On the bay, but rare to find a lot of fresh fish. Prices are oftentimes way, way out of line for a so-so Lindenhurst Resturant. Not the greatest tap selection, and just about a mid to low mid level place. Want to pay high 20’s to 30 for a piece of meat, go to Tellers instead.

Probably a decent place for a drink but nothing more. The enclosed patio was shabby and dingy. My burger was awful. No excuse for a bad burger. The calamari was frozen. The wait staff was nice but that’s no reason to go back.

The only thing good about this place was the view. And maybe the raw bar, sometimes. Started with calamari and baked clams. Calamari was ok but the marinara sauce they served with it was completely watered down. The baked clams came with 6 and they were soo tiny. Also filling was not good either had vegetables in it and was a little mushy. I had a salad with shrimp because they were out of lobster. Shrimp had no flavor and the whole salad was very boring. My mom had the Cajun grilled shrimp. Again no flavor. Will not be returning, maybe for a beer def not the food.

Went there with my date last night. They were very accommodating getting us a nice table outside. The waitress Lynda was right there bringing us drinks and appetizers and a change to an item on the menu more to my dates liking. I had heard that the service might be slow but that’s far from the truth. The food was served hot and timely. Both dishes we had were delicious. This was our first time and I’m looking to go back

Summer of 14 was great summer of 15 not so much! I’m not sure if they changed chefs or what? I am not normally one to write a bad review but I had a terrible experience. My fiancé and I ordered 2 unsweetened iced teas and 2 entrees $ 75 of wasted money, in and out within 45min. The waitress was not very attentive. We never received bread. Had to ask another waitress for it when our entrees came out and the bread that came with it was stale! I ordered the seared sea scallops!(Crunchy. Almost like sand was on it) and my fiancé ordered the frutti de mar(watered down sauce with no flavor. Imagine eating linguini in water. Ew. The clams were even hard. The whole meal practically tasted microwaved. Left so much on the plates. You would think good customer service would be to observe you didn’t eat much and ask if you liked it. Instead piled the food up and said anything else. Obviously we said NO! Won’t be going back. Not worth another shot!!! Sorry bay vue. You have to step your game up

This upstairs deck gets way too crowded and the only place you are allowed to sit for drinks is at the bar. Good luck trying to get a seat though. So my boyfriend and I stood near the stairs and one of the waitresses dropped a bottle of Corona on my baby toe — it hurt like a mother!!! 3 days later and it is still bruised and still hurts every time I touch it or put on shoes. They gave me napkins to wipe the beer off the back of my legs and eventually offered me a drink. At that point I just wanted to get out of the cramped crowded spot — said no thanks, and left!

Second time here for lunch. The place is great, the waitress Linda great ! We had tuna avocado roll, delicious !! And then we had two cheese burgers… Absolutely HORRIBLE!!! We could barely get through a half each… It wasn’t a firm burger and We broke it up to give the strays the rest and my hand was sooooo greasy … Disgusting!!! We will go back just NOT for that!

Had dinner there the other night. Our server Christina was very attentive and sweet. I order baked clams, but I didn’t care for them, they were very breadlike. My main course however was delicious. I had Cajun shrimp and scallops, and my friend had chicken bruschetta. Would go back but I’ll skip the clams.

After reading a few negative Unilocal comments I was nervous to bring my boyfriend here. We are big foodies and I eat out for work a lot. The food was excellent, sushi was fresh as they have a sushi man there! I had the lobster salad over greens and my boyfriend had the broiled seafood platter. All was excellent!!! Service was fast and friendly and attentive! My only wish is a better by the glass wine list(just the barefoot/berringer type pedestrian list) if you’re on a date and don’t want a bottle of wine I recommend just doing a cocktail. All in all, pleastly surprised and happy. I will definitely be coming back!

probably more of a 3.5 star rating, Bayvue is a very nice dining experience… once you get in and seated Wifey & I headed over this past Friday after looking for a new waterfront spot & seeing Bayvue featured in a Newsday article on the topic. Called & asked for a reservation but was told they weren’t taking any more. At the same time I happened to be on their website perusing the menu and noticed an OpenTable link — 10 seconds later I had the reservation I was told I couldn’t get, so do yourself a favor and set it up this way if you can. Being that the restaurant is literally at the water’s edge on Wellwood Ave, it’s a tight little stretch of road that’s made worse by the neighboring catering hall. Bayvue offers valet parking, and while it seems like a chaotic scene the guys really do know what they’re doing. DONOT park in the public lot adjacent to the restaurant unless you have a Lindenhurst Village parking pass, we witnessed town code enforcers writing tickets like crazy. Best bet is to swing through the parking lot & get on line for the valet, it takes a few minutes when it’s busy but you won’t have any of the headaches. Once inside, expect a wait for your table if you want to be outside like we did. You can give the hostess your cell phone # and they’ll text you when the table is ready. In the meantime, head to the upstairs bar to grab a drink & enjoy the beautiful scenery. After you get the table, you’ll find that they have some great fresh seafood options. Whether you want something cooked or raw from the sushi bar there are options for everyone, including the non-fish eaters. Everything we had was fresh & super tasty. A little pricey but nothing overboard. Wait staff was very friendly & accommodating as well. All in all a nice place for a waterfront dinner if you’ve got time & patience

I had no idea this restaurant even existed. I went here with 5 other people for lunch on Friday… middle of a work day and the place was PACKED. Atmosphere: We sat outside on the covered patio. Not that pretty but it was outside and on the water, so that was nice. Cost: The prices were steep. Because someone else was paying, I didn’t order what I really wanted because I thought it was too expensive. I ordered a shumai and brown rice. $ 9. It was very good… not the most filling thing in the world but it tasted good. After I ate it, I thought«What a weird thing to have on the menu at a waterfront restaurant!» Service: We got good service. I would go back because there is something on the menu I really want to try and it was a nice treat to sit on the water and eat.

Horrible in every way. See my pics. Service was friendly but SLOW. $ 18 for a lunch sized portion of the roasted leeks and beet salad with chicken. I was given the dish and there were barely any leeks and zero grapefruit segments or toasted cashews. I asked the waitress abt it and she said, «let me go check». She comes back and tells me that they are out of grapefruits and then hands me a saucer plate of cashews. Umm why weren’t they on the salad to begin with? The chicken was very salty. My friend was also disappointed with her salad. My spicy margarita was made from a mix and it sucked. I ordered a Corona Light and was told they were waiting on the delivery so they were out of it at the moment, second choice Blue Moon and was given same response. Really? You open at 11:30am it was 2pm. You suck. The rooftop was closed too. Why? It was a beautiful summer day and it was around 4pm when we walked over to go upstairs and it was locked. The view is decent but I will not be back. The worst $ 90 lunch bill ever. I wish I asked for the manager when I was there.

I’ve dined here twice and I can not complain about the food, I have always enjoyed what I’ve ordered… That’s where the 2 stars come from. Both times the service has been downright awful, second time worse than the first. None of the servers flashed a smile the whole time we were there and the server would rush our order when she finally did come over. The place was probably about a quarter full and still we had to request silverware and wait 15+ minutes for a water refill. Even when we tried to get our waitress’ attention she walked right by like she didn’t even notice us. I am not one to nitpick on service usually or ever make a complaint but this trip earned a comment. Unfortunately for a place with a great view and good food Bayvue’s service is sub par at best.

When it’s a beautiful night and you want to eat outside and be on the water and Nicky’s is closed try out Bayvue … It’s quaint, live music going on and the food is mediocre. We had a medley of dishes from sushi rolls to sashimi which where just ehh nothing to write home about. The broiled fisherman’s platter and skirt steak where decent and a nice size portion. The kids meals at 9 dollars are average as you would get anywhere else. Overall for the price the ambiance of being outside you get what you pay for. Service was friendly and timely.

Many seafood restaurants are guilty of the same crime(I have seen it time and time again). The crime is lack of seasoning… For Gods sake a little salt, garlic, parsley, thyme, dill, pepper… ANYTHING! There was none, so for that reason, although the service was very good, I would not give this restaurant a good review! Sorry guys but I can’t see spending a fortune for food I can most certainly cook better.

I’m not usually one to complain or criticize and when I do it’s for a good reason. First off, I love this local spot and its convenience and proximity. Where else can you eat dockside/bay side? The summer months make this place a hot spot and I’ve always had a good experience. Today… Not so much. My daughter ordered the Mac n cheese and while the portion size was off the charts and the rigatoni was a great choice, never had a more bland cheese sauce in my life. Even the Kraft Mac n cheese has more flavor. Might I suggest the chef«actually» sample the fair that comes out of the kitchen. I will remain dedicated to this place and hope this review might serve as a valuable lesson. Till next time BayVue. Xo

Obviously being on the water we went here for the view and if it wasn’t for that Bayvue would get zero stars in my opinion. Sure it was a holiday weekend but it wasn’t packed, all the tables outsider weren’t full and there were a couple of people inside. This has to be some of the worst service I have ever had, it’s one thing to just get things wrong but the waitress couldn’t focus on the table she was at as she was too busy getting unfocused on the next table. Getting a drink or a full order of drinks in before she walked away was nearly impossible. When we finally did receive some apps we had no utensils for about 8 – 10 more minutes and then had to wait 20 minutes to place our order. Food was at best mediocre, the tuna wrap overcooked if you could find it, shrimp wrap had 3 shrimp in it and one of our people got a chicken salad that the chicken looked like leather. I will say both wraps had amazing flavor profiles just very little protein in them, a vegetarian would have loved it! Sure go there if you want a couple drinks by the water or better yet, find another place on the water, it’s an island afterall

Went here for lunch on a very nice Saturday in early Spring. Unfortunately, the upstairs bar, which provides excellent views of the bay, was not open and will not open until the week before memorial day. So we got a table and sat on the screened in porch. Out of the two meals we had(fish and chips + steak wrap), the fish and chips was a 4 star and the steak wrap was a 2 star. The wrap was really nothing special. The fish and chips seemed like it was freshly fried fish and it was really good. The restaurant could potentially be a 4-star overall experience, but since we went when the whole place wasn’t open I don’t know. Right now it’s 3-star based on only the food, but there’s potential to be a 4-star in the Summer. Will amend review if I repeat and it calls for it.

They made us wait so long we left and went somewhere else. We were sitting down eating our dinner when they texted us our table is ready. LOL They act like they are busy! They had plenty of open empty tables but make people wait to create a desire able atmosphere that doesn’t exist. It’s nice to eat out on the deck when the weather is nice but people will not wait and wait for no reason and go else where like we did! They lost the business from us for a second time in 2 years! I’m sure it happens to other people. I’m sure no one is waiting to eat there during the winter and rainy days so they should not play games on nice days!

A nice view of the south shore bay with extremely limited parking, okay service and food in need of some added zeal. As far as seafood is concerned most of the options are fairly standard for the area with a padded price tag in relation to the restaurant’s prime location. The fried calamari was especially salty and chewy, nearing tough. The seafood plateau seems like a fair price until you realize how small half a lobster sizes up in comparison to another entrée. The turkey burger was good but this is clearly a seafood restaurant, Drinks are on the strong side. Wait staff are mostly younger or unconcerned with your dining experience, likewise annoyed to accommodate you. Overall this location just doesn’t seem like it’s reached its full potential. Hoping in years to come there is some change.
