Fiesta Jalisco was a pretty middle of the road Mexican restaurant. Our group went there on a Saturday night in the middle of ski season… you would think the place would be jammed back but it was completely empty. The food was decently good but I wouldn’t say it was AMAZING. The best thing on the menu were their house margaritas and probably their weird cole slaw salsa. My roommate ordered queso and it was straight velveta. You would think a mexican restaurant would be cheap but the prices were OUTRAGEOUS! The queso alone was $ 7… Overall I would NEVER go back to that place again.

I am from Phoenix AZ, so I may be a tough critic when it comes to Mexican food. I asked the server what was popular and he said the chicken fajita burrito, so I ordered it. It was ok. The service was good. The fruit margarita was the bomb(contained premium tequila)! They get 3 stars because the sauce on my burrito was watery, and the salsa tasted like canned tomato sauce with onions and cilantro. A Mexican food restaurant without fresh salsa is unheard of in AZ. It was pretty gross.

Stopped in for some Mexican food, The service was good, we were seated right away, and food came out quickly. I had the chimichanga plate. It was average, like many other restaurants I’ve been to.

Don’t believe the crummy reviews. The service was good as was the food. We had a local recommend it and took his word for it. We had 8 people and our server never wrote down anything and our order was 100% accurate!

Stopped here on our way through. I ordered a combination plate of enchiladas and Chile reyeno, my husband ordered Shrimp Fajitas. He opted out from eating his a few bites in die to the poor flavor, and ate half my food. Well about 170 miles up the road in a canyon we both were sick, and stayed sick until it was out of our system. If traveling I don’t recommend eating here

Do not know where to start. Hot sauce is like thin tomato soup watered down with a few chunks of tomatos. Enchiladas, tamales, chili relleno were terrible. Enchilada sauce over the tamales was thin and watered down. Waiter worn sun glasses at night! I would not want to be associated with this place either! !rice and beans were passable at best. If you want tex mex food, stick to the place in Edwards !! Chalupas on crispy flour tortillas !! Ugh! Flour tortillas were from a bad grocery store! We are from San Antonio, we know good tex mex food and this was not it. !

So the queso is nothing more than Velveeta, can you say viva processed cheese. Bottom line, you don’t have to get in a time machine to see how bad bland cheap Mexican Restaurants were like in Colorado thirty years ago. Come to Avon and see this one.

Several other reviews have noted the food tasting like poop so I have to admit my family and I were a bit nervous before receiving our meals. We, however, do not know what poop tastes like, nor do we want to find out, but we do know what it smells like and this place does not smell like a used john. Is it a real 5 star restaurant? No, but how many places are? If you are craving Mexican food in avon, should you eat there? Yes. It ain’t too bad and the margs have tequila.

Walked in, this place is spacious as fuck! The staff is very attentive! Walked in and immediately ordered two COCOritas(fucking legit)! We shared a carnitas plato y it was most enjoyable! Honestly, this is definitely a must check out spot especially if you are en route to glenwood or Denver!

I would give this place four stars for service and friendliness, but the food was a solid 2 – 3, unfortunately. Our food was served lightening fast on hot plates, but when we dug in we noticed the food was stone cold. When we asked if our plates could be reheated, they made us new entees that were slightly warmer. The food seems fresh but what we ordered lacked seasoning. Bar service was great — we enjoyed the sangria and top shelf margarita. We were served a complimentary sopapilla with whipped cream due to the issues with our food. Very nice. Would be willing to give another try if we lived here. They have a very large and diverse menu from which to choose. Oh, and the chips were fresh and crisp.

My wife and I are from SoCal and eat plenty of Mexican food! We are a few hours from the border. Some of these clowns on Unilocal use this site to be vindictive. I had the mixed fajitas. It was pretty darn good. It seemed I was shorted on my portion of beef but I peeked over at my neighbor and their fajitas had plenty of beef. However, I had fat chunks of chicken. Luck of the draw. The food was above average in taste and I am full. The salsa was above par. My wife had a veggie spinach mushroom quesadilla type plate and she was very happy! It was not the«best» Mexican food in the world but it was definitely par or above! 100% better than that resort Mexican food! It ain’t SoCal Mexican food but what the hell, we are in CO… I would come back !

Oh, come on other reviewers — this place is not as terrible as you’re making it out to be! It’s great for large parties(fit my entire extended family in for Christmas), with healthy sized servings, affordable prices, and decent food. I’m picky about Mexican food as a native San Diegan, and I was satisfied. And it’s Vail. Not a Mexican food Mecca by any means! I was more than happy with my warm enchilada and tostada combo on a cold ski day…

This place blows, all of our food tasted as if the oil that it was fried in hasn’t been changed all week, we told this to our waitress and she offered to show us the oil. She missed the point entirely, the food tastes like poop. Had a horrible take in my mouth the rest of the day

Fiesta Jalisco«A Real Mexican Ripoff» This place was close to our hotel and the 4 of us were starving for a large meal so we thought Mexican would be the right choice. Don’t get me wrong – the food was fine(minus a few mistakes in the order). My tamales were okay and a bit pricey for just 2 of them, but that’s not why I think this place has some improving to do. First of all, the prices of Margaritas by the pitcher are listed NOWHERE in their entire novel of a menu. And further, the server really struggled to explain our options for margs. He mentioned something about a cheap pitcher(made of pre-made mix) and one with fresh lime juice. He also mentioned that there are a number of tequilas we could have but was very vague about the price. We asked for a mid-grade tequila with fresh lime juice expecting that they’d be about $ 30 – 40 a piece. 3 pitchers later, he brings out the bill for $ 230!!! The server then sheepishly explains that the Patron(a better quality tequila) would have actually been cheaper at $ 42 a pitcher. «And you’re telling us this now, because???» It was awkward trying to get an answer out of him so we just cut our losses and paid the bill. The hotel staff said they hear this complaint often so seems like they’re really working on it…
