My husband Danny & I have eaten there, brought home Delicioussss
take home; but today the food (take home) fish, French fries, fried
mushrooms, onion rings, & fried zucchini (my Favorite !) & Lettuce &
tomato salad were Soooo delicious ! Alex, you were right; you made
the fried food reallyyyy Greatt (as you promised !)
I guess that «our eyes were bigger than our stomachs »; & we will
have to warm the fried food in our browning oven tomorrow & enjoy
it all over again !
The young ladies, Monica & Rachel were quite efficient & friendly; &
also made sure we had plenty of condiments, (catsup, ranch dressing, &
tartar sauce !) & plastic cutlery, & enough napkins without us asking for them !
I would recommend Golden Ox on Niles; «good food, Alex’s finesse in
fried foods, (especially zucchini !) & Friendly Service from Monica & Rachel !
Don’t just «Take my Word for it; Stop there & «Find out for yourself !

Food is great here! Homestyle recipes that are very filling! First off, I’m not sure about the post mentioning that the staff has no teeth. Everyone I know that works there has teeth. Secondly, this is not the same restaurant as the Golden Ox on White Ln! Different owner, different business.
The restaurant is fairly large with lots of tables and booths. It’s great for families, kids, and groups!
The breakfast here is phenomenal: the breakfast burrito is awesome as are the french toast, pancakes, and steak & eggs! I can never decide if I want sweet or savory for breakfast, so I end up sharing food with my husband. The burrito comes with your choice of bacon, sausage, or both; eggs, potatoes, and cheese! It’s huge and very filling! Ask for a side of pico and taco sauce! Both are made in house and are soooooo delicious on the burrito! The french toast is warm and delicious! The pancakes are fluffy and large!
They also have yummy lunch and dinner options. My favorite are the burgers, onion rings, fried zucchini & mushrooms, pastrami sandwich, chili fries, and fried chicken. The portions are huge, and they will customize anything, just ask!
There is a drive thru for those of you in a hurry! Or you can sit inside and help yourself to the soda machine!

Chili Fries are some of the best in town… Now that being said… Manager is a jerk, they will charge you extra for ANYTHING they can… The drive threw is so slow it makes you want to start cutting yourself and the dinning room is always dirty and full of people/​screaming kids that are so annoying you would like to drive them out into the middle of nowhere and leave them for the coyotes to chew on… What’s really sad, is even with all it’s faults… it’s still one of the better places to eat on the East Side… Burgers are big and tasty, their regular French Fries are big portions and Their Chili Fries are killer…

I always loved golden ox if I don’t get the pastrami sandwich I get the chili fries, the staff is really nice there, although if your using the drive through that speaker will annoy you. But it doesn’t bother me, back to the food the portions are huge and the food always taste fresh at least my burgers have and to top it off they always hook up my pup with some bacon and that always makes it better. Try the colossal burger or the chili fries with their ranch you won’t regret it.

Randomly came to bakersfield because my boyfriend wanted to «revisit his hometown and childhood», and I’m gonna have to say this place isn’t half bad! Considering it’s a fast food restaurant, the food was pretty good, everything had a comfort food type of taste to it.
Employees were nice, the place looked a little run down, but everything seemed clean.

I ordered the biscuits and gravy combo (eggs and sausage) and it was disgusting! I could barely swallow it, which is too bad because I ordered 3 plates thinking «who could mess up this food?» I guess the Golden Ox can: (

This one isn’t quite as good as the one on white lane. A little more greasy, not as clean in the lobby, the drive-​thru speaker is more crackly… that being said, we all need fried zucchini now and then
