One of my favorite sushi spots and I can be a sushi snob. The staff is friendly, the food is great and the price is perfect for my twice a week sushi obsession.

Sushi is the focus here and it wasn’t very fresh. The appetizers were good though — basically anything not raw was pretty okay.

Best sushi I’ve had in Austin and I’m so thrilled to have found this place! It’s delicious and prices are affordable. Service was excellent, even though it was really busy and they seemed under staffed, everyone there was so friendly and it wasn’t a long wait for the sushi rolls once we ordered. And I really appreciated how big the rolls were, between my husband and I, we couldn’t finish 4 rolls! And I HIGHLY recommend the Las Vegas roll! I will be visiting again soon!

Got takeout on a Saturday night. Ordered the sexy roll, william cannon roll, and a spicy tuna roll. Comparable to grocery store sushi but just a bit more expensive. Meh.

I Ate here once food was awsome! but whenever I went I saw I guess was the owner because he was going around each station managing everyone until he yelled at one of the hostess it was very unprofessional you could hear him yelling his language at her and it was in plain sight! It was a horrible experience not coming here again. l

My favorite sushi in Austin! The calamari is fantastic. There isn’t anything on the menu that isn’t stellar… bulgogi, specialty rolls, plain Jane rolls, miso, salads, tempura, yakitori, sushi… all top-notch. The service is always on point, and the food comes quickly.

We got seated as soon as we came in the door. Waited 15 minutes just for a waitress to come over to take our drink orders so by that time we are ready to order our food. Food came out really fast and it was delicious! Definitely will come back.

I get my sushi fix here quite often. Yanagi has a great happy hour with amazing portions for the price! Staff is always paying attention to your needs and sushi chef’s know what there doing to create a mouth savoring experience. My favorites on the happy hour are the blowfish, monkey balls, and crunchy roll. There regular menu has everything you could want too. If you happen to be south of downtown or don’t want the crowds, make the drive to yanagi. You won’t be disappointed.

Can a vegetarian eat at a sushi joint? You can here. Excellent tofu rice bowl. They have a decent selection of appetizers and entrees for those of us animal friendly and powered by veggies. It’s goooood.

We went here for lunch and loved everything we had. Pot stickers, edamame, and salads for starters. All came as expected. The ginger dressing on the salad was definitely homemade and had a bit of sweet flavor too it. Loved it! We tried the Las Vegas, Crunchy, and Tiger rolls. The server was super helpful in recommending rolls for us to match our preferences as it was or first visit and they have a full menu. They even accommodated a change to a roll for me. Everything came out quick and exactly as ordered. Price was pretty standard for sushi. The restaurant was clean and comfortable, team members were all friendly(even the sushi chefs from behind the counter)! We will definitely be back!

Only gave them 2 stars because the service i recieved from my server tommy was great and the food wasnt half bad. However the owners were out on the floor yelling at the servers in front of customers yelling for no apparent reason in whatever language it is they speak. This isnt the first time ive seen them do this its just the first time i have Unilocaled about it. They dont go out of their way for the customers and out the poor servers in such bad predicaments i feel bad for everyone that has to work there. Take your yelling to the back at least be professional.

Food and service was spot on! I ordered the Spider roll, and a cup of Miso, served by a very polite, and attentive waiter.

Okay… So we FINALLY went back to meet a friend that swore we had a quirk of an experience previously. She was right! We had the Japanese Ceviche, which was a wonderful selection of 6 nice slices of sashimi, seasoned with sesame oil and something a little sweet, topped with seaweed salad. Then we had scallops and a couple rolls. All were very FRESH, FIRM and excellent in flavor and texture! We had challenged ourselves to eat for under $ 40 too… and we succeeded(of course we didn’t have any alcohol)! Glad we went back.

Service is good, food is great! Sashimi combination is delish! My fiancé says he could eat every night, oh well, not in our budget honey! ;) Yakisoba very tasty, would get again. Spicy garlic edamame was«wow» good! You need to try it! And all enjoyable with a bottle of saké :) Enjoy!

You’re not left with many affordable, good tasting Japanese & Korean restaurants in this area. If you’re either craving sushi or Korean food, you can find this place pretty reliable. The service here is good, and I usually get the dol ssot bibim bap(hot rice pot with vegetables, beef, and egg). It really hits the spot. The price isn’t amazing, but that’s expected here in Austin!

I visited this place for the first time today. It was one of the few sushi places that was open for late lunch in my hood. Service was great and the ambience was alright. But right now I’m suffering from some awful indigestion from this place. We ordered a couple of miso soups and the Idaka(baby octopus) app to start. The miso was standard. But oh… the Idaka. The presentation was so unappetizing– a circle of baby neon pink octupi around a pile of daikon and pickles. When the waitress brought them out, I watched these little guys wiggle to the motion of her bouncy steps. The little octupi still danced around the daikon bonfire as she set the plate down on our table. I had to stop to take a photo. Funny enough for Instgram– but not appealing enough to eat. Despite my reservations, I shoveled the little octopus into my mouth whole. It was sadly overcooked and super chewy. I’m preggo(again) and was limited to eating cooked rolls. So we ordered the Tarantula roll(a dressed up spider roll), and some crunchy roll with calamari tempura as well as crab on the inside. Both rolls were covered in eel sauce. I’ve had sushi all around the world and am familiar with the smokey, savory and slightly sweet flavor of eel sauce. But something about their eel sauce is incredibly off and sickeningly sweet. Not good. The tarantula was also loosely rolled. As soon as I picked up a piece, it unraveled like a magic carpet of sticky grains. I don’t think I will return. **Update after 7 hrs: Avoid this place! I’m downgrading my review to one star. We got good poisoning from eating here! :-(

What we got: Agedashi Tofu, Bulgogi, and Dolsat Bibimbap. We came here after a workout not to expect much but we loves all of our food. The service was great and they allow you to substitute white rice for brown rice without an extra charge. Prices are reasonable and portions are enough. We will definitely be coming back!
