Yogurt Planet

I LOVE Yogurt Planet. They have the biggest selection of toppings and flavors of froyo in Austin, hands down (and believe me, I’ve been to a lot of froyo places). They have a large selection of fresh and frozen fruit, and Ghirardelli syrups, which are my personal favorite. They also have high quality chocolate covered pomegranate seeds, caramels, as well as many other toppings. You don’t feel like you’re getting cheap candy here at all. The service isn’t super friendly, but they never let their toppings run low, even when it gets close to closing time. If it wasn’t so far from me, this would be the only froyo place I’d frequent!

The yogurt is fantastic and their topping selection is plenty.
The place is always clean, and the staff is friendly.
Minus 1 star as I wish they had more outdoor seating, and it would be nice if they took amex.

Just started working near the Triangle and I am very excited to spend my summer eating frozen yogurt lunches! This place has a wide variety of flavors, including my favorite, red velvet, and any topping you could possibly want… healthy and not so healthy! Delicious and moderately priced!

Good stuff. Nice variety of toppings and flavors. Great for a bad for you lunch.

Absolutely delicious. Lots of yummy flavors of froyo & an abundance of toppings. Friendly staff. Only bad thing I noticed was that the whipped cream was not kept cold & was warm to the touch. Yuck. Luckily, I didn’t want whipped cream that badly anyways. Thanks for keeping those calories out of my mouth.

I go here almost very day but only b/​c there’s such limited froyo options near UT campus. The yogurt is very inconsistent — sometimes it’s mediocre, sometimes it’s horrible! If you go towards their closing time (aka anytime after 9:30) the froyo is very very watery. Also, they don’t really change up their flavors or topping varieties. and it’s super overpriced for froyo

Decent, but not great. The toppings bar was incredible but the yogurt quality was definitely lacking compared to other places I have visited in the past. The selection was good but the yogurt was a little watery, not too bad, just noticeable. I get the sense that we might have caught them on a bad night but it was upsetting due to how great the topping bar was.

Your standard yogurt joint. Serve yourself! Pull that trigger, fill that bowl, add those toppings. Feel like you are ridiculous for providing a tip because you just did everything for yourself and they stood there watching you and did nothing.
So yeah. Would I go back? I guess if I were in the area and was craving frozen yogurt. But there are closer places and the lack of service and expectation of a tip? No thank you.

Soo good I been to many other yogurt places all over the cou try and this place has the most delicious flavors not to mention they taste as good as they sound. It will be hard to go to other yogurt places now. The topping are great as well like the lychee and cheese cake bites. Yum!

After frequenting Yo So Cool, Fro Yoo, and Yogertz, this place is just not as good to me anymore. The vanilla yogurt wasn’t that strong of a flavor and the consistency was half melted. Now this place is usually pretty good so maybe it was just an off day.

I’m a big fan of places where you can get your own yogurt, apply your own toppings and just pay by weight I wish i had one near me.
This one had about 10 flavors. Peanut butter, toasted marshmallow, taro, strawberry, original and quite a few others. Unless I can sample something, I’m sticking to my tried and true original. Why not let your customers sample around?
Cheap. Plenty of parking. Staff was friendly enough.

Yum. Yum. Yum. I go out of my way to get this yogurt over other places. I will pass 10 other yogurt shops for this one. I even venture into student-​land to go here. Why is it so good? I don’t know, I think they put magic in it.
Their machines are always working, staff is always friendly. Plenty of seating and parking.

Hehehe I LOVE me some yogurt! I think I like yogurt a little too much and after I tried this place, I couldn’t stop ranting to the cashier how much I loved it. This place is seriously the best yogurt EVER (Yeah I just used all caps). I even went back for seconds! They offer a lovely variety of flavors but nothing tops the taro. It was heaven in my mouth!
If you love yogurt as much as I do (impossible) do yourself a favor and go try yogurt planet! Yum yum in my tum tum ;)

Love this place! The simplicity and ease of this self service model is exceptional, particularly when dealing with small children.
There is a plethora of delicious toppings to choose from, even for Celiac customers. The staff always dotes on the kiddos, which I appreciate, so I’ ll be back every week as usual.

I was in the area for work and wanted yogurt so I drove around and found YP. I loved their flavor selection. The Angel Food cake was delicious as was the strawberry and who can go wrong with cookies and cream? The place was clean and they were courteous. I am very picky about my yogurt, but am happy I found another place I actually like. They have a location in the Domain which is good to know. I will for sure be back!

The single best frozen yogurt ever in the history of… frozen yogurt… is the mint here. The only downside is that they don’t always have it, but seriously – is there a better base to put every chocolatey candy ever made on top than mint? No. There is none. Period. Ever. And if you think otherwise, you’re simply wrong.
White chocolate is a close second for the title of Greatest FroYo [dramatic pause] in the Woooorld, but I’ve only ever had that at TCBY. If this place ever has white chocolate AND mint on the same day? Oh, yes. Heaven.
I like this little stand. It’s perhaps the cleanest frozen yogurt joint with the freshest toppings I’ve ever seen. There’s a billion toppings, too – everything from mochi bits to fresh fruit to cereal and candy. There’s even a roaming can of whipped cream on the counter in case you feel like completely killing any of the health benefits off for good. I’m pretty sure they have the biggest blackberries I’ve ever seen, too. I’m not entirely sure that’s all too natural, but they at least taste good. Oh, and their decision to carry bite-​size mini sour gummi worms over the full-​length variety was quite the genius move. I hate having to bite my toppings into bits.
Anyway, it sounds like I need to try the pomegranate, too. I loooooove pomegranate.

Lots of great flavors. I especially love the Strawberry Lemonade Sorbet and Non fat Snickerdoodle. Also, lots and lots of delicious toppings. Animal crackers are always a fun treat to see. The cheesecake and brownie were very soft and the fruit looked very fresh. That is saying a lot considering we came in 30 minutes before closing.
Oh yeah and open late! Till 11pm on weekdays. This is a big deal for me and my roommate as we try to find places to satisfy our late night junk food craves.
It’s not a huge discount but they have happy hour 3 – 7 M-​Th — 10% off. Why not save a little cash.
One weird thing: Some of the yogurts say non-​fat, but then have calories from fat… hmm… how does that work?!

The strawberry lemonade soft serve nailed it. The gummy bears on it were a great addition but let’s not forget about the fresh fruits that were also lovely and the little clear balls in the flavors of strawberry, lychee, and passionfruit were AWESOME! They were like light little juicy explosions that were flavor packed and possibly from another planet.
That planet called AMAZING!
It was ultra clean and fresh in this store. It is in the Triangle. The restrooms were clean as well.
You can sample all flavors and then commit. The cups are weighed at the end and then you can go on your planetary journey of yogurt.
2 of us spent near 8 dollars but we got a lot and it was well worth it!
Defy gravity and bolt over to this Y Planet. You will like the other life forms that are satisfied around you :).

I can’t believe I still haven’t written a review on Yogurt Planet. I absolutely love this place and no other fro-​yo place in Austin compares. The fruit here is always incredibly fresh and the establishment itself is always spotless. To be honest, I’ve mastered the art of making the perfect fro-​yo at this place. I always get pistachio flavored loaded up with fruit and fruity pebbles. Sometimes they don’t have my flavor, which makes me sad, but mango and birthday cake is also good.
One time, the lady told me that mine was the most expensive fro-​yo she’s ever weighed. :)

YP have the best juicy balls. Seriously, they have a topping called juicy balls. What do you think I was talking about?
Since moving away from Austin, I’ve missed this place. The cleanliness, the easy vibe, great flavors, and fresh toppings. I love how YP have a great blend of tart and sweet flavors. I’m a big fan of their pistachio, strawberry, and original. Flavors get switched out every now and then, and if your flavor isn’t there, there are other flavors that are great substitutes.
Toppings are always fresh, refilled, and abundant for all customers. Some yogurt places use frozen fruits as their toppings but YP uses fresh fruit. They have a wide range of toppings that is suited for anyone. A new one that I saw on my last trip was juicy balls. They have a lot of different fruit flavors. They are the size of small tapioca balls, and when you pop them in your mouth, the flavored juice squirts out. Wow, sounds dirty. It’s like a juiced filled water balloon for your mouth. It’s different and is something to try.
I wish there was a Yogurt Planet in Houston. Thank goodness there is Yogurtland which is as similar. So, if you’re in Austin, try this. If you’re in Houston, try Yogurtland.
