So this was one of the places where we went to eat last. Fortunately, we did enjoy the food here. It was pretty flavorful. And not like the other places we had been to. We enjoyed the food and the margaritas. The micheladas there are delicious. The chef was very nice to us and made us feel like we were at home. The view also is nice, with a golf course right across, and the day was so beautiful and sunny! 02÷21÷16 I would return to Catalina for the scenery not the food, unless I eat here.

Great value for your dollar! Most plates are large the Nachos are great! If you order then you don’t need much else maybe a taco or two. The quesadilla is HUGE!!! And delicious! The Mexican food is great they also have American cuisine option corn dogs nuggets hamburgers hot dogs etc etc. I didn’t try it but I’m sure it’s run of the mill it didn’t look special. But 2 – 7 is happy hour $ 1 dollar tacos!!!

$ 1 tacos were pretty good. It’s off the beaten path — not much at all though, because the town is so small. They were only serving street tacos when we got there, about 30 minutes before the posted closing hours. It was decent. Would’ve liked to try some other options. Maybe next time.

One Dollar Tacos, can you believe it? Authentic, tasty and better than homemade with your choice of Chicken or Beef and the usual trimmings. Friendly people with the right attitude, this will be a must stop place for the family on our next trip back to Avalon. Located just down the hill and to the right from the Catalina Canyon Spa and Resort. Burn them calories off by walking back up the hill to your room!

Wow this place is absolutely amazing! Came here and ordered tacos, nacho grandes and drinks and it was great! It was the most authentic Mexican place on the island and the people were so friendly and nice. The taco meat tasted great and the tortilla was very fresh. The nacho chips were home made and tasted amazing. Definitely recommend visiting this place while you are on the island you won’t be disappointed!

If you’re on a budget at the island, this is your go to stop! $ 1 tacos during happy hour(2−7pm) but there are only three options beef, chicken, and I forgot the last option… though they have a condiment station to provide toppings and salsa. Lemon is extra as well.

Food was simple, but very good. However, you stand in line to order the food, and then it took for forever for the food to be brought out to us. If you’ve got the time, I recommend it for a good snack!

We took a shore excursion while visiting Catalina on a Princess ship. We passed this place on our bus ride. It is near the golf course and off the beaten path of tourists in beautiful Catalina. I like places where the locals go, and this by far is a local hub for a quick bite of Mexican food. You stand in line and order and then sit at an outside table that overlooks the golf course. It is pretty laid back. They have $ 2 pints of domestics and the tacos and chips/salsa were really good. Service was good. I would go back. We liked the hike up to this place and enjoyed seeing all the small homes that adorn the streets.

Other than the cheap 1 $ taco, i did not see value in the food offered here. Although my review is based on the veggie burrito ordered, its is one of the less flavored ones i have had and the portions are also not huge(what i typically expect from a family run mexican restaurant). The only saving grace is its location opposite a golf course but we visited it over a dinner.

Are you kidding me? Dollar tacos on catalina! What a find. If you are a budget this is a definite must do on Catalina for what you get it’s a deal you pay at front window take your number to the lady who prepares the taco for you then there is a salsa bar to add cilantro and salsa to your taco what a deal! By the way that’s for happy hour 2 to 7 margaritas are $ 5 at happy hour

Great tacos at 1 dollar between 2 – 7 everyday. However, this only includes carnitas, grn beef or chorizo. If u want steak or chicken or fish it’s 3 dollars. Still an excellent deal. Great atmosphere staff n margaritas.

The $ 1 tacos are nice and cheap. Taste wise they were merely average and lacked cheese, but overall were okay. The happy hour drinks were cheap as well, but the walk from town can take a little while. While we might have stayed around for more drinks, the surplus of flies at the Sand Trap sent us away in short order, and pondering whether the name Fly Trap would have been more appropriate.

They remodeled the road here from the last time I was here. This is the HAPPYHOURSPOT!!! $ 1 tacos(I had 20!!). $ 8 Coronitas(Magarona), $ 2 Draft Beer, Ceviche on POINT!, and ambience is Chill and DOPE! Get here and enjoy yourself, the crowd is cool and the staff is friendly.

Too many flies. Dollar tacos can only be chorizo, carnitas, or ground beef. If you want other meat it’s $ 3 per taco. Meat tastes fatty. Beer wasn’t cold enough. I walked up here thinking the Unilocal reviews would be worth it but was wrong. Look elsewhere. And the horchata tastes funny.

Location: nice, quiet, off the main strip. Food: average. I had the chorizo/eggs/beans and unfortunately was taking Immodium and Pepto all day for my upset stomach. Made several trips to the restroom, had to stay close to our hotel room for the remainder of the day. Bummer since we are only here for three days.

stopped here after our hike up to Wrigley Memorial, we worked up a bit of a thirst and a little appetite, timed it just right so we could take advantage of their $ 1 Happy Hour tacos and $ 2 draft Budlight beer. Definately a locals hangout. They have outdoor seating, which we took advantage of. Will the tacos wow your taste buds, not so much, but for a dollar and a cheap cold beer, its a nice stop. They have HH everyday from 2 – 7, if you are hiking or staying at the nearby Hermit Gultch campground, its a nice change of pace.

Chill vibe, nestled in the core of Catalina island. Cheap thrills. Inexpensive tacos and brews. Michelada with my negra modelo on point! Cool bartender.

Passed by this restaurant on the way to the botanical garden and noticed their happy hour. Everyday from 2PM — 7PM they are serving $ 1 tacos.(Carnitas, chorizo, and ground beef; no carne asada unfortunately). Had 3 tacos, a tostado de ceviche, and a small horchata for ~$ 10. Good bang for the buck here on Catalina island and less than a mile from the main shops along the shore. Happy hour included drinks as well such as $ 2 draft beer and $ 5 margaritas. Didn’t have any drinks this time though. Seating includes indoor and outdoor with plenty of couches on the inside and umbrella tables outside with the bar. TLDR; $ 1 tacos & $ 2 beers during happy hour!

For $ 1 tacos, I cant complain. We always make sure we come here on the rare occasion we visit Avalon CA for some happy hour tacos and beer. Happy hour is from 2 – 7 every day which is awesome! If you want cheese on your tacos, that will cost you an extra .50 cents. This last time we visited(May 28th) they didnt have a chicken option, which was a little disappointing, but the carnitas were… okay. Are these the most amazing tacos ive ever had? No. But for a dollar you cant really complain. They are very enjoyable and worth it.

We came here 5 years ago and this place was a diamond in the rough. $ 1 tacos and you could load up your own toppings. Cheese, salsa, lettuce, cilantro, onions etc The beers are also $ 1 It’s great ! However we are in Catalina right now and I have to say this visit the tacos fell short big time. They cut back on the quality big time THECHICKEN — - tasted weird and not even like chicken at all. THEGROUNDBEEF — tasted unseasoned and very dry THECHORIZO — Was the best out of the 3 choices and would only do next time The salsa bar got rid of the cheese and it’s just lettuce onions cilantro and salsa The salsa is good. This place needs a good cleaning the outside is FILTHY! Old posters hanging and falling off the walls, dirty flipping everything . You truly question if you might strike food poisoning from this place but luckily we didn’t. The $ 1 tacos and $ 1 beers are from 2pm-7pm I wouldn’t pay over a $ 1 for either here so it is a good deal.
