BOBISTHEMAN! He made my Birthday and my Catalina trip beyond amazing !! Right as we waked in he started putting out a tray of cheese and crackers, and wished me a Happy Birthday! If you are on the island, definitely go here! Great IPAS on tap. Thank you Bob

Straight bar with a gay bar name. Remodeled and much better attitude than in the past. THE place to watch the game. A good mix of locals and visitors. Most Crackheads and losers have-re-located to the Marlin club.

JL’s is the locals bar in Avalon. My boyfriend has been coming to Catalina for 30 years and since he was of drinking age, JL’s has been the spot. The bartender Bobby is always on point, pours solid stiff drinks, and is a good guy. They have a dartboard and two pool tables as well, and a new machine where you can pay to pick the music you wanna play which is pretty cool. I definitely recommend this place to be your last stop of the night, it really kicks off around 11 or later!

Fun place! We wanted a great place to watch Monday night football and this place didn’t disappoint. We picked up pizza a couple doors down and got a table to watch the game. The drinks were great, the atmosphere was engaging. Loved the raffle ticket drawings and the fun crowd that was there. We will be back!

great lil sports bar on the island! came in for sunday football before our departure and had no problem finding a TV to catch our team playing. tons of high quality TVs all around for you to choose from. beer on tap was ICECOLD! win. they don’t have their own kitchen, but they have no qualms with bar patrons bringing in outside food. darts, pool table, and classic arcade games available in the back. many football fans popped in… no friction… just positive happy football fans! my kind of sunday!

spent some of our weekend here, catching up on football games. couldnt find any other bars with as many tvs! there are pool tables, darts, and even video games(photo hunt, anyone?) reasonably priced drinks, friendly barkeep. free wifi. we ordered mr. ning’s two days in a row while we were watching the games at the locker. yum! if we lived in avalon, this might just be our spot. :)

I stayed at Hotel Atwater across the street, and this place kept me up all night with the noise. However, it sounded like the best party I have ever heard in my life, I was almost tempted to come down and join in the ruckus. Maybe next time! The place redeemed itself the next day during NFL Sunday. Lots of big flat screens to watch multiple games, and very friendly bartenders. The iciest glasses of beers I’ve had on the whole island. What more could I want?! I won’t be staying at Hotel Atwater again, but I will for sure come into the Locker Room next time!

Nice Sports bar! Mostly locals who were very friendly as well as the bartenders who were cutting up having fun. Great TV coverage with big screens everywhere, pool, Foosball and other games. Good dive bar which is our favorite kind.

Definitely the Dive Bar of Avalon but for the purpose of watching a game this place was a lifesaver with their big screen TVs. The have a few pool tables that people were playing a game on but most people come here to watch a game… or drink… or both. No food but the bartenders were really cool with us bringing in outside food and even gave us some recommendations for Chinese across the street or pizza just a few doors down.

Good place to grab a beer and watch a game on the island. Didn’t knock my socks off with the selection of draft beer, but it was definitely a good place to chill out. Pool tables in the back, and the bartender was pretty funny. The crowd in there was pretty small but definitely nice while I visited.

Fun spot, was the only of four places we went still serving after 10pm in the winter. They have two pool tables for $ 1 per game. They serve normal pints and chalices. Several beers on tap, but not really my kind of selection – no IPAs. They did have bottles of sierra, though. Lots of sports figure pictures line pretty much every inch of the walls, except the parts of be walls covered by several TVs, so there’s always something to check out.

The best place on the island to hang out and watch sports. They have at least 12 flat screens + the NFL network. Ideal for Sunday football. While most will hit up Luau Larry’s, the experts know that The Locker Room is the most fun and less filled with vomiting tourists. They have pool and darts as well.

Another locals bar for sure. I actually thought the place was pretty decent, it was a pretty big place, and they too have live music on the weekends. We came in for a few drinks and to buy a t-shirt before our dinner reservations. The service was slow, and yet it wasn’t even busy. What irked me the most is a few of the locals wouldn’t leave us alone to look around and enjoy the old school pictures of athletes and whatnot that adorn the walls. They kept trying to get our business, and sell us on stuff we didn’t want to do, or have time to do, and they also happened to be three sheets to the wind, so they kept asking us over and over again where we were from, and kept offering us the deal of a lifetime, only to keep changing the price on us. We left after our second drink, we just wanted to enjoy ourselves not agree to give anyone our business. Boo! :(

Obviously, if you want to do the Catalina thing, stay on the«strip.» I purposely wanted to find a «local bar», and we discovered this bar early on on our trip. It’s perfect if you’re looking for a LOCAL bar, not one of those, on the beach, bougie, fancy bars. So you get what you expect. My boyfriend and I love to play games, and play pool, and drinks were dirt cheap compared to the strip, so we ended up coming here 3 times throughout our stay.

This place was awful and doesn’t deserve the 1 star rating that I’m giving it. We decided to go here after talking to several locals who suggested it to watch the Kings Hockey game. The Boston Celtics and Miami Heat were also playing game 7. They had ONEBARTENDER working the entire bar and we waited nearly 45 minutes for drinks. I thought smoking indoors was banned in California but apparently that law doesn’t apply to the bartender. He lit a cigarette every 5 minutes and left it to burn in an ash tray located by the bars front window. The breeze would blow in and carry the smoke throughout the bar, causing it to reek of a nasty stench(see photo). You think the management or owner would have figured out this was going to be a busy night for bar goers. The bartender was a complete jerk and refused to turn up the volume to the Kings game despite repeated complaints from all the customers. Literally, 90% of the customers were complaining for the volume to be turned up. The bartender finally turned up the volume midway through the second period and the entire place erupted in cheers. This pompous self-centered bartender then raised his middle finger high in the air and flipped off all of us. I couldn’t believe what I had just seen. Avoid this place at all costs, it’s just another trashed out bar trying to suck money from the wallets of tourists.

Nothing Special, Very Rundown, Unhelpful staff Sure I’m not completely against going to a dive, the atmosphere can be fun and quaint. This place is just sad. Not very clean place and the old old carpeted floor should have been removed and left as concrete or something many many years ago. Staff seem to pride themselves on now knowing how to make anything and on being unhelpful. Pluses are the TVs and prices. With the right group and the right live music I could see this place being ok, but not as a walk-in.

Great Sports bar, So if you go there with your buddies this is the place to stop in and drink. They had all sorts of different games on when we went. The bartender was nice. It is very big in there. I would say if your looking for a drink and some relax with a game stop in here for your day.

This place had some nice screens for game watching. Hoever, the seats are not placed in conducive places to utilize the screens. We were sitting inches from a 50– inch screen! The staff is very nice and open to changing the TV to the game you want to watch. The drinks are cheap and they have some quality beers on tap. $ 5 for a large beer. There is one pool table and live entertainment on certian nights. Minus stars for the fact that there are people smoking pretty much in the doorway of the bar, so you can’t come and go without inhaling massive amounts of second hand smoke.
