This is a cute little place, it does get crowded at least for breakfast and because it is small, gets really noisy. Food was good, nothing extraordinary thou. Portions are generous and service is good, our waitress was very friendly.

I always look forward to eating here. And posted very positive reviews. However, today I was very disappointed my $ 15.00 omelet was seriously overcooked it was almost burnt on the bottom and way too much cheese. My BIG problem is that my husband and I sat at the counter and I was watching the two guys cook all the food(which I love b/c it says a lot about an establishment when they let customers see the food prep) but what I saw made me nauseous. The younger male cook walked over to where the ice is held and put his drinking cup right into it, I watched him finish his water and than put that same cup in the same ice the waitress was using for my soda. Gross! Next I watched the same cook play on his cell phone for a few seconds and then pick up food to prepare with his bare unwashed hands. Cell phones have more germs than the bottom of shoes. It will be my last visit there. Very grossed out!

This place is hands down the best breakfast on the island. My wife and I eat here all the time. Their omelets are massive and absolutely to die for. If you eat at the breakfast bar be prepared to get your stones busted by the owner Rick or his son Eric. Chances are you will have to wait a few minutes for a table but I will tell you it’s worth it. Make sure not to ask any stupid questions. If you do your question will be written down on their«dumb questions of 2015» chalk board. Too funny. Also, don’t ask if you can walk out in the pier. This has become their motto, «no you may not». This place is the best!

Old Avalon charm, this place hasn’t changed since the first time I went here 20 years ago! Great food, grilled cinnamon rolls are to die for. The seating is a little tight because it’s such a small place.

Stopped here for a quick breakfast on our way to the beach. It’s a tiny place, so try to get there early or come with a smaller party. It was two of us, so we sat at the bar. The service was quick and our food arrived in no time. It was great to be able to watch them cook it too. We had the Taylor ham breakfast sandwich — it was on the smaller side but super filling and delicious. We also had the«Eastern Omelet» with a side of scrapple and homefries. The omelet was delicious and prepared very well. Homefries and scrapple were cooked perfectly too. Even though it’s on the boardwalk, this place is off the beaten path for Avalon.

Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. My wife and I make the Fishin Pier Grille a weekly visit. We enjoy the variety of food options, including the pancakes, French toast with fruit and omelets loaded with meat. Love the casual atmosphere, the friendly staff, and the prompt service. It’s not about fancy, it’s not about prestige, it’s about good food, comfort and smiling faces. Our weekend would not be the same without a visit to this cozy breakfast location!

If you want to complain about this place because you think it’s expensive, don’t go so others that appreciate great breakfast food don’t have to wait longer. You ll wait 20 minutes or so for this hidden gem of a place, but boy is it worth it…, every minute. Deliciousness on a plate with opportunities for fresh squeezed orange juice! Pancakes are light and yummy; omelettes stuffed with a variety of things so savory you must finish it although the grilled cinnamon roll already stuffed you. The breakfast potatoes are better than some you get in a gourmet restaurant for dinner. What a find. What a staff. Real people cookin great breakfast. OMG delish. If you’re in Avalon healing your wounds, give yourself a special treat and let them feed you.

Flat out the best breakfast on the island. The staff is great — the food is prepared quickly and tasty. The pancakes are huge. The omelets are enormous and come with tons of filling options. Home fries are simple and prepared well. If you like sausage it’s the tastiest one around. They serve fresh squeezed oj and probably their biggest gem is the grilled cinnamon bun. Get here early because there aren’t many tables and ask Dumb questions — they love them

I’ve been coming to 7 mile Island for 25 years… can’t believe I missed this great breakfast place on the Avalon boardwalk! The blueberry pancakes, which I normally think are boring, where fabulous. I wish I had the batter recipe! The S.M.C omelette(spinach mushroom cheese) off the regular menu was fabulous. Substitute feta cheese, but they will charge you extra. The mushrooms were particularly yummy. Notice that all the special items were more expensive. The only thing I didn’t like was the coffee. Yuck! But they kindly substituted tea for me. Thank goodness it’s air-conditioned, because it’s a very hot morning! We will be back!

The best place for a hot, fresh breakfast on the island. Don’t waste your time anywhere else. Things to know: Get in before 9 — it’s small and wait times can run over an hour on weekends Cash only You can’t go wrong on the menu(savory or sweet) You won’t need lunch, so it’s perfect before a day of beach lounging My go-to is the jalapeño, sausage, tomato, and cheese omelet, but when I’m craving fruit the peach pancakes are delicious. Fresh ingredients and the meal comes out piping hot. It seriously doesn’t get any better.

One of our fav breakfast spots! And while«you may not» walk out on the pier, there’s no need. Go no further than the tiny 20+/- seat dining room. The food is delicious breakfast lunch fare. A shore staple, pork roll & cheese(with egg for breakfast) on a kaiser roll, can’t be beat anywhere. Tons of specials, friendly folks & try to keep off the«stupid questions» board! Act like you know!

Maybe the most under the radar breakfast option in Avalon, and certainly underrated. The Fishing Pier Grill is a great option for reasonably priced food. Omelets are great, home fries are very good and the service is solid. The only complaint is the restaurant itself is VERY small. Literally a shack on the boardwalk, so if you don’t get there early, be prepared to wait. One of my favorite breakfast options in Avalon for sure.

Greasy… is the only word that comes to mind… and watch out for substitutions… we asked for goat cheese instead of American in our omelets and were told that there would be an extra charge. We assumed $ 2 at the most… well… it was $ 6 each.

Good traditional breakfast. Get the scrapple. And the iced cinamon bun — ask to get it grilled as an appetizer.

What looks at first glance like a small shack on the Avalon boardwalk is actually home to what may easily be some of the best breakfast you can get in Avalon. Fishin’ Pier Grille has a surprisingly large selection of breakfast items for such a small place, and they actually do a good job cooking it. The pancakes at Fishin’ Pier are some of the best on the shore, and you can order blueberry pancakes, banana pancakes, strawberry pancakes, and even uncommon ones such as peach, blackberry, and even peanut butter pancakes. The omelettes are also very well-made, and the home fries are delicious. The prices are also very agreeable, and the owners are very friendly. Unfortunately, even such a great place like this has its drawbacks. The size is the biggest of the bunch — every year I go down to Avalon with a dozen friends, and we all eat at Fishin’ Pier. Due to the small size, we are often left waiting outside for room, which, combined with how busy the place usually is(combined with the fact that they do not take reservations), often means we end up waiting for almost an hour for our seats, if not longer. In other words: NOT so great for large groups. Furthermore, because of how busy they tend to be, you may occasionally end up waiting quite a bit for your food. On top of that, they ONLY accept cash, so be sure to bear that in mind if you stop by. Even with the drawbacks, I find that Fishin’ Pier is one of the most overlooked places in Avalon, and definitely a must-see for anybody in the area, tourist or resident. I’m definitely returning next time I head down to Avalon.

Love the fishing pier! I almost don’t want to write this review because I feel like it’s a hidden Avalon gem and I would love for it to stay that way. Hidden at the end of the Avalon boardwalk, the fishing pier is a top-notch breakfast stop. Make sure you go early, because there’s always a line of people waiting to eat. Order straight off the menu and don’t try to get creative with their already printed menu. «No you may not!» and they mean it! The food is great. I’ve gotten something different every time, pancakes, omelette and I’ve never been disappointed! And they’re Penn State fans-what more could a girl ask for?
