion that they are still alive. I have a HUGE tree over my house and once they treated I have only seen 4 tree roaches in the span of almost 3 years, impressive.

Managing a restaurant and writing a review of a pest control company is a bit like a politician reviewing an escort service – people might get a bad impression.
The fact is, bugs are often a fact of life in the restaurant business, and it makes sense to implement an ongoing eradication and control program to complement cleanliness and safe food storage practices. A while back, when two buildings in our block of attached row-​structures were undergoing extensive renovation, a large colony of crawling things that used to live undisturbed in the walls or floors of those places set out looking for a new home. Some of them found us. For the first time in 9 years we had a bug problem – to be specific, German Roaches.
We had long ago engaged a large nationally advertised firm for monthly treatments, and they cranked it up a notch, doing a couple of super fumigation sorties, using pest control weapons of mass bugstruction, but it did not work. The little suckers kept showing up.
We dumped them and signed on with The Bug Master. Tim, our Pest Control Consultant arrived and did a THOROUGH inspection of the premise, and its attached buildings. He examined our secured food storage, cleaning products, closet spaces and of course the kitchen. After a complete review, he recommended and we implemented an intensive treatment program and periodic followups.
The treatments are done after hours and with zero disruption to business. The products used are safe and effective and toxic only to critters. The treatment has been totally invisible. Like the bugs.
The result? No bugs. Not a one since about 3 days after the first treatment. Bugs now cross the street rather than walk near our building. Bug Master has put some kind of anti-​bug force field in place I think.
Whether you are a commercial or a residential customer with pest issues, give these guys a call. They are fast, clean, safe and effective, and reasonably priced. They have «escorted» the critters off our premises.
