Took hubby and kids fishing on boats then upstairs to the restaurant for fathers day, Hostess was very pleasant and sat us right away. The view is the best thing about this place. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and beer selection. My husband had a special fathers day burger which he enjoyed and I had the linguine seafood which was good and filled to the brim with seafood. The kids ate off the kids menu which was the same kids menu you would find anywhere. The food did take a little while to come up but it was a busy day. I would recommend this place based on views and service alone.

Just left, what fabulous views. To bad the rest is just bad. Walked in to grab a drink with hubby. Bartender comes from around back chewing. Eww. So he proceeds to ask us what we want to drink. After he’s done chewing. I get my old standby so does my husband when we are in a place that’s a turn off. Never offers us menus, then he stands in front of the tv while the game is on so my husband can’t see, just odd. Place needs a good cleaning and maybe a manger. It’s such a shame we have no good places to go to on the south shore of Long Island.

This place is absolutely the worst food I have ever had! I would not give the food to my dogs! Disgusting burgers. Disgusting service. The only thing that was edible for the $ 40 spent were the french fries. Unfortunately I was there for the waste of time festival on 9÷20÷15.

I had oysters and crab cake. The oysters were grey looking not fresh. The crab cake was huge and had mostly bread crumbs not much crab. New England soup was good. Cosmo drink was weak. My husband’s clams casino was good but the fried shrimp had too much breading. I had pains in my stomach after eating there. Ugh!

Very nice afternoon. Stopped for a light lunch. Ordered a glass of wine, baked clams and crab cakes. The food and view of the water were great. Friendly staff. Will be back some day.

Came with the extended family on a fishing trip. Stopped in for an early lunch because we were starving. They had just opened and we had to wait at the top of the stairs not sure if we should just seat ourselves. No one was around. It took about 2 minutes for someone to come out from the kitchen. Our waiter was friendly as was the other staff it seemed. Food on the other hand was not so great. We ordered fresh oysters, crab cake, steamed clams, lobster bisque, and a pasta for the kids. The pasta had no taste at all except being drenched in butter. The lobster bisque was bland. Kudos for having huge chunks of lobster though I wouldn’t expect any less from a waterfront joint. The oysters were not as fresh as I would hope. The shells were all cracked and broken. Some training on opening oysters would be helpful. Crab cake was good. The steamed clams were good until the last one which was rotten. There is an elevator in the back which they offered to let us use since we had a stroller with us. It would have been great to know about the elevator going up. My husband had to carry the stroller up the stairs.

Bad service and even worse food. Don’t eat here. The fish tacos were spoiled and the mozzarella in the captree salad tasted like rubber.

this is our first time to hear about the so-called plate sharing fee… They charged us 6 extra dollars without informing us till we checked the bill! Also, the service is very slow! Food is expensive but not good at all!!! Especially the smell of bathroom is very strong! In a way, it is terrible!!! I strongly suggest that u shouldn’t come to this place to eat!

The best part of this restaurant is the location/views…so if you are going for outrageously delicious food, then you may be disappointed. I agree with many other reviewers, that the service is excellent in personality but super super slow. We waited about a ½ hour for a table although there was no line(I think they just like to make a few bucks and send you to the bar) and then the hostess came over and asked if we still wanted to be seated or were fine by the bar… i was dressed for dinner(in a dress). Foodwise: we ordered baked clams and steamers to start. Both leaned more toward tasteless, disappointing and small… rather than being good. The raw oysters and clams were also fine… not too amazing. I got the halibut which was GREAT and didn’t need anything to accompany it and my boyfriend got the crabmeat stuffed flounder which he liked. So food was mediocre. We shared a piece of tart key lime pie which I liked. The bill for the two of us was pretty high, especially for not eating anything impressive. With tip it was a bit over 150. So — I say an extra star for the view and ambiance, but 2 stars off for food and pricing, 1 star for service(waiter, not hostess). Decent place… worth at least one trip(sit upstairs).

Clam bake was awesome. Service spectacular. View was amazing. Everything from the lobster to the shrimp to the little necks tasted just caught. Fun to watch fishing boats go out too.

This place seemed like a nice place at first with a friendly staff, but the food was disgusting, it took too long to serve and the prices were outrageous. I don’t mind paying $ 25 an entrée on average if the food is great but really, I don’t know how this place makes it. Save your $ 135.00 tab for 3(no alcoholic beverages served) and go to a TGIF or AppleBees instead. I felt sorry for the staff. I gave it one star because I couldn’t give it zero.

Horrible! Disgusting! Long wait and overpriced. Save your time and money. I went here with my husband and the food took forever and it was a kitchen nightmare dish. Some parts were cold and when I told our server I did not liked, he looked at me like I was crazy, ugh!

I give this restaurant 1 star for customer service and 5 stars for the ambiance. I know the math doesn’t calculate to 2 stars but that is all it deserves. I took my 89 year old aunt to Captree on a beautiful Sunday afternoon to watch the boats go in and out, and I wanted to treat her to dinner. Unfortunately they are not handicapped accessible, but I was told by the many behind the concession stand counter that the restaurant will serve us downstairs because of our situation. NOTTRUE. The hostess said«just order take out and bring it to her.» Not what I was hoping for in the way of customer service, particularly since they were not busy at all. We decided just to treat ourselves to clams on the half shell, which I ordered take out and brought it down to my aunt. The clams were delicious, and both of us were happy enjoying the view, but I do wish they had better customer service from the hostess.

Seriously underwhelmed. Wine list not up to date, they didn’t know what beers they had. We decided to play it safe and go with salads. Very very average and overpriced. No fish sandwiches, really? Slow service and we were one of two tables in the place. Can’t recommend at all!

Like most places by the water, this restaurant gets the extra star for location. The food was just okay, but what a great place to eat. We went fishing on one of the Captree fishing boats and afterwards wanted to stop in for a late lunch/early dinner. We went upstairs to the dining area and it was not crowded. The view was great and the sound of the gulls gave the impression that we were on a ship. The wait staff was fine and helpful but did not tell us about the specials which we learned about after we ordered. I had a salad with Ahi Tuna and it was very good. No complaints from me! My husband and our friends had the fried flounder which was thicker than flounder, so let’s call it fluke. They all said it was very good and fresh. Other friends ordered the lobster rolls with french fries. Also, it had good reviews. The location for a place like this gives it the extra stars. It’s by the water, the windows are open and the sea breeze feels great! I still wouldn’t give it the 4th star. It just wasn’t special enough, but don’t let that stop you on a warm summer night. It’s still great to be by the water! Hope that helps!

Service was horrible!!! The 2 hostesses were about as warm as the dead fish on the party boats. Then I was given a menu book with no menu. It took 10 minutes to order drinks. What no sangria? And another 10 minutes to get them(one beer, one soda). 25 minutes, never took our order. Left $ 10.00 to cover the drinks and left. There was a big party there, but still.

Disgusting. We ordered baked Salmon, which was very fishy tasting, a burger, which was decent and the Steak Tip sandwich. All of our orders were messed up and had to be changed, not big deal, but the its pricy and you’re better off buying an overpriced bag of chips at the snack bar downstairs. Also, it’s right next to the ocean, but they have no local fish items on the menu…

This place wasn’t bad, but definitely overpriced. $ 7 for a side caesar salad, really? I got the crab stuffed flounder. It was extremely fresh but I wasn’t crazy about the seasoning. The vegetables and rice on the side were surprisingly good. They have a full bar but i was disappointed that they didn’t have any beer on tap and no happy hour =( The ambiance is nice with a great view of the water. I got to watch the sunset. If your in the area, its not so bad but definitely don’t go out of your way. You can get more for better somewhere else.

This was actually better than I expected for a seaside state park restaurant. I went on a drizzly Monday afternoon with my Dad, nieces and nephew and we had a nice lunch. The upstairs actually has a decent view of the boats at the dock and the seagulls look pretty flying outside. The kid’s menu is typical — burger, hot dog, or chicken. We had the dogs and burger, they were OK, not great. However, the fries that came with them were much better than I expected for this kind of restaurant, having some sort of crunchy tasting coating on top. The adults had the mussels in a white wine and garlic sauce, fried fish sandwich, and seafood linguine. The mussels were fresh, the fish done well, and the seafood linguine actually came with quite a bit of seafood and the linguine itself was perfectly al dente. Service was good if slow, but then it was an atypical day. All in all not a bad place at all, don’t be afraid to stop in if you’re hungry.
