Nicely done Momo! Would definitely recommend this! Would love to try other things in menu as well!

The food is golden the guy takes his time with preparing your order I wanted for my delicious food and I was upset cause I finished it in less than ten minutes I wanted to to go back but I decided to wait till the next day! So I’m here once again trying something new! Try this food truck if you want some quality food!

BESTMOMOSINTOWN!!! The guys working there are awesome and funny. Will definitely be back, and will bring my whole family. As a note, their hours are 5−10pm Monday-Sat, and they are closed on Sundays. Our favorite was the fried beef momo.

Delicious momos! I suggest the meat momos, pan fried or steamed! I didn’t prefer the veggie momos.

Loved it. It is as good as momo can be! I tried the steam beef momo and I was more than pleased.

Momos, extra hot sauce, fried rice, cool breeze… Bliss. Never thought I’d even try this place but turned out to be a gem. Give it a try!

Awesome food! A quaint little trailer but worth the travel. Try the fried momo! Be careful about the hot sauce. It is really spicy.

Loved the momos, it is similar to Indian Chinese. Their hot sauce is better than fire in the hole! Chow mein is very good as well.

Order the steamed meat momos. Best dumplings I’ve ever had, way better than any dim sum place.

Open late, awesome boom box, and even better momo. Taking hints from a few friends who spent time in Nepal, I understand that this is as surprisingly authentic as it gets, stateside. I will be back. The hot sauce that comes with the momos should not be underestimated. If you frequent South Lamar, take 15 minutes and stop here and expand your horizons!

Amen! After having spent time living in Nepal a few years ago, I never thought I would find an authentic momo again. And then — the Tibetan Momo truck! We got the steamed beef momo, they were fantastic. A really unassuming and authentic Tibetan truck, complete with 80s rock blasting from the boom box. the food is legit, service is friendly, great little location. Love.

The food was delicious and affordable. Between four people we split the pan fried momo, vegetarian steamed momo, chicken fried rice, and chicken chowmein. We also ordered a couple of tingmos. It was plenty of food. The stuffing in the vegetarian momos was very similar to what is inside samosas so that was a pleasant surprise. The guy was very friendly and helpful. He didn’t charge us until after all the food came out. I’m glad he got an updated board because the hours on the original one was wrong! He’s not open during the day at all. His new hours are M-Sat 5 – 10 pm and closed on Sundays.

This place was awesome! But first I’ll set the stage… Showed up at 9:47 totally starving trying to get to Aimee’s before they closed at 10. Made it, but the guy at Aimee’s politely told me they were closed for the night. Tibetan Momo’s sign said they closed at 9, but the guy there opened the window and asked if I wanted anything. Yes, I did. Got the Veg Momos and Beef Chow Mein. Both were excellent and hit the spot. Friendly service and staying open late were a much appreciated bonus. I’ll be back.

Granted I took it to go and had to wait to eat till my toddler went to bed but the momos got cold and were a bit chewy. Momos are like potstickers. The filling was tasty and the chow mein(noodles) were pretty decent. I would do takeout from here again. Next time I’ll try to eat it hot.

The food was excellent. I had steamed momo which are dumplings and some chicken chili. Both were quite tasty. The dumplings came with a sauce to dip them in, there were about 10 dumplings in my meal and they were nice and plump. The chicken chili was not like a Texans version of chili, but a concoction of tender slices of chicken mixed with jalapeños, tomatoes and various spices. The staff was really kind as well. They were closing for the night when I walked up, it took about 20 minutes to make the momos from scratch. And while my friend and I say in the courtyard eating they brought out some of the chicken chili to taste. They have really great food and really nice people. All in all an excellent meal for $ 7.

First, for the uninitiated(of which I was one until about 20 minutes ago): momo are dumplings. Now we both know. Tibetan Momo has many of the things that I look for in a food truck: — The menu is short(don’t try to do too many things in a small truck) — The food isn’t something I could get in a restaurant nearby. As far as I know, this is the only Tibetan spot in South Austin… — It’s cheap! I got the steamed momo, on the recommendation of the person in the truck. I split my order of 8– 4 beef, 4 veggie. It took them just about 5 minutes to heat them up, and they served them in a styrofoam container with some raw shredded lettuce/carrot mix and sauce(I got a hot and a mild, to try both). The beef was a relatively solid little meatball with herbs and garlic and/or onion inside a nicely chewy dumpling skin. It was greasy, but in a good way.(This is food that you’d like to eat after a night of drinking. Still good when sober, though!) The veggie was squishier, with peas and perhaps potatoes and curry, similar to the filling of a samosa. Same yummy dumpling skin. Not quite as greasy. The hot sauce was HOT, but flavorful. The mild was great– maybe vinegar based? Not the soy-based sauce I’m used to with dumplings. The shredded raw salad on the side was fine, but unnecessary. It was just a shredded lettuce salad from a bag. I say, Tibetan Momo, save yourselves the salad money– that’s not what I’m looking for in a momo. All of this for $ 6.99. Very filling dinner. They also had a couple of stir fries and a steamed bun on the menu. I’ll be back to try it all!
